Hi friends, I hope you enjoy the video. You can find the full length of the videos in cards within the video as well as in the description box below the video. I would LOVE to know what have been game changers for YOU. Please share in the comments. I know we'd all love to learn them! xx
How secure is the method for hiding tails on the granny’s? Does this last through many washes? I’ve only made 1 granny and it fell apart after a few washes and never tried another.
My top game changer was finding crochet tutorials on TH-cam.
Snap! You’re right - that happened to me too 😆❤️
Same here!!!!😂 😂😂
My game changer is finding a place to meet other crochet people and be able to learn new techniques. Since i taught myself to crochet from a book over 40 years ago i have been on my own till i discovered your videos. Its like a party 🎉 now!
Yeah!!! 🙌🏻🧶It’s amazing the sense of community social media creates, isn’t it ? 😀👏🏻👏🏻💕
I would love to find friends that crochet. I have been crocheting since I was a kid and would love to have a group to meet every week and crochet. I am in Va Beach .Where are you?
Hi there! Love these game changers- if you help with the one where you change colors. Do weave the ones you pull out or cut off to secure the color you stop using when adding a new color. Sorry I’m still kinda new to this.
@@maggieguerrero7260 weave those loose ends in to your finished piece otherwise it will unravel with use. That’s with any type of color change or loose ends. They will always need to be weaved in 👍🏻💕
Weaving Ends Simplified Plus COOL HACK! 🤩🧶
th-cam.com/video/VElsx623OcM/w-d-xo.html
I read somewhere , not to weave in the ends until the piece is completed because if you are blocking the work the woven ends could impair the final shape!
For me my game changer is a make-up sponge on my hook. It is in the shape of an hourglass well sort of. I push the hook threw the center and it seriously gives me finger with some nerve damage a vacation so to speak. I was beginning to think I would have to give up crochet and that just wasn't an option. Happy crocheting I'm going to read others comments now. Everyone have a blessed day.
That’s brilliant, Denise. I’m so glad you found a way to keep crocheting 😀🧶👏🏻💕
Sewing in the ends of a granny square are a pain but you made it look easy by doing it in the corner, way easier.
It’s much easier like that for sure 💕
My biggest game changer was finding tutorials on TH-cam in general. I taught myself from instructions that came with yarn a long time ago. I was never very happy with the details of my projects, but they were usable.
From TH-cam I learned to abandon the chain 3 turn and instead use a attacked single crochet most of the time. I also abandoned the chain 1 turn for single crochet. I use them occasionally when it just doesn't work the other way.
Oh, and using the back bumps of the initial chain!
Mostly it was learning that crochet isn't science. There are different ways to do things and as long as I'm happy with the results, it's okay! The crochet police are not going to come get me 😅
Yes to all!!! Fabulous!!!😀👏🏻❤️❤️
The Fisherman's Knot join was my game changer. I love that it's smaller than the magic knot and easy to do.
I'm 77 and crochet helps me to medidate while doing something... Things done stick with an event... Love from northern France... Thanks.
Awe, Bonjour 👏🏻💕
I am a newby knitter/ crocheter so I find most new techniques a gamechanger :-)
Hahaha awesome 💕
I have just used the colour change tip to join a fresh ball of yarn, mid row. A definite game changer! Thanks so much for this ❤
My game changer from you was when you explained the p in your stitch! At almost 70 years what an amazing difference in my crochet stitches ❤. Thank you for sharing your wonderful tutorials.
Wow, Linda, i almost posted that one ! It was a big one for me too when I first learned it 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻💕
@@PlayHookywithMe how do we find that video, please?

Those are some great techniques. I love the fisherman's knot idea.
Glad you like them! 👏🏻💕
The magic knot for color change is excellent! Thank you
Hi Roz, you are invaluable to the Crochet Community. Thank you for your well-organized videos. I have been crocheting for years, yet I keep learning knew crochet ideas from you all the time. We do appreciate your time and your knowledge.
