For my last market, I made almost $200! I'm gonna put $100 into my savings account, and the other $100 I'm gonna try buying some premier parfait chunky yarn! I'm 12, so that's why I'm putting so much into my savings account! 😊 Edit: I forgot to mention, my cats were my absolute BEST sellers! Mostly because the place (which is a bakery) has a very cute cat there, which is why my cats sold sooo well! ❤
Ive always thought those chickens would make SUPER cute door stoppers! Filling them with heavy grains (or heavy plastic beads if you're concerned about moisture) so they can hold open doors would be so cute. Lil floor chimken 🐔
Just a thought: if your yellow and orange items aren't selling as well in the spring and summer months, try them in the fall. They're as cute as the rest. The changing of the leaves just might spike your sales.
I went to a craft market one time and I bought a sock creature plushie and this guy, it was a guy artist, named each of his creations. They were all unique, but I thought naming them and giving them a little back story was a really cute idea.
I was watching my favorite TV show and hopped on TH-cam, I can't express how fast I clicked on this video once I saw it! Woohoo! Congrats on your market!!
@allezcrochet You're welcome! You really have a great start to your TH-cam, I'm excited to see all your videos in the future! And I'm so hopeful for a good turnout like this for my first market. It's only 10 days away now, so I'm watching crochet content and crocheting like my life depends on it 😂
You put so many helpful details in your video. I always make an effort to look well-stocked, yet at the same time, don't want to get stuck with items that don't sell well. It was nice to see granular info on how many you brought and how many, what colors sold. Also, the value of the stock and the sales, number of hours and display info. Thank you! Will look for the fruit basket bundle!
I totally forgot to mention it, but I find it so helpful that when you go through all the inventory you bring to your markets you mention the total value!! It’s super helpful to hear this and keeps things in perspective!! When you hear final total sells without knowing the total cost of inventory it’s hard to judge how much you need to make/ bring!! I find your videos so informative and helpful and I can’t wait to see more market content on your channel!!!🎉😊
Okay, so it's kind of funny that I literally made the EXACT same amount at my market last night! lol! And YAS on the $5 items!! it really makes a HUGE difference in the traffic flow!
As a fellow crocheter who also asks her boyfriend what he thinks of my makes, I’m convinced that as helpful as it is, sometimes only crocheters really know what we’re making 😂 or the buyers lol But my boyfriend still gives very helpful feedback so I won’t stop asking even if he’s wrong sometimes 😊
I agree the final pineapple is the best, but I think shoppers might have fun choosing which “hair” they want on their pineapple. The others are so adorable!
Subscribed!!! Just started crocheting in December. Funny story, I bought a DIY crochet elephant kit that I planned on making for my husband for Christmas. I had no crochet knowledge whatsoever and for some reason I thought I’d be able to read the directions and make the elephant. Boy, was I wrong . I began watching videos and practicing every single spare moment I had. It became an obsession. I have stuck with it. I did make the elephant eventually. But not before Christmas 😂 I just upgraded from the cheap hook that came with the elephant kit to a clover set:) I’m very interested in doing markets in the future so this was very informative.,
Omg when starting, the directions look like they’re in another language, pretty much cause they are! 😂 That’s awesome you stuck with it!! I’m so glad you liked the video, I LOVE doing markets and I hope you will too!!
I often wind down my evenings with watching other crochet maker market type videos like yours. You tube must have thought I’d like to watch your video because it just popped up without my looking. You really do have a great voice and manner about you that makes you pleasant to listen to. I also enjoyed are you own interruptions. lol. I actually laughed out loud with pineapple #3. 😂 that was great. I can relate! Much blessings in your crochet business journey, I just know you will do fantastic! Nice second market sales!! Congratulations 🎉
Hii! Could you possibly make a video on all of the basic skills that you need to start to learn that is easy enough for complete beginners that don’t know what slip knots are or anything like that? So could you explain what stitches and knots you need for certain things in crochet and stuff like that? Thank you! Also new sub!
