Transformers G1 RETURNS! Episode 106: Pretender to the Throne Part 2 Unofficial Fan-made New Episode

"Transformers G1 Returns!" (FKA "Transformers Unofficial") is an independently made continuation of the original "The Transformers" cartoon series made by Sunbow, picking up right where the last episode "The Rebirth, Part 3" left off. This mini series was created to demonstrate to Hasbro that a small independent film studio can produce a product of comparable quality to the original on a limited budget. It is our hope that we can generate enough interest in the project that Hasbro will consider an official online web series continuation of the G1 cartoon.
"Transformers G1 Returns!/Transformers Unofficial" and Fanatic Films INC are in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Hasbro. The Transformers characters, names, and likenesses are property and copyright of Takara Tomy/Hasbro and are used herein under the fair use principal as a derivative work. Please support the offical product.
This transformative remix work constitutes a fair-use of any copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US copyright law. Each of the 4 points of section 107 are addressed individually below with our comments following the *asteriks:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; *The purpose of this video series is to demonstrate to the copyright holder, Hasbro, that A) There is a sizable market for a continuation of their original cartoon series and B) Modern technology has advanced over the past 30 years to the point that a small group of independent film makers are able to produce a work of comparable quality to that of the original work on an extremely small budget. The use of this video series is not commercial in nature, it is hosted on a non-monetized TH-cam account and the creators do not profit from the material in any way. The purpose of posting the videos online publicly is to generate enough views and interest that the copyright holder will take notice and respond to fans wishes of continuing the original series. Secondly, since no official continuation of the original work exists, publicly posting this unofficial continuation benefits the members of the public who wish to see the storyline continued.
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work; *The original work is an animated series of light hearted stories aimed at children which were for the most part, individual stories independent from one another. Our work meets the definition of "transformative" or "derivative" as this series seeks to present an overarching storyline throughout the entire series with harsher tones aimed at an adult audience.
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; *Like any remix, the original work is heavily featured however, it is used in a transformative nature as described in point 2. In addition, all storylines and dialogue are new and independant of the original work. A comparative ratio of new to original material would be difficult to gauge but in general, all visuals, sound effects and music are from the original work while all dialogue and storytelling angles are new material.
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work; *This series is being distributed solely for fans of the original "The Transformers" series which has not produced a new episode since 1987. It is not related to, nor meant to draw attention away from any current Transformers broadcasts by Hasbro. We ask that viewers watch all official Transformers media before watching this series. It would in fact, only make sense to a reasonable person to view the original work prior to this series since it follows the original work's fiction chronologically. It is also possible that this series may in fact create increased interest in Hasbro's "Generations" Transformers toyline which is related to the original Transformers series which this work is based upon since the original toyline saw a significant boost in sales due to it's supporting work of fiction at the time. Finally, given the use of the word "Unofficial" in the title and highly visible disclaimers before, after and in the video description of each episode stating that this work is in no way related to Hasbro, any reasonable person should be able to differentiate this from an official Hasbro product. Thus, any negativity associated with this series should not impact Hasbro in any way.

That was really amazing! I loved seeing Skyfire, and even those who "died" in the movie, back in action! Optimus Prime better roll out and bash those Deceptibums! Lol!
They were resurrected using quentession technology.
Growing up with Transformers in the 80's, I am really heartened that this work is so faithful to the source. I hope you do Rodimus Prime justice in this continuation. Would live to see some more titan battles too.

I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the future the industry realizes they can just continue the old animated tv shows of the 80s and 90s and make plenty of people happy again. Who needs crappie new shows when you can just continue the old. Too bad my other favorite show from the 80s and 90s the Rescue Rangers doesn't get such a fan continuation like this.
I agree! They kind of already have with the He-man continuation although that didn't work for some of the audience. At least they're on the right track though!
He-man's continuation would've been better if they didn't make it so dramatic and less humorous. And kept the show of the music the same the action on the show could've still been more aggressive. While being campy. That's why it became a problem. They forgot what made the he-man show of the 80's so good. This transformers continuation is pure genius.
@@jameswilliams6147 Hey James, sorry for the uber-late reply - I just saw your message but had to reply as I 100% agree with your take on the He-Man continuation. IMO, they should've stuck closer to the original format only with more modern storytelling and less reliance on drama. It's meant to be a kid's show that adults can get a nostalgic kick out of. That's what we've tried to do with our series and I'm glad you're enjoying it! If you feel really passionate about it, check out our "About" page on our channel and send Hasbro a message. I believe if enough people express their opinion, Hasbro will eventually cave and just let us do an official continuation on TH-cam but they'll never do it without your support.

it would be so cool having megatron come back and him and galvatron going against eachother and teaming up later just to manipulate each other. That would be cool gun megatron vs cannon blaster galvatron.
The sentences that make up the dialog are less simple and childlike than the original.

just discovered the project. I always wondered why the first three episodes of the fourth installment stopped after the Rebirth. Rebirth is aiming for a very interesting direction with the target and head masters.
just watched episodes from 99 to 106, and it seems like a third part is coming for Pretender to the Throne. is it coming anytime soon? just asking.
I'm pretty glad you guys made it all up to what unofficial Transformers G1 is. will Fort Max be part of the series someday? he's a big addition to the series, tmho.
so I subscribed and I too wish there will be more G1 coming from Hasbro, given the 3D design they made for the Prime Wars Trilogy, wishing they don't go along with "the gods" like Megatronus which doesn't even look like a transformer to me. but the Combiner Wars and Titans Return is good, except for this overstrong Trypticon and Starscream thing. it's like story lines broke and this makes me sick of Transformers. on the other hand, it's like I never have enough of the Transformers.