Hugsss❤️
Big hugs back , thank you so much 😀❤️ means so much to me .
@@PlayHookywithMe Roz, I know that I speak for many. It’s just some forget to message you. Please keep up the fine work. ❤️
Glad to hear you say you use a sharp tip needle in sewing! I always do too, it's better going into the fibers. You hear so often to use blunt needles, they are nowhere near as good.
Totally agree , blunt needles have never worked well for me 💕
I learned to crochet from my grandma and she made a lot of fine stuff like lacy doilies and lace borders for handkerchiefs. She did hold her hook like a spoon or a pen. My first gamechanger was that you can hold your hook like a knife - so much easier for me!!!
The color change trick is mind-blowing! 😍
I love crochet. I make my own summer tops & experiment with different stitches in one top. I also make winter jerseys. Crochet is such an amazing creative outlet for me. My favourite stitches are bobbles, popcorn, shell stitches🇿🇦🦋🥰
So wonderful 🧶👏🏻💕
Thank you Roz! Love your crochet tips. I've never done a reverse granny square. I've always worked same side, but upon watching your tutorial I like the texture change so I will try doing a reverse granny next time.
Love your magic knot. I will definitely try that. I look forward to Sunday videos. Thank you! ❤
Awesome, Donna, thank you 😀🧶💕
The magic knot is my gamechanger too! I use a lot of scrap/different colors, so having a reliable way of changing them is so important.
I'm currently working on a striped zig zag blanket and am so over weaving in ends. Your tip for a magic knot at the end of a row is going to be a life saver! Thank you!
I’m so glad! 😀👏🏻💕
The magic circle and knot was a big deal for me. I have learned a lot from your crocheting techniques. Thank ma’am for your help. It means a lot. Love from Texas.
I’m so glad my videos have helped, means a lot , thank you 💕
OMG. That's awesome! Thank you for sharing 😊
The trick the granny squares is amazing! Thanks!
Great tips, great teacher ! ❤
Thanks so much ❤️
Wonderful tips! Thank you !!
Brilliant on all levels thank you 😊
Those are all game changers! My favorite is the color changing one! Thanks for sharing. Very helpful tips. Have a great day ❤️
You too , thank you ❤️
Thank you for sharing!
Excellent tips! I am watching this five times to get them in my head!
I have never made or used a magic knot. Im looking forward to using that on my next afghan. Thanks for the helpful tips!
Great 😀👏🏻💕
Saved to my Crochet File for quick reference, thank you! The slip stitch for the borders and magic knot were game changers for me!
Awesome sauce 😀❤️
Love love love the mattress stitch!11
They are all great game changers! But the color change one was awesome. Thank you so much for this video.
Thanks, Cheryl! 👏🏻💕
Thank you so much!😊😊😊
Hi Roz 😊
Goodness you have taught me so many things that have made crocheting mote relaxing and took the frustrating parts away for me. The magic knot or fisherman join was one of my top 3 favorites. I had never heard of it. But I literally learn something from every video you post even if it's a subtle change. It still makes a difference in my life.
I get spasms so bad and many techniques you have shown have helped so much. I love crocheting and even though I am still slower I can still enjoy it. Thank you Roz!😊❤
I don't recall the P stitch. oh gosh now I forgot if you called it a stitch. Can you post that again please.
Have a blessed day!!😊❤
Sure 💕- I mention it in videos sometimes but here is a specific video segment with the tip. It’s the 7th tip :

Love this!
Love this so much❤❤…Thank you!!❤❤
I love your game changes. They are for me.
