Purely narrative but my two shi tzus are 21 and 22 . They’ve been on NMN and joint supplements for last 5 years.
Still enjoying quality of life. I have been taking supplements including 1,5000 mg NMN for 20 years, will be 80 in August and recently walked from Vienna to Northern Italy on the European Peace walk. Guess it proves nothing except I’m not stopping and neither are my dogs. Thanks Marcel- you’re not down some rabbit hole-you are chasing the truth!

The WSJ is really very effective as independent journalists. After all, they broke this story for the public broadly... When this article first appeared, I wrote to the authors (any reader can), summarizing the facts about NMN, the letter to the FDA from David Sinclair's company Metro International Biotech (which I saw here), and the action taken by the FDA. I included links to background on NMN, and a link to the "NPA and ANH Petition the FDA Concerning NMN’s Classification as an Investigational New Drug". I received a direct email reply from Alex Janin, one of the WSJ story's authors: He wrote "Thanks for reading and reaching out. We're aware of this and looking into it."

Yes agree with some other followers.
You look bright & more young.
So we keep on following you & some other podcast owners I find honest.
I found many positive effects on my health. With NMN 1 gr a day, I feel lost.
    I'm 69 this year.
    So I'm doing well.
What happened to Dr David's father? any news?
I feel that he'll discover something new in 2024 and then come in front of the public again
    Thank you from London☔️
Very informative video cause I was beginning to worry as well.
    🙏💙💊

I agree something is off. Our high probability of something not creating purely honest journalism.
The sad thing is I think these tactics work, the greater public will not get exposed to NMN or best longevity practices. However, “ we” watch this channel, take longevity and health seriously …. We can unearth best practices, …for the most part.

I agree with you about age reversal does not mean longer life span. I had five male rats on NMN for 9 months (equivalent to being on it for human 19 years) from middle age until death. Their lifespan did not increase, nor did improvement of any normal disease process, nor did they escape the usual decline. They got the same usual diseases but maybe lived with them a bit longer which just meant longer treatment time and costs of medication, which just got expensive. This does not mean NMN was working. None lived longer than my longest ever lived rats, (who were never on NMN), none even lived to the accepted span of rats (3 years). All fell well-short. They all died smack bang at about when they usually die. I did not have any running on treadmills while their compatriots failed like Sinclair's mice. Possibly one rat lived longer because when I got him his issues were great and he lived a lot longer than I anticipated, but also heavily medicated with many drugs so it's hard to see if NMN actually helped, but he did not live what is for a rat, a long life. All the rats I've ever kept who made it to three and some well over three had one thing in common: they were not pet shop rats. They did not come from indiscriminately bred stock, like many pet rats do.. My exceptionally long lived rats all came from breeders, who were invested in improving genetic lines for health and longevity. Of course my experiment was anecdotal and not scientific, but it's in the real world where this stuff is used, and my results make me doubt it has longevity effects. I can't know for sure. I should do a video, I documented it. I do still take it myself, I'm not a total naysayer.

It wasn't doing a thing for me (on it for a few years) . I started with half a gram
ending with 1.5 grams. Yes took TMC with it. Gave up on it a few months ago.

There have been some people, apparently incl. some of Sinclair's former colleague scientists, claiming that (some of) his studies about longevity supplements are likely fraudulent / effect hugely exaggerated (to continue to get funds). There was something e.g. about the yeast stuff that was off, don't remember details. But apparently, there were problems with replicating his studies.

    • @ainenilaoire
      @ainenilaoire 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

You're right. Resveratrol was the study that coukdn't be replicated. He got huge money when he sold it on but the company he sold it to couldn't replicate the study results so they ended up put of pocket. Sinclair kept the money.

  • @alanritchie8890

The good news is that it probably works on most people and would cheaply and conveniently allow a few more useful years.
The bad news is that some other peeople are noticing the potential for controlling what could become a chemical as lucrative as statins, and that might actually work.
Sinclair already has form as witnessed by his sale of a previous corporate venture into resveratol that netted a paltry few million.
'Bigger fish to net this time.'
Good luck 99%... We'll need it.
