After being obese for 25+ years I finally lost all my excess weight in 2019. I lost 34kg doing fasting and keto. This is not the first time I lost weight, but it's the first time that I am being able to maintain it. All of this thanks to your videos and your teachings. Thank you so much doctor! 🙏

@Plus Minus That is why I just keep it to myself. I used to eat rice and always wondered why I was always hungry. I told a former colleague of mine that many things we eat are empty calories. She lookee at me as if I were high. I started Keto in Nov 2018 and IF some time in 2019. I do IF now daily 20:4 and fast. I completed a 31-day water fast in Nov 28, 2019. Yesterday, I completed a 7-day water fast on 15 Jan 2020. It is very interesting. Funny thing is after the 31-day water fast. At times, the only craving I ever have is Cream of Rice. Interesting.
Plus Minus I worked in retail for most of my adult life and when we had a product that did not sell the way it should I would tell associates that “the more it’s seen the more it’s sold”. Just think mini Dash waffle maker as an example:). It’s the same for these videos. It’s the same for the keto diet.
Thanks Doc, for accurate information we can trust! I’m 5’10’ 43 years old and was pre-diabetic at 350lbs. I’m now 285lbs. I quit eating carbs and sugar a couple of months ago. Today I just finished my first 24 hour fast and I feel FANTASTIC!! My goal weight is 165lbs. But I’m not worried about that. My lifestyle has completely changed forever. You’re channel has been my guide. Love it!
I'm 44 years old on the keto and fasting 6/18 or Omad already 4 months. And workout 4-5 times per week.(already 3 years).I’m healthy happy and strong.Thank you Dr.Ekberg.🙏
Congratulations. I’ve been doing something similar for about five months and I’m seeing tremendous results. I generally do OMAD during the workweek, a 6/18 on Saturday, and an 8/16 on Sunday with up to three meals.
Yes Spirit! God Bless! So many puritans out there! Keep it up. I've been doing Keto with occas. Cheats sad to say....but still losing! I am a walker/hiker and lift weight 2 xs a week.
I cannot believe how quickly I get full eating keto and even after a 16 hour fast I’m still not ravenously hungry. All these years it was the carbs making me hungry and addicted to food.
Every time I watch your channel I feel like go to college for free. You are the best teacher, the best you tube channel and I don't need to buy expensive book to learn about health. I learn a lot from you. Thank you a million .
For those who are new to fasting, let me clarify one important point. Before you begin your first fast, it is wise to become FAT ADAPTED. Teach your body how to burn fat by MASTERING the ketogenic diet. If you are overweight, you probably have a lot of insulin in your blood, which PREVENTS you from burning your fat. You have to cut your carbs to 50 grams or less. No baked goods, grains, starches, or fruits. But you can eat meat, vegetables, and fats to fullness. At the beginning, eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but no snacks. Finish eating by 6 PM. Then follow the procedure Dr. Ekberg describes of narrowing your eating window day by day and eventually fasting for longer and longer periods. When you do eat, prioritize protein. It is filling, and is the only macronutrient you need during weight loss. Finally, and most IMPORTANTLY, replenish your ELECTROLYTES. To make your own electrolyte drink, add 1 teaspoon of potassium No Salt, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of sea salt to two liters of water, and drink that throughout the days when you fast. If you get a HEADACHE or feel WEAK while fasting, drink your ELECTROLYTE beverage. I speak from personal experience, and hope this tip makes you successful in fasting for weight loss.
first off thanks for this comment, I've done really well a two years ago and lost a bunch of weight with fasting and exercising, unfortunately life has gotten in the way and I eventually started steering off and I regained some of it... now I'm trying to get back on track but it's proving to be much harder now than the first time, so this comment helps, I'm going to start from scratch! If you can clarify one thing- for the electrolytes, potassium no salt is something I should acquire, then? Thank you

