    Hey Tharbamar,
I recently compared (in store) the 706 S2 against similarly priced Totem Sky (which I own) and found the bass to be faster and tighter on the Sky. Compared to the Sky there was a slight overall muddiness with the 706. BUT...I do think, that being said, I might still prefer the 706 as they have a fuller sound with wider sound stage and smoother upper mids and treble (better tweeter). Would need an in home demo or for you to get hold of a pair of Skys and save me the trouble. One thing I do like about the Skys is their small footprint on the other hand my room is rather large and the 5'' mid/bass driver struggles to fill it.

Good job Thamar ! I wish you'd try out the Polk LSIM so smooth with crazy bass and crazy build quality also !! If you live in US , maybe we both can save money and send each other different stuff to review , Now that i have 4 power amps 3 preamps 3 recievers and 2 integrated amps i will be reviewing alot of speakers i just needed Cool-netural-warm sounding amplifiers for a very good review in all 3 sound signatures ,

I like how you showed that the 600m has the same crossover as the 160m only difference i have seen in my research is cooled tweeter and most likely a 8-10 watt resistor to the tweeter instead of 12 watt resistor on 160m my ? Is whats you opinion of 160m vs 600m Remb the 160m has bottom angled plate for better imaging when standing above the tweeter , thanks again your doing a great job man !!!😆

Hello!Don't You would like test loudspeakers from german companies like elac, heco, canton?
After my beloved wharfedale I changed to Heco elementa 300, smooth and linear in bass (not boomy or lift freqs in the bass range) but very deep.Mids opened, tight, articulated. Highs so precise, very good and opened.

nicely presented review , when I owned klipsch products in the past I was able to tame the harshness and listener fatigue issues with lower powered luxman amplification(not alpine lux) . The rp600s are smoother than most previous Klipsch speakers so the luxman combination should prove magical. big value..

I have a Yamaha as 810 integrated amp. I find that amps also make a difference when comparing warmer speakers to vivid speakers. Amps that are tilted to the brighter side of tone when matched with Klipsch rp 160s tend to play higher tones tweeter wise a bit brittle for me especially at higher volumes. Mid range is also compromised. I am wondering if in such cases, in your experience do, the Wharfedales make for a better match on "brighter" or more clinical (less musical)sounding amps.
    Thank you!

I like watching your reviews and appreciate the time you put in to bring us reviews. I must say that this wasn't my favorite comparison because the Wharfedale has a tag-team partner. I mentioned it in the initial review as so have a few others. The Super Tweeter should have been left out of the comparison.

Unlike television do you have visual cues you can do a side-by-side comparison on show charts about colors and black levels and all that stuff but what sound it really is as much a perceptional overview as it is scientific

    • @Tharbamar
      @Tharbamar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Is this my memory test? It’s been a while man.
Personally I still love LS50, it’s one of my all time favorite, I like LS50 for my music listening and RP600M for movies and and all around purpose.
RP600M is more vivid and dynamic sound than LS50 but LS50 have better sound quality in midrange and highs, overall tone and texture is more towards higher end.
600&160m, 600m is more refined and easier on ears than 160m but some may prefer 160m for old Klipsch sound signature, personally I like 600m if I have to choose one.
If you’re not crazy picky like me, 600m or q350 is better buy than LS50, thanks

Then I came across a nad314 35wpc and these speakers came to life and totally changed my opinion. Even though the specs would dictate that they should be easy to match with any amp in my experience they were picky.

Since Audiovox purchased Klipsch the evolution of the company has been to De-Horn the sound of the horn speakers that Paul Klipsch made famous and people loved for the distinct "horn sound". "Mumps" is yet another incarnation brought into the post Paul Klipsch company to De-Horn the sound of a horn speaker to make it sound more like a conventional speaker. Not good at all but Klipsch marketing uses videos like this to make the case that the present company is evolving instead of devolving the classic Klipsch sound. "It sounds better-trust what we're telling you!" Nope! Side by side the Klipsch Forte II sounds much better than the "wave guide horn" sound of the Forte III. Current Klipsch marketing would tell you this is not so but your ears tell you a different story. Also after Audiovox purchased Klipsch they have hyper-inflated Heritage model speaker pricing to recoup the money they spent acquiring the company. Forte II's msrp in the mid 1990's of a $1000 per pair are now priced at $4000 a pair for the Forte III - far inflating the price of the speakers of what normal inflation pricing would require in today's dollars.

I compared the Klipsch to other speakers I have that are a different purpose. Klipsch are not as neutral as some (not a bad thing) and not the laid-back gentle boutique type. The 600m do not shout or have any harsh glare like older klipsch. They are the first klipsch in history that I can comfortably use nearfield. I am using a top notch dac, preamp and amp. There is no trace of fatigue. I get a very transparent, open and vivid realism that has pinpoint focus and supreme dynamics. I use mine with a 15" sub.

Klipsch spec are not TRUE ?? So this company is lying to us because they show the pr-6000m at a sensitivity of 96db !!! From 96 db to 90 db it's day and night comparison and totally unacceptable.

Sorry but I lost all confidence in you, most Klipsch do not sound natural, very compressed and sharp. The filters are dirt cheap, so logically losing a lot of finesse.

Klipsch speakers most of time have really shitty crrossovers . I don't think they are any good don't buy.
