As you do, I also buy them whole & will ground them, but only a week's worth at a time to put 2 tblsp on my cooked steel cut oats for breakfast. I freeze the whole seeds. Years ago my doctor prescribed me fenofibrate to lower triglycerides, which were extremely high due to daily drinking. She would not allow the generic brand and I couldn't afford it. She also prescribed fish oil pills which I wouldn't take as I was vegan then, and some statin drug as well. I also refuse to take statins. So I got flaxseed oil pills and took them instead. Next visit, the tests showed great improvement. She was surprised at how good the prescriptions were working. I still drank through all this, and it was the flaxseed pills that lowered it tremendously. If you take lots of flax it makes your skin oily, otherwise no side effects. So I recommend it for anyone wanting to clean out their arteries.

I did not see that it needed to be frozen, so I’m finishing up my first bag that has been sealed and sitting on my countertop. It looks OK. It tastes OK smells OK. One thing for sure. When I use it I have small mains electricity driven "grinder" and grind it "on the spot" with other seeds (inc sunflower, pumpkin) and consume it immediately its ground. I shall continue to do that. For "oily fish" I eat sardines.

After a few days of one tbsp a day of the ground flaxseed they start to get back to normal and do all they could not do anymore. It almost seems like magic because it works so fast. I use de flaxseed every day on these and all my dogs.

In India they just roast it and keep. Then it can be eaten like roasted peanuts. Crisp and tasty. One can easily consume an ounce.

Look into beets - specifically - beet powder. It increases nitric oxide in our body which improves bp, because it "relaxes" the blood vessels.

flax seeds : needs to be kept in cool and dry place . moisture and air are the main degrading agents. air tight container and dry shelve is good enough ! dosage : try small 1/4 spoon daily and after that 1/2 spoon IS GOOD ENOUGH >> to control your LDL and HBA1C .

    Interesting for sure.
So I’m buying whole flax seeds and will grind them myself. My confusion is how to eliminate the seeds being ruined by oxygen. If I grind the seeds and place in plastic bag and put the bag in the freezer; how do I keep the seeds fresh if I’m opening the bag everyday for a serving size of flax? Every time I open the bag, I expose the seeds to oxygen. This daily adds up to the potential of the seeds becoming rancid.
Please help me to understand if I’m understanding correctly?