Hi Dr. Eckberg! I was diagnosed with type 2 more than 25 years ago and struggled with the recommended treatments with no success and as a result I was labeled a Non compliant patient. That title did more to make me rebel from the treatments than anything else. All of that got me painful neuropathy, heart failure and problems with my eyes. Fast forward to last September, I finally discovered doctors Boz, Berry and Fung and finally made the decision to turn my health around. I started a relatively strict Keto diet along with IF. I stopped taking any insulin and victoza. I soon got to where i was mostly OMAD and soon started losing weight. I have gone from a BMI of 29 to now less than 24. My last A1c was 6.6 from higher than 7. I've been listening your videos lately and am getting such good information to keep me going in my journey! Thanks for all that you are doing!
Keto + IF is the bomb! Powerhouse duo 🙌🏻 Thank you doc. for explaining every details! I've been doing keto, OMAD for about 4 months already. My only regret is not starting to do these earlier..
Thank you Sofia Rojano. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile.
Great video! I'm 45 now and I've been doing 18/6 IF and keto for several years - works great for me. Running 2-3 times a week is way easier than it was before, and weightlifting 2-3 times a week is also no problem. I am sad that this lifestyle is still considered "extreme" by most people. I'm trying my best to spread the word but I personally don't know anyone else that does this. I won't give up trying though!
Don't worry, they will eventually come around. 3 years back when I started everyone called me crazy. By now almost all my friends at least consume some low carb meals. Some went temporary on low carb to fight inflamation. Now a friend here swapped to strict keto+IF after failing to get a nasty inflamation cured by doctors. After 5 days this inflamation is almost fully gone. Today we were at a party together. People knew that I usually stick to steaks and salads but now that he joined me with that all of them were joking that my "insanity" had spread. ;)
@@mayam.3240, It will take time people to understand, keep telling them the good results your getting from keto and fasting. I used to have the same body health challenges, overweight to 110 kilograms, pressure was reading 220/110 and other health challenges. I said no to medication despite being threatened by doctors that I will get severe body stroke. I changed consumption style, no processed foods, juices, alcohol, sugar, less salt, exercises and others. As at now body weight is reading 82 kilograms, blood pressure is 170/ 90, others have gone away. Many thanks to Dr Ekberg. God bless him and his team.
I am Korean and I watch many doctors channels. I feel there is somethig about him. He is not a just a doctor. He is the doctor of doctors..I will never guess hou much study he did.
With greater mental clarity through Keto and IF comes more enthusiasm for life and its pleasures. I'm 58 and fast 22- - 23 hours per day and once a week I fast 46 - 48 hours. I train HIIT and weight lift on an empty stomach. Bone broth, with the rendered fat, is absolutely paramount in my daily food intake, I treat it as a sacrament, it is singularly the most important part of my eating regimen.
I have been insulin resistance since 17 years old, I am 40 now. I need to drop another 30 pounds but I hit a plateau ( 2 weeks now) thanks so much for this information! I will extend my Fasting.
I’m glad you brought up your own fasting practice because I too am now at my ideal weight after losing 25lbs since going Keto in September. IF became easy but I can no longer afford to lose more weight so I’ll will reduce my fasting to once a month so I can get some of the benefit of autophagy. I’m 63 and am the weight I was in my late 20’s. I changed to Keto due to family history of Alzheimer’s. Antidote; my plantar fasciitis that I’ve had for a few years is gone in both feet.
I do keto/carnivore + fasting for a minimum of 18 hours, and I feel great. I am only a few pounds away from reaching my ideal weight and my health in general is better, skin, sleep, joints, back, etc. Dr. You know I love you I've said it before, I could listen to you all day long. 👏👏👏🙏 Thanks 😚💙
Dr. Ekberg; Thanks so much for all your wise (sage) information. I'm 63 years old and was growing a ''tire'' around my waist. I had already started Keto before I discovered your TH-cam video. Not only do you make it easy to understand all those technical terms but you also offer really good advise. Like you, I had done the Vegan experience and the Raw food experience but found that long term, it's challenging! I'm now eating one meal a day but I find it hard to eat it all in one sitting. I've started eating my one meal per day during a period of 2 to 2.5 hrs (4:30 to 6:30) and that seems to work well for me for the time being. Also tweeting my fat intake, I think I was overdoing it with the heavy cream, so I reduced it by a lot. My cholesterol is higher, my doctor wants to put me on cholesterol pill but my holistic doctor is on board with Keto and is monitoring the situation. Thank you again!
Dr Ekberg, Thank you for taking the time to provide a visual by writing the information on the whiteboard.... It helps to organize the information that you provide in our minds...👍💪
Very informative. for the past 18 monthsw we have been having breakfast at 6 am, lunch at 11:30 am then nothing until next breakfast. All we take is fresh water & no snacking in between. All together as a couple we have lost over 140Lb's. I love Keto, it's a lifestyle, not a diet. Something else we have figured out ''most people today don't move enough to eat 3 meals per day'' 2 meals is adaquet. I'm so happy we found Keto so we can get back in shape now that we are empty nesters. We love your channel, thank you for all you do helping people to get back in shape ''CARBS are our ENEMY'' limit them to get fantastic results & feel healthier, fitter.
Thank you. thank you, thank you! This is the information I have been looking for. I appreciate how clearly and thoroughly you teach. I understand so much better when you explain things.
I believe it is Dr Fung who explains that yes you can have a little muscle loss when on an extended fast, but when you refeed you then build some muscle. In the end, you come out with less fat mass and an increase in lean muscle.
Thank you gary brown so much for showing your appreciation and supporting the channel and and helping me get the message of health out to the world. 🙏 🏆 😄