Wonderful ❤️
Thank you. I knew a few already, but the tips for color changes are truly game-changers! My personal life-changers in crochet have been the magic knot and using the stacked double crochet stitch instead of chaining three at the beginning of a row (for some projects) for keeping straighter edges and no open spaces in crochet projects.😊
The stacked double is amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Lots of tips "game changers" I can already use!!! Thx❤
Wonderful 😀👏🏻
Thanks so much for sharing!! Have a wonderful day! 🧶🙂😘❤
You too, thank you 😀🧶💕
Love your colors, beautiful, thanks for the tips
Thank you ! 💕
Your tips are always informative! I just learned the other day a great technique for giving the back panel of my sweater extra length without adding extra rows. If the pattern calls for HDC, I use an extended HDC on the back panel.
Excellent!! So exciting to discover these things, isn’t it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you. I love the color changes and technique you use❤🎉
Thank you 😀❤️
You are so right, all these technics are game changers. Thank you so much, all these are very practical and easy instructions and make the projects/ crocheting so much more enjoyable. 🧶Maria🧶
Thanks, Maria! 💕
Excellent video. These are now going into a playlist for crochet reference. New library entry.
Oh, good 😀👏🏻🧶💕
I am not as accomplished as you. My game changer is finding these videos! THANK YOU!

Thank you so much, enjoy your journey! 🧶💕
I enjoyed watching and learning .
Thank you 💕
Great tip
Well, I just had to save this to my saved video playlist, because there are so many goodies in it!
It wasn't mentioned in this video, but the game changer you taught me that has affected me recently is from the retro daisy video, where you say to do a slip stitch in the top of the first true stitch that you see. That makes so much sense to me!
Also, hello Biscuit sweetie!
Oh that’s wonderful, I’m so glad ! 😀💕
😽😽😽
Thank you. So much
I really loved all 5 techniques! Thank you! ❤ I will use them! 🤓
So glad 😀❤️
Thank you for sharing, im a newby to crochet so any hints or tips will be game changer 😊 many thanks !
😀👏🏻👏🏻💕
Thank you ❤
One of my gamechangers has been replacing chain three with the standing double crochet and chainless starting double crochet. Tamara Kelly-Moogly's was the first channel where I found them. Many others have picked them up since then. These stitches look better than chain three at the beginning of a row or round or at a color change. I love your video. These tips are very helpful!
Wonderful! 💕
My game changer was the magic knot/fisherman's knot. That truly works so well and it is very easy to do after you get the hang of it. I do like the russian join too. Also, reading the comment from lindahoig, I'm wondering if you can list the clip of when you explained "the p in your stitch." It's not coming to mind for me.🤔 Another game changer is you, Roz. 🤗❤Your videos explain things so well and with depth of explanations. You are a great teacher. I'm sure all of us subscribers appreciate your weekly videos.💖
You’re too kind and that means a lot , thank you 💕
Here is the letter P tip. The 6th tip about 5-6 minutes into the video :
th-cam.com/video/n7BR7xv2yek/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DCYW-fy_VOCZdEHA
Can't thank enough for making this video.... 🙏🙏
So glad ❤️
This is a first time watching your video. I sort of knew some but these kind of tweaks it to be much neater . I will be sure to use these techniques . Sort of a game changer for me was the mosaic crochet for the beautiful patterns and it’s perfect for using the left over yarn .
Great video. I learned so much. Thank you
Thank you ❤️
Wonderful tips! Thank you so much! Dreading bushveld all gone!
Wonderful 😀👏🏻💕
The biggest game changer for me was the magic knot! So simple and easy yet so effective
Yes 😀🙌🏻
Very useful tips. Love it 😊
So glad 👏🏻💕
Wow I've learned something new with the color change! I've been crochet for years.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Thank you so much, this was very helpful🙂
So glad 🧶💕
I have had the invisible knot fail on me more than once. I make sure that the knot is tight, but it still manages to undo itself. I want to love it, but the trust is gone. 😢
I've had the same experience.
Well , I am new to crocheting, and this was really helpful. Thanks so much for sharing your tips
Wonderful, so glad it helped 😀💕
Definitely my game changer is taking my projects everywhere I go. And doing my projects anywhere I have idle time. Good for those small to medium sized projects and even large ones as long as there are no complicated patterns. And yes, I brink my projects at work and do it there too 😅.