Thank you!! Definitely planning on it! I have been doing lots of markets lately, so lots of recap videos! But once my market schedule slows down I’m planning on doing some prep videos, vlogs, tutorials, etc ☺️
Thank you for this informational video! Its very helpful for someone who is new to crochet but would love to eventually make stuff to sell! I have a suggestion for the kiwi! Maybe trying making one with a different color circle inside like a very opaque green or you could also use a different green to contrast where the seeds are placed if that makes sense! There are also yellow kiwi's :3. Hope thats helpful!
OH NOOO. Just finished my first ever crochet. It was so hard I was pulling my hand each piece over the hook, decided to watch this before starting the next bit, You mentioned the white chicken bcs of using the wrong hook and I just in that moment realised I made my flower pot using a big hook just bcs I wanted to use the cute pink handle hook not orange like in the tutorial….I’m just a girl 😭😭😭😭! I don’t know there’s different hook sizes 🤣🥲🥲🥲
I've just found your channel, this is the first video of yours I have watched. Instantly subscribed and liked!! You are so funny and interesting g to watch and your editing is spot on! Sorry for being a creep I just thought I'd show a hand of appreciation for your efforts. 😊🎉
I love to make like little kids show keychains or plushies, unless it’s copyrighted! it’s because the markets my parents used to go to had a lot of kids so I make kids show crochet things, stocking up for my first market! I’m making 3 paw patrol set keychains (for matching keychains for friends) 2 bluey, muffin, and bingo keychains, 4 gir plushies (mostly so I can grief over gir due to the fact that is still one of my favorite cartoons) and more! the market will be a blast, I will have one kids section, and one normal section for normal crochet plushies and stuff!
Thank you!! I feel like typically it’s around 50 $1 bills, and then like 10 each of $5 and $10 bills. Maybe a little less. And then for bags I just bring the pack I got on Amazon! (It’s linked in the description) so far I haven’t gotten through them all yet!
So happy you're doing so well, and I'm so happy I found your channel! I love these type of videos and your creations are so cutee! I'm definitely saving up to try to buy one of your plushies! Also, I wonder if you label the giant strawberry as a pillow for others to read it might get more attention. Some people might just not know what to do with such a large plushie, but if label it specifically as a pillow, you might get more attention with it.
Thank you for your video it was interesting and very cute, I was chuckling about your 3rd version of the Pineapple I needed that today, Thanks and good luck! I'm new at crocheting, I'm still wprking on my Bernat Blanket, I'm making it for myself before I really get into it! Those items you showed in this video are so cute I would have no idea how to even start! Thanks again, Enjoy!🪴
Thank you so much for watching!! That’s awesome that you’re getting into crochet! I learned everything from TH-cam tutorials and lots of practice! Good luck, you’ve got this! ☺️
I did a crochet market when I was 11 and I made almost $400 My first Market I only made $100 so this was a big improvement also, I can't believe other people sell their triceratops for so hot. I was selling mine for $4 and you sell them for $15 😮
Hello! I’ve been crocheting for a while and am really interested in crochet markets, so I have a few questions: how do you find markets near you? I’ve been looking around but I can’t find any and I’m not sure where to search. Also, what is the rule for the patterns people can use to sell? Like is it completely fine to just sell anything you find, or just unless specified by the person who made the pattern, or do you have to create every pattern yourself? Your video had a ton of great info for getting started with markets, so thank you!
Thats great! I find all my markets on Facebook! I’m a member of several different vendor groups. Then when I’m at markets, I usually chat with vendors and see what other shows are out there! Typically, most pattern creators are ok with you selling finished products as long as you cite them as the creator/tag them. Hope this helps, good luck! 😊
I never heard of an axolottal (I know that’s not spelled right) until I started watching crochet market reviews a month or 3 ago. Maybe still don’t know what it is!
26:11 I'm alone there's no one here beside me, anyway the donkey is so cute I don't get why no one adopted it, I'm pretty sure that it will find a home soon 33:09 also you could make a little strawberry key chain too, if you want to
So I’m 12 and I started crochet a month ago with the woobles kits. I highly recommend them they helped me learn a lot. And I just finished my first plushie that’s not the woobles. It was a breeze I finished it in less than five hours. I want to do a in a few months market but I don’t know how to get the yarn becuase usually my parents buy things for my hobbies for me. Also I don’t know when to do market do I wait a month a year I don’t know do you have some advice.
