By popular demand, the most recent story arc "Pretender to the Throne" edited into one long episode!
**The credit segment is well out of date: Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus are voiced by Cynixbox, Galvatron is voiced by Liam O'Donnell (last 3 lines and ongoing) and Perceptor is voiced by Ultra Marcus. Apologies to the voice actors but we will DEFINITELY update the credit sequence in time for the next proper episode!
"Transformers G1 Returns!" (formerly TFG1 Unofficial) is an independently made continuation of the original "The Transformers" cartoon series made by Sunbow, picking up right where the last episode "The Rebirth, Part 3" left off. This mini series was created to demonstrate to Hasbro that a small independent film studio can produce a product of comparable quality to the original on a limited budget. It is our hope that we can generate enough interest in the project that Hasbro will consider an official online web series continuation of the G1 cartoon.
"Transformers Unofficial" and Fanatic Films INC are in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Hasbro. The Transformers characters, names, and likenesses are property and copyright of Takara Tomy/Hasbro and are used herein under the fair use principal as a derivative work. Please support the offical product.
This transformative remix work constitutes a fair-use of any copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US copyright law. Each of the 4 points of section 107 are addressed individually below with our comments following the *asteriks:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; *The purpose of this video series is to demonstrate to the copyright holder, Hasbro, that A) There is a sizable market for a continuation of their original cartoon series and B) Modern technology has advanced over the past 30 years to the point that a small group of independent film makers are able to produce a work of comparable quality to that of the original work on an extremely small budget. (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; *Like any remix, the original work is heavily featured however, it is used in a transformative nature as described in point 2. In addition, all storylines and dialogue are new and independant of the original work. A comparative ratio of new to original material would be difficult to gauge but in general, all visuals, sound effects and music are from the original work while all dialogue and storytelling angles are new material.
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work; *This series is being distributed solely for fans of the original "The Transformers" series which has not produced a new episode since 1987. It is not related to, nor meant to draw attention away from any current Transformers broadcasts by Hasbro. We ask that viewers watch all official Transformers media before watching this series. It would in fact, only make sense to a reasonable person to view the original work prior to this series since it follows the original work's fiction chronologically. It is also possible that this series may in fact create increased interest in Hasbro's "Generations" Transformers toyline which is related to the original Transformers series which this work is based upon since the original toyline saw a significant boost in sales due to it's supporting work of fiction at the time. Finally, given the use of the word "Unofficial" in the title and highly visible disclaimers before, after and in the video description of each episode stating that this work is in no way related to Hasbro, any reasonable person should be able to differentiate this from an official Hasbro product. Thus, any negativity associated with this series should not impact Hasbro in any way.

This is what entertainment needs people with true passion for these ip. As long as these copy rights laws keep getting pushed back to favor the large corporations. We will never get true creative writing projects.

Still doing a heck of a good Job but here's one challenge for you guys Unicron will you involve him in future instillments and glad Starscream playing a role in the series since he probably backstab Zarak and Galvatron.

If you fall short on old footage, maybe it's an idea to use an AI that's trained on the three G1 seasons to generate new moving animations?! Then you would be able to create a whole new season. That would be great.

We were considering adding Unicron in but sadly there's just such limited material of him (aside from the movie which is leagues better in animation quality and would stick out like a sore thumb) that it would be too difficult to incorporate him into a story in any meaningful way.

Thank you for making this. The voice actors did a great job, and the part where Galvatron got damaged badly and went back to his "crazy" voice from Season 3 was a neat twist also.
I loved that part! A great nod to the past that adds lore to his character.
I remember watching the 3rd part on release and just getting so hyped when the Pretenders of all things showed up. I wasn't expecting anything beyond Headmasters.

to be honest, that was awesome. It really took me back to my schooldays, watching G1 back as mom got me ready for kindergarten it felt just like the real episodes so huge thank you. Keep making these as you have some very talented folk there and hopefully Hasbro and/ or Sunbow Productions have jobs for you all. Til All Are One!

Not only I love re dud english episode but I totally love animation recycle both U.S. and Japanese transformers G1, Headmasters and Masterforces. The recycle animation remaid me Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994). When I watch Animated cartoon I do like recycle animation. But we love new more animation bangers.

Frank Welker is the Original Voice of Megatron but it is wise that the actor retained but he change his voice instead of retaining it as Megatron's voice

This show is Michael Bay didn't have a clue when making them live non action Transformers movies. Mega Cudos for making this episode that I believe is a fitting follow up to The Rebirth episode #3. Simply amazing & put my frown upside down. 😃

Michael Bay is just the director. He isn't the script writer. Also, live-action movies are just too costly. If they had more transformers or focused on them, the CGI cost would be humongous, and the movie would be 20 minutes long. Transformers just aren't suited to live action movies.
I am not even a fan of the movies, but Bay does not deserve all the hate. Do you know that without the Bay movies, the franchise would be dead now? The franchise was dying back in the early 2000s, but the Bay movies saved it. New fans bought all the leftover stuff from old toylines and Hasbro got enough money for new projects like the games, Transformers Animated, Transformers Prime, etc. You should be grateful to Bay.

We were actually planning that since there's so much footage with Megatron in it and so little of OP and Galvatron together but we felt that would be a bit too much of a rehash. Never know tho, there's always future episodes and we need new ideas so can't write it off completely!

