Thanks a lot, you helped me wire my backup camera the same day my headunit came in. I luckily had a converter on hand so didn’t need to wait for the “canbus decoder” shipping times. For the people that are confused, try to find a wire w the tag “ACC” and tap that into the hot side of the converter, and ground the black wire to any ground. then on the 6v side, connect both the power and ground to the camera so it can power the camera. Keep note that In the video, his “ACC” cable was black but my wire was coated blue so be sure to look out for that! Hope this helps anyone who is confused
2014 FR-S with idoing head unit. Cannot get oem camera to give a display on head unit is this why? Will give display when plugged into a tv “video input” to test it.
Most backup cameras are 12v and will work just fine with Idoing radio. I had installed a "stock" or "oem" backup camera. 2014 FRS did not come with backup camera, but head unit still had camera hookup, which is 6V, so the camera had to be 6V. This worked fine with the stock head unit, but I needed an adapter for the Idoing unit. I just wired in a 12V to 6V adapter that I got from amazon. Apparently, Idoing also sells one too, but there's no need for it if the camera is 12V.
Yea I bought it. My camera image is great in daytime but very grainy at night. Terrible camera image at night. Is there a fix for this other than replacing the camera?