@@videogazer801 the first 10 pounds yes, probably probably all water. I do not believe I have lost any muscle. Have you ever done or tried keto or carnivore? When your body consumes zero carbohydrates or nearly 0 the weight just melts off
@@Dirty__Dan I’ve only done keto combined with fasting 18:6 and OMAD. Tried Paleo with fasting as well, and both lost weight rapidly. But it was all water weight for the first few weeks, because I’ve done it for only that short before just to see of the all weight came right back and it did. It’s when I stick with it for three months or more did I see true fat loss.
I'm currently 130lbs overweight... A few months back I was 200lbs + overweight... I'm currently on a prolonged water fast. Today is day 10 of unknown. I feel energetic. I'm working from home (I don't need a lot of energy). Whenever I break my prolonged water fast, I always follow a keto diet. Thanks Dr Ekberg, I feel like I'll be in a normal weight range for the first time in my life within a year or so.
*I've tried both keto and fasting, and they each have their benefits. Personally, I find that combining the two works best for me. It's all about finding what works for your body and lifestyle.*
Dear Dr. Ekberg, In terms of your considerstions about how much fasting is good on high physical activity this might be interesting: I'm working as a piano mover (and moving means that I am carrying up to ten of these things across 15-20 floors each day!). After beeing a carb junkie my wohle life (of course, when I was a kid, I've been told to become one) spontaneously I did a two-week-fasting after a tooth surgery 15 years ago. Unfortunately I lost a lot of muscles back then, because I completely crashed my body down from 100 to zero, but nevertheless it changed my life: Not only did I stop smoking for the fasting period, but stayed a non-smoker afterwards. Since then I switched my training from only lifting heavy weights to running/stretching/functional Fitness and HIIT. Also did I change my nutritional habits (less junk & more whole food, less alcohol and so on). About two years ago I started with intermittent fasting and carb reduction. After seeing some of your videos I felt encouraged to do a longer fasting again, but this time I was prepared much better: For 6 weeks I abstained from alcohol & sugar, I expanded my fasting periods from 16:8 to 18, sometimes even 20 hours and I reduced carbs even a little more (although still beeing far away from a ketogenic diet). Then I went through 3 discharging days where I only ate very little and absolutely no carbs. After that started with the actual fasting where I only drank water for 5 days. I'd been quite afraid of my work shifts before, but although I had some really tough days with exhausting piano transports I did really well and felt strong throughout the whole fasting. On the weekend (I did my fasting from thursday to monday) I even went for two shorter hikes of 10-15 Kilometers each. Since then I decided not to eat any more throughout working and I'm doing much better with it, quite the contrary I'm even feeling stronger now! So, from my point of view, fasting is absolutely no problem on a physically active lifestyle (of course, you've to get adapted to it slowly!).
I made a 7 day water fasting after a long period of bad-regular nutrition, and carbs everyday. It wasn't a pleasent experience. I'm sure that would be better on a previous keto or low carb diet. Thanks for your videos. Very clear accent! Greetings.
Thank you very much for the VDO. Again an excellent VDO! I would aso appreciate a comparison between Keto and IF with a "normal carb" whole foods diet. With "normal carb" I mean what is recommended by the regular/main health authorities, i.e. the five groups of food: - Vegetables and legumes/beans - Fruit - Grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre varieties - Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds and legumes/beans - Milk, yoghurt cheese and/or alternatives, mostly reduced fat Thank you!
I’ve been combining: Keto diet (daily) + 4/20 intermittent fasting (daily)+ the Total Gym (5x/week) + Hot Power Yoga (1x per week). Feeling lighter, sleep better, more regularity in the GI area, and barely have an appetite (which kind of freaks me out, tbh...). Fasting and giving up most carbs has completely changed my relationship with food. I’m 50 and have always been fairly trim and active, but I have had lifelong depression and food anxiety that often bordered on an eating disorder, but I find that this really works for me and is a much healthier way of eating now that my metabolism is slowing down.
My body tells me how often to eat. I find i do one meal one day and 2meals the next day, automatically . I spread the calories over a week, rather than daily.
I tried keto, IF and keto + IF. I found that FOR ME, IF by itself works best. Listen to your body. Do what works for you. Nothing is a blanket rule for everyone. I know someone who lost weight and got off his diabetes medicine even though he ate 300 grams of carbs a day, most of which was fast food. But he ate less calories and worked out a bit
Thanks for this and all other videos. They are eye-openers. Could you please consider making a video on prolonged fasting? Having into consideration wet vs dry fast. I’m having doubts on how to approach a dry fast, the days before, and also how to end it. Thank you so much!
I.F. KETO & LCHF I can't help but think of the movie "Cast Away" although an extreme example He was on a deserted island with only coconuts and fish and became very lean. I do 16/8 Great information!
I started the 20/4 last Tuesday and am just a novice but haven't counted the content of what I've been eating but have severely dropped the carbs, I'm now in the 47th hour of what I plan to be a 50 hour fast and have never felt better in all seriousness...the dog walk at 25 hrs yesterday started with a bit of "wooziness" but that cleared and I haven't had one hunger pang since that point. A pint of water with ACV and a half lemon juice each day and lots of decaff green tea. I feel I could go another day but better not overdo this... when I break the fast it's on to full Keto diet....What a revelation this has been- thanks Dr Ekberg!!!
