    That's definitely quick enough Johnny, anyone who's had a motorbike won't probably get it, but I know 40mph + on a bicycle frame is really going some. Do you find as I do, that 40mph is okay on throttle but scary and sketchy as hell when you peddle these speeds! I've had about 43mph out of My triangle build, but need to GPS it instead of relying on the KT LCD 8H display for a more accurate reading.
    Brilliant stuff again Johnny
    Cheers

      Exactly mate it's quick enough on a mtb frame without having to worry about peddling. I won't be making a habit of this. Some lcd displays are accurate and some are like cars and motorcycles they tend to be about 10% out. This 1 is very close only a few mph out.
      Cheers mate and would be interesting to know what yours could do.

    This has made my day! Great video showing what we want to see.
    I want one of these kits! Currently on a 2000 watt 52 volt, which is fine, but I know how much more fun a 3kw 60 volt kit would be.

    Hows the hill climbing on this direct drive? Would a 2000 watt geared hub motor be better for steep hills?

    • @motomachinezuk8786
      @motomachinezuk8786  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is and has more way more torque on hills than my rv800 but that's only because of its power. The 1000w rear geared bafang is very competent on hills similar to my old 2000w direct drive .

      I'm not exactly sure yet I'm still testing. Conservatively riding with some assistance I did 25 miles and had 75% battery left. I'm still learning it and carrying out multiple test to work out range at different speeds etc.. massive battery from just throttle at 15mph it would expect to easily achive 50 miles with some good hills.

    Cool Kit! I have that same spec kit (on a specialized rockhopper) 3000W but with a 72V battery. With flat road tires it does 54mph, which is scary fast on a pedal bike. And the range is huge! I can go 50 miles at 20-30mph and have > 50% battery left. I can pedal assist 1 at 13mph all day and have 90% battery left. Love that kit! Where is the controller on that bike? Is that that package hanging off the side?

      @@pnewt8458 72V 25ah. I converted my wife's old MTB with an eBikling kit, 1500w 52v 16ah. That thing does 42mph. Their wiring harness is really good. Much better than my order direct from China kit. And in pedal assist 1 I've seen her pedal that bike for 3 days without a recharge. Probably about 30 miles a day. She weighs about 110lbs. Hub motors are great for the road but overheat in continuous steep mountain conditions. I've burned up a few controllers and melted wiring more than once.

    When I was a teen (80s) we would tweak our 50 or 80cc 2 stroke engines and turn our mopeds or small trail bikes into illegal speedster as well.
    Electric was not available at the time.
    Working on gas engines required more work and more skills. Filling metal, tuning carburetors, experimenting with various pistons, compression ratios, fuels, gear ratio, exhausts…
    50 mph was not a great achievement although not too bad for an entry level moped.
    Cops would occasionally nail us not so much for excessive speed but for excessive noise.
    At least these electric rigs are quiet!
    I think I would have picked a relatively high end road race bike and wheels for such a fast bike: these frames are designed for high speed. Braking will be an issue, however. Bicycles don’t brake hard: you’ll go over the handle bar.
    Another option for a fast bike might be a long wheel base downhill bike: the braking may be ok. However the riding position is very upright.

    Looked like you were going uphill too, to be able to slow down, so I would agree that it can get to 50, which is mad, mine got to 38 at power mode 4 with a similar battery except it was 72v, but I did not feel comfortable going any faster because the handling of the bike didn't feel as stable as others i've used. Does it not say how much power is being used on the display there ? e-bike builders should probably emphasize this isn't something young people should be doing, you need to already have a lot of experience riding various different bikes and also mechanical work and common sense / knowledge of road safety.

    • @motomachinezuk8786
      @motomachinezuk8786  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's is a fair comment about ebike builders, I shall mention that sometime. Yes the screen does show watts I've noticed it over 3500. When I got a full battery it's more.
      Would also help if I had 40psi in both tyres for so less resistance.

      @@motomachinezuk8786 whats your thoughts on this type of bike in general ? seems like you've mostly been riding your other ones. For me these were fun to go around the local area and did ok off road but not really much better than my old mountain bike with the 48v 1500w motor. I like the acceleration but the high speeds are not practical to do often so I wonder whats the point of it. With the stealth bomber I was able to do longer range at similar speeds and its got better features all around, my other bikes are also probably more comfortable to ride for long periods.

      Should be a peak of exactly 4032 watts on this setup on a fully charged battery. You'd be getting over 3000w of power output until approximately 50%. (Voltage times amps)

    • @Floridaprophet
      @Floridaprophet หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’d be surprised how much a hub motor can handle if winded properly, there are a lot of hubs like these out there that for example are rated 48v 1000w but really end up getting 60v batteries and 2500w pushed through them no problem bc they’re built to handle it.
      I’ve learned that as long as your controller can handle the amps being pulled from the battery, if it’s a decently built hub motor, a moderate/reasonable boost in voltage is almost never going to fry it. A lot of hubs out there that are rated for 1000-2000w that can handle 3000-4000 continuous