That’s so awesome! I would say whenever you have a good amount of inventory (whatever feels right to you) then ask your parents and they can maybe help you sign up for a market!
I crochet with worsted yarn and I price my stuff based on size because of how iffy I am with doing it by the hour. Though, if I want to price my amigurumi by the hour using worsted yarn, how much do you suggest I should charge for it? I was thinking of $16 by the hour since I could never figure out the cost of materials for each individual item I make, but I do want hear your suggestions about how to price my amigurumi properly. I'm also generally a slow crocheter, since I'm making sure I got the details and the stitch count correct. I also use smaller hooks unless the pattern instructions say otherwise. And no, I don't have any blanket or chenille yarn.
Hi! It really all depends on your area and what you feel is appropriate. I do $15/hr plus materials but that’s because my market has shown it works. I would recommend starting in the middle, doing a few markets, and adjusting prices accordingly! If something flies, people will probably be willing to pay a little more and if it doesn’t move, take some off. But above all start at a prices that compensates you fairly! I hope this helps!
The 1st pineapple is giving pepper vibes... Maybe make it red, a little pointier, a stem, and you can have a spicy fruit! 🌶 Sorry...I just put the peppers down in my garden, so they are on the brain apparently. lol
If you use the whole skein, I would add that into the price! I do $15 an hour plus materials. So if it takes you 2 hours to make and you use an entire $5 skein, it would be $35. Hope this helps!
@allezcrochet and you sick to that. Crochet can ONLY be done by hand. There are no machines that Crochet. Knitting, yes, crocheting no. I charge about the same. 20 an hour, including supplies. Everybody's outcomes are different. People need to stop pricing so low just to sell. Again, some people don't have the best quality of work. For those who do need to price right.
I cannot believe the prices you got on these things! 10 for a little octopus and 5 for a simple keychain?! You can make 3 in an hour easily. Do people actually pay that amount of money for those things? I sell crochet in the Netherlands and I sell keychains for €1,50 and octopus etc for €2 and even with those prices many people comment on the hight of the prices and I sell hardly anything. I hear the same thing from other crochet sellers. Pillow covers with the pillow inside, made with granny squares or flowers I sell for 10 euro and even then people try to get me to sell them 2 for €15. I wonder why there's such a big difference😕
I agree. It clearly depends on where you are in the world. Where I live in Canada no one would buy anything at those prices. I knit and crochet and know how long things take to make and the cost of materials. That said, I don’t think makers ever get their time out of items they sell. I don’t do markets but if I ever do sell anything I usually triple the cost of the materials and that’s it…..I would never be able to charge full price for my time.
@@Katepwe That's right. You can never get anything for the time you put in. I don't do markets myself but I crochet for a charity here in the Netherlands, called The sunflower, which is a group that organizes diner parties or afternoon teas for elderly people and take them on outings and trips. They sell things on a market here in town that is especially for creative people. I made 15 beautiful granny square and sunflower pillows and the sold 3. In 7 hours! Three! First they had them priced at 15 but lowered the price to 10 later that day. Lots of interest, but no buyers. Sold a few sunflower keychains for 1 euro a piece. At the end of the day everything was given to another charity that shipped of everything to a third world country.
For my last market, I made almost $200! I'm gonna put $100 into my savings account, and the other $100 I'm gonna try buying some premier parfait chunky yarn! I'm 12, so that's why I'm putting so much into my savings account! 😊

How do you price if you use the full skein? I want to sell but not sure how to price
If you use the whole skein, I would add that into the price! I do $15 an hour plus materials. So if it takes you 2 hours to make and you use an entire $5 skein, it would be $35. Hope this helps!

Maybe you could add a cute face to your big strawberry =D

Omg you may be right 😅 I have no idea!!

Good idea! I’ve sold it since this video tho!
I think people think that the strawberry is decoration
It sold!😊
Maybe add a face to the heart
Good idea, I may try that!
Congratulations on your success. You might sell more by lowering the prices… I kept cringing at the prices 😑
Hi there! My prices are set at $15/hr plus materials.
