EDITS: It has come to my attention that I've made a mistake 18:29, where I write 1st gear starts at 100 and 2nd gear starts at 101. This of course does not make sense. 1st gear starts at 0. Furthermore i mentioned at 3:30 that you need the standard or club acces to race wr ghosts. That is wrong, you need to get the club access of the game. UPDATE: The game has now added Steering limiters by pressing 1 through 9 on your keyboard! This means that the controller exclusive/favorized tricks mentioned at 8:41 and 11:31 are doable on keyboards now!
I really like how you actually described *how* to steer during a bobslay curve. Every other tutorial only mentions that you want to stay between the red lines, but never do they say how you can do that. I noticed that not only you steer softly, you also NEVER COUNTERSTEER when your car wiggles between the lines.

What a well put together guide, everything important is covered! I would maybe just mention the Trackmania School (TMS) campaigns that can be a great way to understand better / get better on specific surfaces!
As a more intermediate player, your ice game especially in tight areas is SO satisfying, been practicing ice heavily recently and it’s been paying off in my times Can’t remember the map exactly but I did an ice map before all the practice and after a week I reduced my time by 1.36 👌🏻 I’ll take it got me the gold on the map My number 1 tip I can give is watching players who are better than you play maps you want a better time on It will help with finding a solution to that one difficult tight turn that keeps slowing your times. Love from Sweden
Very nicely done video. I am a simulator driver so these little mechanics is making a huge difference in my times. you made it very easy to understand and got so much info into such a small video.
Great Video. 6:35 When u'r in air, it's not really the countersteering that stop u'r rotation, but steer whatever the directection. If u steer left, and no steer, and steer left again, it produce the same behavior.
Thanks dude, great tips and tricks. Just started Trackmania and feel so confused about what's affecting steering and acc-/deceleration & the game really does nothing to explain it -- the Training maps are there but there's no explanation whatsoever of what the surfaces actually do. You're a huge help!
This guide is what is needed and you put it together really well. Every single technique is explained calmly and in slow pace with clear input visuals. It stands out of so many others which show the technique but do not explain how to get there, or even when explaining they don't say what details to look out for and why. Very well done! Thank you!
spooky, i was just thinking at work how i wanted to look up videos on doing certain tricks on different surfaces to get better at the game and here is your video recommended in my feed with all the tricks. thank you. 🙏
FINALLY a good video explaining the gears in an easy to understand way. I never really grasped it, but now I do. Same with the neoslide. The rest of the video is superb too. Thanks! The only feedback I have is that the video is a bit quiet, I had to turn up my audio 2 times as much as I do on other TH-cam vids.
Thanks this is awesome, as a new player I had difficulties learning some of these things as the majority of videos are just inputs with examples, and maybe a written explanation. The explanation overlayed with audio definitely helps with how I learn. Thanks dude
Excellent, thank you. As a new player who came to the game having randomly stumbled on the D07 video by Wirtual, this is precisely what I needed. Well-explained and well-produced
Instant sub! The one thing I feel lacks in TM is that we have little good tutorials, and for a newer player it's impossible to learn the basics alone. Thank you for this
Thank you for this, great guide! I just started playing today and am getting some author medals on the Winter 2022 maps thanks to you and a couple other helpful creators. This community seems great and I look forward to spending more time with this game and meeting more people like yourself in it!
Yoo incredibly high quality video dude. I'm getting into trackmania right now and this helped me a ton. Plus, noticed you're a fellow dane. Respekt bror.
Bugsliding is real useful in royal, I initially believed you had to land into it and hold steer the whole time but neither of those are true, it a really flexible tool and its probaly useful in half of the royal maps
Thanks so much for this! I would describe myself as a casual/intermediate level player, and I've looked at similar sorts of guides and paid attention to streams but this is the first time I've seen advice that explains which techniques and mechanics are worth worrying about at different skill levels. Helps me feel less overwhelmed and able to prioritise what I'm worrying about while playing.
Brand new to the game, but watched a lot of gameplay videos before this. Finally downloaded the game and it's a lot to learn all at once. Your vide is the best so far, in a large part because you actually talk during them, but you present things in a way that is easy to follow. If you haven't done it already, I would love to see a video on tackling certain scenarios, finding the best line, and that sort of thing. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you for this video. I knew most of the stuff (at least in theory), but it really is helpful and your explanations are great. Also, I finally got the neoslide with just one brake tap, but Trabadia's tutorial shows it with 2 taps and I find that the timing is way more forgiving on controller (but maybe you lose a couple thousandths). Way easier for begginers like me, who played TMNF 12 years ago and I'm only actually learning now.
Dont think you can do this much better, liked subscribed and commenting so this gets some visibility for all the new trackmania players this is pure gold.
Thanks you so much for this amazing video! I really understood all the tricks, as you explained them very well in the time frame you had. Keep up this amazing work, great job!
Great video, as a newish player I thank you some of these ive already knew from watching content creators but to put them in action is completly diferent
I found at least one helpful thing I am ready to add to my arsenal in every section of this video. Thank you SO much. I'm a new player and man I am STOKED!
When I open the game it looks lothing like that you see at 1:20 All I se is Earth spinning, one big collum on the right wil my buddies and on the left I can choose what to do (play or build and stuff like that).
Saw someone else mentioning maybe adding a water tricks section. I half agree since they just recently changed the ratios for action keys. Water tricks are a little harder now anyway. I think an "Additional Trackmania Tips and Tricks" video would be greatly welcomed. Could cover those "Track specific" tricks like ice 360s and whatnot. Maybe a video covering the different track genres and typically how to play them. (Like new players confusing nascar tracks with fullspeed now knowing you don't break, just release the gas). Anyway, great video. Definitely helpful. Makes me wanna actually try to get good at neoslides and when to s4d.
I just managed to get all gold medals in Spring 2021 so I decided to look up some tutorials so that I can get the authormedals. Been playing for close to 40 days now.
at 11:06 you said you can slide, because tries are still frozen from the ice. But in the video you get a slide because there is a tarmek block right above a grass block. so you did get a grass slide, not a ice slide.
Texture filtering is important to have at a high setting in all racing games, as texture filtering makes all textures (surfaces) look better at an angle, or as they are further away. Is it possible for you to make some sort of guide on plastic or the different kind of track-styles (tech, full speed etc.)? Especially wet tires on plastic, which I have big problems with on this seasons 08! New subscriber here for sure
Thanks for ice explanation. I downloaded the game just like 4 days ago and when it came to ice tracks i felt like Its not even possible to complete some of them
Really great tutorial, love that it's succinct so I can always come back and quickly watch for a trick I'm struggling with Been watching since TM2020 released but haven't played much cause I thought the skill ceiling was too high but this might get me started! thank you!
Great video! One trick that is missing from the video that I also don't really understand is how you can sort of wiggle to maintain grip in downhills or uphills, quicktap left right or the opposite. Saw this recently in a video. Been playing trackmania for the lulz since TM sunrise and I only recently got interested in improving. How and why this technique works might not be obvious for beginners. or just long time players like me that hasn't really played against anyone else than myself.

Hi there Jake, I just discovered your channel. Excellent work! Very helpful. Everything that matters is in the video. I would propose though to mention the "drift cancel". It is a bit obvious how to do it and why, but you have to discover it and personally changed my whole driving.

why would anyone intuitively think to countersteer UP a bobsleigh wall? that makes no sense

About 21:00: On Spring 2021 - 07 there's a cut that requires a short bug slide.
