Synopsis: The power struggle within the Decepticons comes to a head when Zarak revolts against Galvatron.
**PLEASE NOTE: The credit sequence is incorrect. Cyclonus is actually voiced by Cynixbox now. Jon voiced him prior to this episode. Sorry to everyone for the error, we'll make sure it's updated for the next episode.
"Transformers G1 Returns!" (FKA "Transformers Unofficial") is an independently made continuation of the original "The Transformers" cartoon series made by Sunbow, picking up right where the last episode "The Rebirth, Part 3" left off. This mini series was created to demonstrate to Hasbro that a small independent film studio can produce a product of comparable quality to the original on a limited budget. It is our hope that we can generate enough interest in the project that Hasbro will consider an official online web series continuation of the G1 cartoon.
"Transformers G1 Returns!/Transformers Unofficial" and Fanatic Films INC are in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Hasbro. The Transformers characters, names, and likenesses are property and copyright of Takara Tomy/Hasbro and are used herein under the fair use principal as a derivative work. Please support the offical product.
This transformative remix work constitutes a fair-use of any copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US copyright law. Each of the 4 points of section 107 are addressed individually below with our comments following the *asteriks:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; *The purpose of this video series is to demonstrate to the copyright holder, Hasbro, that A) There is a sizable market for a continuation of their original cartoon series and B) Modern technology has advanced over the past 30 years to the point that a small group of independent film makers are able to produce a work of comparable quality to that of the original work on an extremely small budget. (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; *Like any remix, the original work is heavily featured however, it is used in a transformative nature as described in point 2. In addition, all storylines and dialogue are new and independant of the original work. A comparative ratio of new to original material would be difficult to gauge but in general, all visuals, sound effects and music are from the original work while all dialogue and storytelling angles are new material.
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work; *This series is being distributed solely for fans of the original "The Transformers" series which has not produced a new episode since 1987. It is not related to, nor meant to draw attention away from any current Transformers broadcasts by Hasbro. We ask that viewers watch all official Transformers media before watching this series. It would in fact, only make sense to a reasonable person to view the original work prior to this series since it follows the original work's fiction chronologically. It is also possible that this series may in fact create increased interest in Hasbro's "Generations" Transformers toyline which is related to the original Transformers series which this work is based upon since the original toyline saw a significant boost in sales due to it's supporting work of fiction at the time. Finally, given the use of the word "Unofficial" in the title and highly visible disclaimers before, after and in the video description of each episode stating that this work is in no way related to Hasbro, any reasonable person should be able to differentiate this from an official Hasbro product. I want to see this arcs conclusion. It doesn't pass perfectly, but it's perfectly passable.
So I've come back to this to rewatch now that I saw the new episode was out and wanted to see the rest of this "episode". Man I forgot how authentic this series, it really does feel like it's out of the 80s.

Good smooth video editing with the scenes, smart plottwists with cliffhanger storyline, good quality voice acting it draws you into the story and leaves me wanting more of the episodes. Great job Fanatic Films for all your hard work for us fans, you make me proud to be a Transformers G1 fan :-) Keep the Transformers G1 Story alive, endless stories to tell. I am waiting for the next episodes.

REVIEW: Wow, that was an AWESOME episode! ... I immediately recognized most of the animation at the start was from the episode Web World. But then the plot changed. ... Galvatron is my favorite character, so I was upset to see so many Decepticons plotting to remove Galvatron as their leader. But, the simple fact that I felt this emotion so strongly multiple times in this episode proves it IS an AWESOME episode! :) ... If Soundwave hadn't taken so long to tell Galvatron, things would have been different for him. ... I also thought the voices were very good this episode.
Keep up the great work. Can't wait for parts 2 & 3.

I'm glad y'all brought back original g1 transformers. all these other incarnations of the transformer they were nice. but nerve wrecking. these g1 transformers are a lot better than the transformers of today. keep up the great work. and yes who knows what the future holds with the tmnt cartoons from the late 80's to the mid 90's. especially since one of your actors does a great shredder and Krang. but these g1 transformers episode are so awesome.

Naw,we just love the challenge between Galvatron and Scorponock since well,its been an intense battle of the leaders which rung more to me when it comes to internal conflict. Much better than Megatron and Starscream imo.
Main differences between Starscream and Zarak is that Zarak an actual threat and capable leader and a worthy adversary he needs to take great care in countering. Starscream would usually stop his own schemes.

