    I’m getting a front wheel drive Corolla Cross because I want a spare tyre.

    I waited 12 months for mine. I bought an Atmos hybrid, and I'm very happy with it. I get 4.7 l/100k.

    I like everything about it except for its low hanging exhaust pipe which is really an eyesore and could potentially gets damaged easily when you drive it in an unpaved rocky roads. (see what I mean at 2:48 )

    I own AWD Atmos, 2023 model. Some corrections to the video: the Hybrid Atmos kerb weight is 1480kg (2WD) and 1550kg (AWD). The AWD has no spare wheel BUT it has a +7 litres larger fuel tank compared to 2WD Hybrid (36 litres 2WD hybrid, 43 litres AWD hybrid). The 1380kg kerb weight applies to the petrol base model only, not to a hybrid and not Atmos either. The AWD only applies when the car detects any kind of a slippage in the front suspection, so in normal driving the rear wheel drive motor does not do anything.

    I’ve had the car for a couple of weeks, at first I thought it was a bit noisy because of the CVT and way underpowered in Eco mode. Then I started putting non-ethanol gasoline in it, and it ran much better in Eco mode,l. I now have better fuel economy with less noise. I got the XSE and am pretty happy with it.

    • @yuribudilov5638
      @yuribudilov5638 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      FWIW - note the fuel economy on ethanol fuel is ~3% *worse* than using the regular unleaded petrol/gasoline (in Australia it is 91 RON = 87 AKI/MON in USA). You might get better performance and better fuel economy if you switch to using regular 100% unleaded (zero ethanol) and then use the Normal mode instead of slow ECO mode. My Toyota dealer service said the ECO, Sport and EV modes are not overly useful. They recommended to drive the car in Normal mode most or all of the time. USA uses MON for unleaded, so USA 87 MON = 91 RON Australia. You can put higher 91 MON USA which is = 95 RON in Australia but you will not get any performance or fuel economy benefits from it. The car will take it, no problems at all, but you would be wasting money. I tried using even the higher 93 MON = 98 RON Australian unleaded and it was a total waste of my money. In Europe they sell 95 RON (91 MON) and also E10 95RON fuels which these cars use there. There is no 87 MON = 91 RON sold in Europe, the lowest unleaded is 91 MON/95 RON.

    Awesome video. Most reviews seem to not mention one of the most advanced features on the Atmos and its a shame, Advanced park assist/parking the car for you.

      @@ProductReviewCars it's a popular car in many regions, maybe not in your area that's why. Yes it looks funny in pictures but in real life the proportions is more understandable. Its crazy how popular this model is but nearly no English reviews. The Corolla Fielder is more known and practical than even the Corolla Cross.

    • @yuribudilov5638

      in Australia (not USA, not EU) the Corolla Hybrid Hatch has only a 1.8 litre hybrid engine, with ~20% less power and torque compared to Corolla Cross hybrid 2.0 engine. The 2024 Corolla hybrid hatchback is cheaper to buy and is easier to park than larger Corolla Cross. In EU and USA Corolla hatchback hybrid can also be bought with 2.0 litre engine but sadly this is not offered in Australia in 2024. I dont know why Toyota decided this.

    This car may seem a little small for me at 6'3" but I'd sure like to have a car with the steering wheel on the right side instead of left side which is standard here in the US. That is a beautiful car and that RED looks amazing!

      A taxi driver told me recently the hybrid battery (Toyota Camry hybrid) cost him about $3000 to replace, it was done after 10 years, ~350,000km (>210,000 miles). Toyota hybrid battery warranty is actually 10 years. The 10 years of gasoline fuel savings driving a Toyota hybrid versus pure gasoline Toyota will more than pay for the new battery, if you ever need it. Most taxis in Australia and in Europe are now Hybrid Toyota. This is the most reliable and longest lasting car you can buy today. Nobody is driving 100%-gasoline powered taxi Toyota any longer. They just dont last as long, Toyota has been making hybrid cars since 1997, there plenty of experience there. Bonus: the hybrid Toyota is actually faster accelerating than the equivalent gasoline model.

      Regenerative braking means far, far less brake wear, and a "transmission" which will last the life of the car with minimal maintenance - and a battery with 10yrs unlimited km warranty - you're miles in front.
      Certainly not $50k - take the zero off and you'd be close. It's a tiny battery, not like the ½ tonne monsters in EVs.

    • @kdegraa
      @kdegraa 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In Australia a hybrid Toyota costs around $3k more than the equivalent petrol powered car. This is not a huge price premium on what is a small battery, an electric motor on the front end, cabling and what is now the excellent Toyota hybrid management system.
      The hybrid will also provide a better driving experience, especially when starting up or driving in traffic.
      The vast majority of new Toyota’s that have a hybrid option are sold with the hybrid option.
