    I ate a handful of almonds, along with a few walnuts and brazils, every day for months. My weight went up, as did my blood sugar. And no I don’t eat any sugary foods or drinks at all, other than raw fruit, which I’ve now had to cut down, along with the nuts.

    For the past several months, I thought my memory was getting better because I was getting more sleep. As it turns out, it was the almonds that I added to my diet! Lol, I am sure it was both. I like walnuts better, but because the nuts are mixed nuts, there are more almonds than walnuts in the container. But, now that I know that almonds are good for memory, I will eat more of them.

    Since losing too many teeth and being one of the few people who cannot manage a denture due to the gag reflux, I really missed nuts. Then I bought a cheap coffee grinder which also does linseeds. Plenty of different nuts most days including almonds. I usually have them on weetbix with milk or with a little good quality ice cream with some water to wash them down of any lumps not ground down enough get caught in my throat.

    What about Almond Milk? My wife has not large intestine due to C-diff in a hospital stay. so the Ostomy doc's to NOT eat any nuts for fear it will get stuck in her small intestine. love to know our thoughts.

    I have been eating soaked almonds for the past 25 years. Still my HbA1c is 6.

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s great that you’ve been consistent with soaking almonds, as they can offer many health benefits. However, HbA1c levels are influenced by many factors beyond diet, such as genetics, physical activity, and overall lifestyle. It might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional to explore other ways to help manage it. Wishing you good health!

    I can not have almonds since they are high in oxalate and I have had a kidney removed due to stones. I substitute with cashews. Is that ok?

    Saw many videos which suggests to soak almonds over night in water before eating to reduce some toxic chemical present in almonds. Is this true or can I eat without soaking

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      While soaking may lead to some improvements in digestion and nutrient availability, unsoaked almonds are still very good unless they bother your stomach. 4 almonds won’t hurt
