    Purchased these speakers a few weeks ago in piano black.
    They sounded horrible new out of the box, but after several hours of breaking them in they now sound amazing.
    Very good review, you nailed the midrange perfectly.
    Having a slightly recessed mid has made some of my in your face recorded music sound better while not affecting my other less forward sounding music that much. A compromise that works for me.
    Pair these with a descent sub and wow look out.

      You don’t need a sub with these speakers as they are good all rounders. You will be taking away the audiophile clarities by adding a subwoofer.

    Nice review. I used to have the QUAD 606 and really liked it. Your front end should match well with the RP600M.

      Hi Thomas thank you for the comment ! I agree great amp the Quad 606 very similar to the 909. The combo of the Schiit Freya+ and 909 produce a nice musical presentation and enables me to get a good impression of the potential locked-up in each speakers system...👍🙋‍♂️

      @@TheAudioCouple yeah you're welcome! Thanks for providing quality content. I had the last gen of the speaker (rp160m) as well as the 600m and am happy you're going to give a sub a try. The sound really opens up alot and adds a fuller more enjoyable experience ☺️ I hope you keep enjoying these speakers! I am actually running two 160ms and two 600ms in my small room theater as the mains and surrounds. They pair beautifully together. I have to say these speakers are alot less shouty as compared to the last gen

    My 2 cents: I got 50% off on a Yamaha RN 402 + Klipsch RP 600M combo. I didn’t like the speakers at first. But the midrange was brought forward over time. On most tracks (especially rap) the Klipsch sound amazing. But on some tracks (especially classic rock), the Klipsch sound a bit cold and flat.

    I just got some (10/25/2019), Black Friday sale price under $500 a pair.
    Unlike some internet trolls, I have heritage (Crites upgrades) and reference klipsch as well as other speakers to compare. I am not making general or interpolated statements.
    My 600M are mated to a 15" sealed sub. I have had the opportunity to listen for several hours to a wide swath of genres.
    The klipsch exhibit NONE, as in NO TRACE of the older models upper midrange harshness or horn shout.
    They will not appeal to the "Boutique" listeners who want ever-so-gentle, laid-back treble and "calm" midrange.
    A bit forward is a great thing. Music is simply more realistic and alive than on a dozen or more brands I could name, have owned or auditioned at length.
    These are a true refinement of not just klipsch, but horn loaded speakers in general. They punch way above thier price and weight, and represent a solid milestone and sound standard for under a grand.

    • @TheAudioCouple
      @TheAudioCouple  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi myplayguestify good question!
      Both are exceptional in their own right. It is unbelievable what these true masters of the speaker empires are capable of especially if you consider the 6.5 inch midwoofers they have implemented. I didn't want to have a shootout but I guess this question is in the back of the minds of many enthusiasts. In my opinion the 606 is slightly ahead due to the excellent projection of the midrange couple with the way they convey musical content. But the Klipsch is ahead on bass response...I guess it will come down to personal preference. You can't go wrong with either one of these 👍🙋‍♂️ Thank you for your support!

    Good review Nimrod, I think it was rather honest. My experience with high efficiency loudspeakers with relatively small drivers is that they either don't extent very low in the frequency range, or are limited in power handling (low x-max), and/or no baffle step compensation are added (meaning it needs to be placed closer to the rear wall. What trade-offs was done here if I may ask? It seems the low frequency extension is good, so any comments on the other two points?

    • @TheAudioCouple
      @TheAudioCouple  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Norval thank you for your comments and inquiry. For me it is always important what the real-world performance of audio reproduction equipment is, especially in the home environment. It is really astonishing what the masters of the loudspeaker empires (thinking B&W, KEF, Monitor Audio and Klipsch - top of mind) can achieve (due to their extensive research and development teams, budgets and or investments) with their bookshelf bass reflex designs - given the asking price. Thus in short if we consider speaker design I think all the right design tick boxes were ticked in the case of the RP-600M's - thus they found the right balance between driver extension (x-max limit) and or versus power handling (more challenging at the frequency extremes). As you know - no speaker is perfect and it is typically a compromise between various design considerations and or limiting factors - hence if you balance these carefully you are in for a winning product - especially if you can keep the costs within limits to make the end result affordable. This is what Klipsch have achieved here...not perfect but excellent at the asking price. Some comments on room speaker placement - again we all live in homes which are non ideal when it comes to "acoustics", and typically we place speakers closer to walls because of practicality - thus if a speaker can produce good reproduction results close to the rear walls, all the better - but it is up to the listener to find the ideal spot which they deem ideal for their preference and or situation, again here the Klipsch is quite flexible...if you have an opportunity it will be great if you can audition the RP-600M's or even the RP-500M's. Kind regards

    • @eleven17productions
      @eleven17productions 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the response Nimrod. Not implementing any baffle step, or very little is of course not always bad. I've designed my own speakers with between 4 and 6 db compensation, and due to room size I'm thinking of changing that to between 0 and 2 db.
      Two speakers makes that I'm rather curious to hear are Bentley and then Harbeth. Maybe a tip for future reviews? :-)

    • @TheAudioCouple

      Hi Vikas, thank you for your inquiry. The Sixes has a warmer tone in general in comparison to the 600s. If you have powerful amplification the 600s will go louder than the Sixes. But taken the overall value into consideration the Sixes will be the winner.

      Hi Miles. Thank you for your inquiry and congratulations on receiving such excellent Christmas gifts. The RP-600M when paired with a powerful amplifier (more than 120 Watts rms at 8 ohms) has to potential to full larger listening areas with good quality sound. If the area where you want to deploy the 600Ms is larger than the current Sixes' area and you have a powerful amplifier to drive then - then yes I will go with the 600Ms. But hey those Sixes are special indeed! Although the 600s are excellent and aimed more at the stereo purists and or home theater audiences...the Sixes are more versatile and overall I enjoyed their sound more than with the 600s. The Sixes has that magical nice warm tone to them...that reminds one of good tube amps...but on the other hand the 600s can play cleaner and louder than the Sixes.