I hate chromedome, he sucks. He's given the main role in headmasters. In usa Rebirth he only had 1 line. Highbrow and Brainstorm were much more interesting

I'm really sorry if I didn't know the character too well. The only thing I know of these guys was through the Omni dubs of Headmasters since I grew up with it. I guess that's the benefit of a small robot with a giant body since you're basically the robot itself and not 2 guys in one body.
Weirdwolf was a lot smarter in Headmasters though kinda a stooge but managed to get some kills when he was going though a lot of planets with Galvatron and had a small rivalry with Chromedome thought pales in comparison to Chromedome's ultimate goal - Sixshot. Weirdwolf was sadly practice.

Haha wow, thanks for the detailed review! Yeah, we decided to go in a different direction with Weirdwolf. His scenes in our show just make him appear to be a bit of a dimwit so that's where his voice actor (the legendary Cynixbox) decided to go with him.

Any chance you guys will actually build this series up nd expand on the g1 animared mythology wise concerning the build up in time series of events wise that lead into the great reformatting photo form upgrade pre beast wars wise?
I would like to see it connecting to Transformers Victory.
We've got nothing concrete planned after the next 4 episode story arc which will serve as the ending of this current season. Once this season is completed we are going to request permission from Hasbro to create some new animation to add in to future episodes so if they approve that, anything will be possible.
We have considered that but I really don't know much about Victory, I've never even seen the entire series tbh. My colleague Jamar is far more knowledgeable regarding the Japanese stuff as he's based in Japan. Once this season is over, we will be putting our heads together to decide the future direction of this series so like I told the OP, anything is possible!

I hope they bring back Megatron and spike from the past. Along with his dad in a special episode and I hope they bring back starscream,, thundercracker and sky warp. Along with reflector. It would be cool to see a Megatron getting a close encounter with galvatron and Soundwave being confused and starscream causing choas between Megatron and galvatron

Scorpanok recruited Starscream into the Dcepticon army and uninspected return of an old foe!

Galvatron now leads the Dcepticons once more and along his new recruits and meanwhile on Earth Optimus Prime reappeared and has

Galvatron sent his new warriors to terminate Optime Prime and meanwhile Zarak gets a makeover and new body as well from a devil enity!
cool nice. I hope y'all keep rodimus and especially optimus around for awhile. But here's episode idea. but it's up to y'all. "choas on cybertron" megatron arises along with reflector, starscream, thunder cracker and sky warp with the help of the constructions megatron attacks rodimus. but rodimus beats him and makes him and the rest of the old decepticons retreat. they head to another distant planet where galvatron cyclonus and sweeps are attacking kup, arcee ultra magnus, spike and his son. megatron blasts galvatron twice out of nowhere and leaves those autobots to finish him off. megatron contacts letting him know he's back. and zarak also finds out. and megatrons is too use cybertron to conquer earth again. ultra magnus along with rest of the autobots come to cybertron to check on rodimus. megatron and the old old decepticons try to steal energy from the earth. but the autobots on earth including the head and target masters stop him. megatron and starscream have their usual bickering zarak calls up megatron and the old decepticons and talks a deal with him to take over the decepticons again. the quinntessons are ease dropping on it and they come up with a plan. megatron has astrotrain take him and the decepticons back to cybertron rodimus contacts optimus and asks for his help on cybertron. because trypticon and the other decepticons have ambushed them. but as there defeating them they are attacked by starscream thunder cracker and sky warp. reflector is on earth taking pictures of more energy megatron can steal. meanwhile omega Supreme comes to cybertron with sky fire and optimus with rest of the autobots have been ambushed ultra and rodimus are recuperating. meanwhile galvatron arrives on cybertron with more decepticons and at the same time megatron arrives with more decepticons that are back to following him and a big war breaks out rodimus ultra and optimus are attacked. but ultra follows megatron in a lab on cybertron and they battle while rodimus and optimus are fighting the decepticon headmaster. but the other decepticons are trying to destroy alpha Trion but ultra magnus knocks megatron into an electrical surge that stops scorponok and the rest of the decepticons that's attacking sky Lynx and the rest of the autobots that are arriving on cybertron. megatron and galvatron see eachother and is ready to engage in combat. but optimus and rodimus stop them. and there's a continuation. but I'll let yall decide.