I would be so interested in a video about keto for women in their periods and how progesterone is affected by that, what to eat , etc. thank you!!! 😍😘😘
i dit long time fasting 2-4 weeks a couple time and now intermitting fasting and keto and had no problem with my period. I do now of partners who want to have children who do also a 3 weeks long fast, to help to become pregnant. (Just we start and end a long-term fast diffrent then u do in the US.) In Germany and Austria many Hospitals that specialise in pregnancy include this adwise and assist in fasting. But how the progesterone changes i dont now.
Keep it up, sounds like you are highly insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. It will take time to fix the problem. And also see your gynecologist and have him send you to an endocrinologist.
Thank you Dr. Ekberg . . . . everything is so explained and easy to understand. I have to do more fasting first to then incorporate more of keto w/IF - your videos are great!
If there's anything I've learned through Dr. Ekberg aswell as Dr Berg, it's that the future of medicine is bright; not because there's a cure for everything on the horizon, but because there's a preventive measure for all disease ready for us right now. Insulin reduction seems to be again and again the key to allow our bodies to naturally take care of all its problems. This is truly amazing. Not unbelieveable at all, but truly amazing that platforms like youtube allow this invaluable wisdom to reach millions of people.
Dr sten you are a great teacher. These videos are so important and lifesaving. I am taking notes and getting healthier!! I am so surprised how much most food has carbs and sugars. ..once I start paying attention and learning its an eye opener. Thank you!
I love your emphasis on self-experimentation and listening to your body. I only weigh 100 lbs, so long-term fasting isn't an option, but after a combination of short-term fasting and and IF, I found my sweet spot. One meal a day is only convenient if you're a recluse! Plus, I avoid discussing my "not yet ready for primetime" diet. : )
3 weeks ago I found out I had lung cancer. I was coughing up lots of blood. They told me it wouldnt stop till at least a week of radiation. I started keto and fasting and got the bleeding to stop my self. Original ct mass was 4.1x3.4cm 2nd 3.4x3.4cm. And my pet scan was 2.8x2.9cm. All prior to starting treatment. They said it could just be different angles but I firmly believe its had to have had a positive effect. O and I'm on my 4th straight day of chemo and radiation and I feel really good. They told me I needed out of keto so I didnt lose weight. I ate carbs day one bleeding was back within an hour. 36hr fast bleeding is gone and mood and energy are back. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!!!!!
OMAD is a huge challenge to most people in our society because eating for them functions as infantile oral gratification, which is a learned behavioral adaptation. This is very difficult to overcome since it requires mental and emotional control of impulses. And who stops to contemplate on where their impulses come from?
Tks Doc..you enlight our lifes and make us understant how complex and perfect are our bodies , an the urgent requirement to help them not to get to a breaking point and have sorrows later...you are woderfull..TKS A LOT 🤗
My other question would be about marriage between blue zone diet and Intermittent fasting! I tend to like complex carbs, good fat and lean protein but minimum red meat!
I never tested for ketones, but once I get that , dancing on the street ... full of energy feeling (after carbs periods going back to keto which takes around 2 - 3 days) , I know my body is running on ketones.
Fat is metabolized in the mitochondria by beta-Oxidation to Acetyl-CoA which goes into the citratcyclus. If there are more fatacids in the liver than it can use or store itself the liver produces ketones which are secreted into the blood. Ketones are an indicator for fat metabolism, but the body never could “run” just on ketones. Ketones are not “healthy” or better or worse than any other way in biochemie and as well metabolized to Acetyl-CoA => Citratcyclusas all glucose or aminoacids or fatacids.
I have been doing Keto for about three months and lost 38 lbs. Hunger was well controlled and have done several 72 hours fasts for the Autophagy benefits.I have recently switched to Low Carb and Hi Protein as I found I was really losing muscle mass and had to get it back up. The down side is that I am getting aggressively hungry even though I am Low Carb. The weight loss has stopped but I am feeling better. I am sometimes burning in excess of 4400 cal/day on the days that I am at the gym and can only see this as my body wanting more energy intake.
@@kaygibson1842 absolutely correct about animal fats. I have now started a resistance training program as I have lost a significant amount of muscle mass over the past three months. I am switching from Keto to Low Carb. Carbs are the only macronutrient which we do not have to intake. Protein and fats are going to be the key macronutrients for my upcoming diet change in order to rebuild my muscle mass. I am 55 years young and it will be a challenge but not impossible as many others think.
6 months on Keto only lost 12 pounds but also lost 3 meds... and only take Metformin and jardiance occasionally haven’t extended fasted enough though (3 days once), I do skip breakfast and lunch at times to make 24 hour fasts. Today had 2 eggs in bacon fat only for breakfast and will only have dinner. I think I will fast next week for the week. I cannot take my meds if I fast though.