I just discovered these by accident... This is amazing. I'm 51. Big G1 fan are they're any other episodes or are these the only ones coz this kicks ass
Even though the Japanese Headmaster series was a clunky mess that doesn't really appeal to western audiences and at times doesn't feel like Transformers with the silliness, posing and canned animations; the overall animation was solid and they introduced some interesting concepts like establishing Autobot bases on other worlds. I'd love to see some of that incorporated in any way possible. It would also be cool to see Cerebro and Fort Max again. Maybe the different head could be explained by the fact that Cerebro, Fort Max and by extension Spike are becoming increasingly more merged or something, so Cerebro changed his head to look more like Fortress Maximus. This could start happening to all of the Nebulons and would allow you to use more of the footage from the Headmaster show. It would explain why you don't see them really without thier exosuits, because of the binary bonding they take them off less and less often, preferring to be Transformers. (And just mention something somewhere that undoes the Daniel / Arcee bond.)

The "Masters" were always some of my favorite toys and again the Headmaster comic mini series and the issues where they take Optimus Prime's memory chip back to Nebulos for them to rebuild are probably some of the most well written issues of the comic in my opinion.
I really hope you're able to work them in as much as possible. Didn't catch a lot of Masterforce but I'm thinking if the animation blends well enough, maybe it could be explained that the headmaster and targetmaster tech was reverse engineered and then used to create the powermasters. Since Prime dies in the first few episodes of headmasters, its possible you'll run out of animation to reuse and so that might be a way to be able to extend him out a ways.
Anyway, I'm sharing this with every Transformers fan I know. Hope your channel blows up and you are able to keep this going for quite a while.
Well done to all a great voice over of clips combined to a new story and even good to see missing characters like Devcon pop in for a second.
This is brilliant! How am I now just finding this channel!? Love the voice overs and story, with Prime finally thinking like a leader that must make choices that end the Decepticons. And the absolute loyalty of Soundwave was so awesome.

I always hated that the cartoon ended while there was still so much to cover and always loved the way the comics kept going and handled the Nebulons, Powermaster Prime, introduced the pretenders, etc.
Obviously like most Americans, never knew about the Japanese continuations until the advent of the net.
Never really thought about it before but between the original show, all the japanese stuff (headmasters, etc.), and other visually similar 80's anime for background scenes and extras; there's got to be enough content available for a talented editor like yourself to keep going for awhile. Really hope to see more!

Optimus prime receives info from counterpunch about the deception pretenders, meanwhile deceptions Pretenders along with seacons attack a city but help on the way.
Desert of dispair
Overlord challenges Optimus prime duel out in the desert meanwhile Zarak plans to eliminate galvatron however starscream offers his services.
The human factor
Zarak recruits humans into his headmaster/powermaster program but the autobots learned of Zarak plans and the autobots recriut 3 special children for the headmaster Jr program and prime gets a new upgrade!
Mysterious island
A Mysterious volcano erupted an island is formed meanwhile 3 humans chosen for the powermaster process elsewhere overlord along with group of deceptions headed to a newly formed island but draws attention of Optimus prime!
Darkside of the moon
Zarak sends overlord to the moon to await for the arrival, but brave maximus is in Hot pursuit of mega zarak meanwhile prime preparing to leave for the moon to battle overlord!
(Note: new name for mega Zarak so won't be 2 characters with the same name of Zarak)

This is really well done. A few plot holes with some dead Autobots appearing and the Ark / Volcano suddenly being un-destroyed, but all in all a great fan project 👏🏽

I just started this video, and I already like this voice for Galvatron better than the one from the original cartoon.
Glad you liked it. I really enjoyed the actor's (Nathan Dang) performance as well but a lot of people wanted the Welker style voice so we switched to a new actor at the end of this episode.

I thought Autobot headquarters was destroyed in "Five Faces of Darkness" mini-series. Many of the original Autobots were killed in the movie.
Interesting to note that the Decepticons were so powerful back on Cybertron that they conquered it, yet they continually failed here on Earth, and I think I know why. First off, back on Cybertron they concentrated on flying alt modes, that meant they controlled the surface (but not the interior, that was Autobot territory due to their surface effect alt modes). But when the Transformers got to Earth, the need to blend in means that while the Decepticons were tracked by both humans and Autobots (all flight is monitored), the Autobots weren't. Moreover, the Autobots allied with the humans to an extent, so the Autobots could set up shop near a human city and get resources easily, WHILE not being trackable by the Decepticons.
How did Ironhide, Ratchet, Wheeljack, the Ark, and Mt. St. Hilary all get restored? Nice work otherwise. Just confused by the dead walking.

Prime came back when the Quintessons repaired him and Bumblebee never died! Ironhide, Wheeljack, Ratchet and Prowl all DIED during the movie and their bodies were destroyed along with the deep space mausoleum, so no chance of them being repaired by the Quints.

I think this is the first time I’ve watched a fan made thing like this that feels like it could actually be from g1. The characters sound like themselves. Voice acting and effects on the voices are good. Obviously has its flaws being made out of old footage but really excellent story all round. Great to see old favourites have been resurrected. I’m sure the quintessons would want to fix ironhide too!

I just heard of these and watched them all today, great work! Each episode has had neat character moments that made me smile a bit,, and the mixing of different footage sources works so well. I've never been a very active transformers fan, but I love how these continue off of The Rebirth so well, really making it into a great branch to compare and contrast against Headmasters, really living the dream through everyone's hard work on the project. I hope you're able to make more!
As a sidenote, I want to say I really like Jon Bailey's performance as Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus, too! (there's a lot of good voices, and honestly, voice acting is so hard I respect anybody who gives it a go- I wouldn't have it in me.)