Wow, very cool. My "Transformers Season 5 DVD" page on Facebook took a vote several years ago, on what fans would like to see if Hasbro were to put out a direct to video sequel to the 86 movie, and THIS was pretty much the outcome of that vote. That is a classic line! The open call to anyone and everyone ends today but we will always give consideration to people with experience. We do however already have a pretty strong Megatron audition though....

Much as Jon Bailey did great work on Cyclonus's lines, i like the new actor for him! And while it took some time to grow on me, I like Galvatron's voice actor as well.
Episode itself was fun, can't wait to see where this storyline goes....even if I was hoping that you'd be introducing the Pretenders. Ah well!
Thanks! I'm glad people are enjoying Cynixbox's Cyclonus voice because I was a little worried people would be upset given how popular Jon's rendition was. It's hard to ignore a great performance like this though, particularly of a character who was voiced pretty inconsistently in the show (not performance wise but regarding tone and inflection). And don't give up on the Pretenders just yet! There's lots of episodes on the way!
I love how everyone's playing each other for fools, or at least think they are. It's nice so everyone thinks they're in control of the situation.
Also, I just realized, Six Shot is TFS DBZ Abridged's Nappa voice, isn't he?

Not exactly but we do have plans to involve Rodimus Prime more. Though not immediately following this episode.
i bet u get tons of emails about bringing back starscream and megatron into the series and will unicron play any role in the series since he was left out of the Japanese series....
Yes, a lot of people ask for them. Since the existing animation of Unicron is so limited there's no current plans to involve him but I do have a partially written story arc involving him so who knows? If we can get proper animating equipment it may happen!

Looking at the post credits we're going to get Overlord and Powermaster Prime? Interesting! Powermaster Prime is definitely where I'd take a theoretical Season 4 but surprised to see things like the classic cars, Starscream, Skyfire and a mention of Devcon in the credits. Skyfire especially.
Ironhide, Ratchet and the other Autobots killed were reintroduced in the first episode of this fan series. optimus prime explains that the old Autobots were reactivated with quintesson technology. A brilliant idea that may be applied to explain Prowl and Wheeljack presence in later Japanese series. Also Ironhide appears on a glimpse on a Headmasters episode on a shot with also Skyfire. After seeing this peculiar, well done fan series, one can imagine Optimus Prime was beginning to revive his fellow Autobots in Japanese continuity just like there.
He explained those first few things in the first 3-parter, Redux.

Two things:
1) TFW2005.com: Have you guys made mention of this project on the forums over there? I bet you would get ALOT more viewership if you did. Right now there is HUGE collecting of G1 Masterpiece toys and this show dovetails into that nicely.
2) Storyline: I think story-wise what you are doing is perfect. Zarak would definitely have it out for Galvatron. The power struggle between them was hinted at the end of the original G1, but was never allowed to go very far.
Very curious to see how you deal with this.
Number 2 is a plot point from Headmasters.
Thought you were going to throw some Pretenders in, ahaha.

Gonna go ahead and throw out a wild theory that Galvatron will be "killed" but then put back into his original body as Megatron. Weather or not he will be killed by Cybertron exploding or by the power of friendship like in Headmasters, who knows.

Galvatron survived Cybertron blowing up in his face, but later...

seen that battle between Galvatron and the autobot headmasters in the arctic circle and i bet it'll be a little different in this series since there that feud between Galvatron and zarak and i bet zarak destroy charr along with Galvatron but it'll be something to see similar to the cybertron in grave danger 2 part story arc....
who knows maybe in this story arc charr gets destroy instead of Cybertron and Galvatron vanish in explosion but returns somehow and wouldn't mind see powermaster Opimus prime killed galvatron instead of autobot headmaster

It sucks because this was a great unofficial continuation of the US show and attempt to blend the the US and Japanese G1 shows.
Sadly there hasn't been a new episode in years and unlikely to ever be but if anyone wants to take up the task I'd support their efforts.

In theory it would be possible to do with any cartoon however I think X men might be a bit tougher because there are so many different environments. TF is easy because it's basically either a desert, a city or Cybertron in most scenes.
it's 2022 and hoping for episode 105 part 2 and 3 and see what transpired between Galvatron and Zarak for control of the Decepitcon army and Autobots caught in middle of the feud

Thank you. It's a vocoder program call Yogen. It doesn't seem to be available anymore online unfortunately but there are other ways to reproduce the effect if you monkey around with the free Audacity program. It has a 'vocoder' setting (I couldn't make heads or tails of it though haha).