I am on my 4th day of keto. I am not on keto just because i want to lose wait. I do this as my body badly needs a change. With no carbs i feel better, my hba1c is 38 which is close to prediabetic but my GP didn't take notice about it. Good that i have asked my copy of blood test and found out and now i knew it is all abouy insulin/carbs and nearly a prediabetic.
Thank you for your amazing information! It has really changed my eating habits and I follow an OMAD Keto “diet” now...I’m 47 years old and fall right in the middle of my healthy weight range. Love it! Since my dad has type 2 diabetes (he is 77) controlled his diabetes by diet until he no longer produced insulin.... THANK YOU.
The good thing to know is that it is easy to combine fasting with low carb and keto. I lost 15 kg within 2 month, feel great and all my blood results are normal now, I need no more medication against typ2 diabetes, my blood sugar is always normal now. Why didn’t my doctor tell me?
Hi Dr Ekberg. Thank you so much for your info! You are helping so many. I have been LCHF for 10 mos, strict keto for 4 mos. Last morning reading was glucose 82, blood keton 1.5. I've done only a couple of 23:1 IF's. I do not have weight to lose. My question: what do you recommend as far as diet/IF regarding chronic illness, bacterial and viral infections (namely lyme disease).
Thank You Debra G. While there are many general things that a person can do to improve their health, such as reducing sugar, grain and processed foods. Some conditions are a little more complicated and require very specific analysis of the body. In my office we use Nutrition Response Testing to find and handle the root cause of the problem. 😀
Combination. Stay IF, but rotate KETO, Mediteranian, and carnivore. Also rotate 2MOD with one 3MOD and one 1MOD, occassional OMODs. I haven't been brave enough to try pure fasting. In another video Dr. Sten talked about this variety so your body does not adapt to one method and start retaining fat. In one of Dr. Debbie Gillespie videos she talks that post menopausal needs more salads. I did better weight loss when I started IF Mediteranian, probably 100 or so carbs, some bread and potatoes than strict 20 carb KETO or carnivore. However, my labs and medication reduction have improved equally all 3 ways. But carnivore had, by far, the most digestive and regularity improvement than salads. I'm one year in and very happy. No hunger, no starvation, no deprivation, no KETO flu. Felt detoxification a couple of times (is that the KETO flu?).