Excellent tip! 🤩
Brilliant 👏 thank you so much for sharing ❤
Thank you ! 💕
That magic knot was my game changer.
Hi Roz and Biscuit. For me my game changer was admitting to myself that I needed to change over to ergonomic hooks. I have my Grandmother’s hooks and my Aunt’s hooks (which are two different styles of heads) and was always most comfortable with my Aunts (brand: Susan Bates). I used those hooks for years and always recommended them (and still do). But two years ago I purchased the Clover Amour ergo hooks (in all sizes) and it has made such a difference for me. My hands are less tired and I don’t feel like I’m going to drop the hook. And I’m back to working with fingering and lace weight yarn (although I admittedly work much slower!) but at least I can hold onto the hook. And my trusty neck light really helps with those darker colors. Thanks again for your fabulous tips and tricks! ❤💕❤
Both are excellent. I can’t live without my ergonomic hooks so I can relate . I was seeing signs of tendinitis before I switched to them ❤️
You can DIY with a metal hook and plasticine! I would suggest practicing on an op shop hook first though. Rough up the handle area with sand paper then mold a decent amount of bake-plasticine around the handle. Once you're happy with the amount and positioning... now you can mould it to your hand how you would use it when you work!
Follow directions to bake. ❤️
@@user-zt3op2ts3m excellent suggestion!!! 💕
Thank you for sharing your helpful idea amazing great job thanks.❤❤
Thank you ! ❤️
I don't read patterns I just see if the pattern looks good. Crochet is Art if it looks good to the eye Is fine with me. I love the magic knot and use it alot. I also take my scrapsof yarn a connectthem together and I make my own variegated yarn.
Love it! Yes, our eyes are our best guide. So true 💕
Great ideas!
Thank you...
Glad you like them! 😀👏🏻💕
Thanks for the tips. I was already using one of them (the knot), but the other ones are very useful to know. Also, all of your work is so pretty to look at!
Thank you so much ❤️
My game changer is the carry forward method, I made a gingham check rug with constant colour changes and hardly any ends to sew in.
Excellent 😀👏🏻
For borders, my game changer was Around the Corner Crochet Borders book ... Taught me everything patterns never tell you about doing borders.
I’ll have to look for this book ! 💕
Love all of this .. cheers ..✌🏻🩷🌷🌿
Thank you, Sarah 😀🧶
Dear Roz and Biscuit,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and I totally love these game changers…some I’ve heard of before!
Have a Gelato for me 🍧😅 Enjoy your time off.
I love having the “spindle holder” that I had help making so my yarn don’t get tangled when using many colours for a crochet project.
God bless you always. Take care 🙏🏽🩷🧶😻🥰
Thank you so much ❤️I had plenty of gelato for you … sometimes 2 a day! 😆😅😅 😋
The spindle sounds like a great idea!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😋 Yum, definitely what I would do if I went back to Italy 😂
Thank you, I used a plank of wood and measured two rows to put my 23 dowels in like a “zig zag” to allow space for the yarn if I’m going to be doing a project with lots of colour changes - I heard about making it on Alison Russell’s crochet channel and the one I made was similar to the one from ’Onedog woof’. 🙏🏽🩷😻🧶🐶🌷
Muito bom! Excelente vídeo! Obrigada!❤
Thank you ❤️
Great thanks
The stacked single crochet is my game changer. I will never use a turning chain again the stacked stitch looks the best.
😀🙌🏻
Hello Roz ... Hope your having a blast in Italy. I've always wondered who was behind that lovely soft spoken voice . Now i see . You are a joy to listen and learn new things from . God bless and hurry back .
Thank you , Angela, we are having such a good time! 🇮🇹💕See you very soon 😘😘😘

Thank you very much!
Only on my second ever blanket/project! This video was soooooo helpful! I want to do granny squares next, and learning how to weave the tails will be great from the start!