Every time I watch your channel I feel like go to college for free. You are the best teacher, the best you tube channel and I don't need to buy expensive book to learn about health. I learn a lot from you. Thank you a million .
“ you still get to EAT, you just don’t eat the carbohydrates and therefore you don’t trigger the insulin response “ Got it!
Try giving up all dairy for thirty day's. It's not needed and most of it is processed.
Thank you

4 months keto. Carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, back pain, neuropathy all gone . : )
Hi Dr.
Thank you!!
I love your videos. Your voice is so calming and your explanations are so easy to understand.
Thank you 333
Thank you Sofia Rojano.
Thank you Banehogg. Keep sowing seeds. Your job is to inspire, it's their job to get it. Some will, some won't, so what.
People knew that I usually stick to steaks and salads but now that he joined me with that all of them were joking that my "insanity" had spread. ;)

I do keto and intermittent fasting combined. Love the results. I’ve lost 70 pounds in 6 months and can go 24-36 hours in between eating any thing.
There’s no way you lost that in fat, you probably lost 30 pounds of fat and 40 pounds of water and muscle

I’ve only done keto combined with fasting 18:6 and OMAD. Tried Paleo with fasting as well, and both lost weight rapidly. But it was all water weight for the first few weeks, because I’ve done it for only that short before just to see of the all weight came right back and it did.
It’s when I stick with it for three months or more did I see true fat loss.

Dr Sten Ekberg Is doing His Mission and its a Amazing tò have him as a doctor of all nations . More than a doctor he Is a professor .
Dear Dr. Ekberg,
In terms of your considerstions about how much fasting is good on high physical activity this might be interesting:
I'm working as a piano mover (and moving means that I am carrying up to ten of these things across 15-20 floors each day!).
After beeing a carb junkie my wohle life (of course, when I was a kid, I've been told to become one) spontaneously I did a two-week-fasting after a tooth surgery 15 years ago.
Unfortunately I lost a lot of muscles back then, because I completely crashed my body down from 100 to zero, but nevertheless it changed my life:
Not only did I stop smoking for the fasting period, but stayed a non-smoker afterwards.
With "normal carb" I mean what is recommended by the regular/main health authorities, i.e. the five groups of food:
- Vegetables and legumes/beans
- Fruit
- Grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre varieties
- Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds and legumes/beans
- Milk, yoghurt cheese and/or alternatives, mostly reduced fat
Thank you!
I lost 14 kg in 2 months, eating low carbs and IF 20/4 ... Also Wight training+ short cardio 4 times per weak... Thx for all your information sir 🙏🙏🙏
I'm so lucky to find your channel. Thank you for sharing worthless information. Enjoying and watching your videos one by one. ❤
Thank you doctor. It is so exciting to watch your videos and learn more while establishing old information from old videos.
Thank you Hannan Matouri. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it.
Thanks for this and all other videos. They are eye-openers. Could you please consider making a video on prolonged fasting? Having into consideration wet vs dry fast. I’m having doubts on how to approach a dry fast, the days before, and also how to end it. Thank you so much!
Daniel Shields , please just do water fast. What do you see the value of dry fast. On a water fast you will help excrete out waste product.
Daniel Shields , In the Jewish religion we end a fast with a small amount of juice. Otherwise eat lightly, until comfortable.

OMAD is a huge challenge to most people in our society because eating for them functions as infantile oral gratification, which is a learned behavioral adaptation. This is very difficult to overcome since it requires mental and emotional control of impulses. And who stops to contemplate on where their impulses come from?

Your the best! Amazing explanation, hello from New Zealand
I never tested for ketones, but once I get that , dancing on the street ... full of energy feeling (after carbs periods going back to keto which takes around 2 - 3 days) , I know my body is running on ketones.
Thank you Mircea Gancea. That's good proof.
The body is running on fat!
@@dr.chrisketo7193 Fat gets broken down into ketones by the liver which then can be used by the cells for energy.
Thank you Dr Eckgenberg.
I agree the 8 hours eating period with 2 meals within that time is best ,like from 12.00 until 20.00 h is best for most people .

Thank you Dr Ekberg for all your wonderful videos. I have learnt so much from you.
Spot on! Great summary. Thanks
I'm doing keto plus fasting, not one or the other. Why to limit oneself? Have it all.
Thank you Dr. Ekberg, very informative
