    Thank you so much for making this incredible video! since most of us have to rely on Ebay to purchase our Star Wars vehicles your tutorials are very helpful in showing what the fighter(s) should look like once restored, unfortunately Ebay has been taken over by very unscrupulous sellers selling junk at ridicules prices and gouging you on shipping fee's. Most Ebay B-wings are missing the canopy and the cockpit guns...so now we have an excellent reference to go by....Thanks again!

    Hi Dave! I really have two left hands and would never have dared to repair my B-Wing. Now I have a little more courage and will try to fix the wing mechanism. I found it admirable how calmly you approached the video. No rush, wonderfully explained and shown everything you need to know. The only thing I would have liked to have watched more closely was the thing with the pins and the trick of Toy Polloi, with the pins and all the drilling. That was too fast ... for me and my two left hands :-). But I'm sure I can find that either on their homepage or elsewhere on the web. Great job Dave! Thanks for this great video!

    • @VintageToyRush

      Hi Steve, thanks for your kind words 🙏 It's just about confidence and taking it one step at a time 👍 Start with the wings, it's possible nothing is broken it just needs the pieces putting back in place. Good evening, I hope that you are well.
      I have now completely rebuilt my own plus another B Wing, so now they are complete and original 😁
      I am now going through the bits that I have left over and I am about to begin rebuilding the third, which is the worst in terms of condition.
      It has yellowed considerably and the rear portion of the cockpit has suffered the same problem as the one featured in your video.
      I actually managed to completely disassemble the cockpit assembly by twisting and pulling the cockpit and rear ring until the rear ring popped off of the splined shaft and without causing any further damage.

    • @VintageToyRush
      @VintageToyRush  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @PieAndChips
      @PieAndChips ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VintageToyRush Thanks to your video for giving me the confidence to tear them down 😁
      Yes, I will be retrobriting this one as I also have a severely yellowed AT-ST that I have managed to completely disassemble.
      I am going to wait until next year and do it during the summer so save faffing about with UV lights.
      In the meantime I am going to collect spares in order to potentially complete it.
      I'm also going to have a go at moulding a resin replacement cockpit "chin cannon" as mine is broken and nobody currently offers a 3D printed replacement.
      It's really quite exciting as I usually build scale models, so coming over to toy repair and restoration is really quite interesting!

      Thanks! 🤘 If it's unused, it'll just be the motor that needs a gentle nudge. Good luck 👍

    Hi Dave, I’ve just repaired my B Wing using this video, only thing missing is the end cap which you reattached to the canopy, do you know of a seller who supplies this part even as a 3d printed option? Cheers

      Good to hear this video has helped with your repair - always love hearing from others who've had a go 🤘 I think the best bet is to look for a beater B Wing or canopy and take the part from there 👍

    Great video, Dave! As someone who sometimes ends up with spare parts/screws left over when reassembling toys...any chance of having that handy counter in real life? 😁

      Thanks Mr Goboto! 🙏 Yes, where do those spare screws come from 🤣 If you don't have one of those magnetic mats, I'd highly recommend them - perhaps in the near future we'll have an augmented reality countdown, that would be cool 👍

    B-Wing is always one of the weirdest rebel ships.

    If you ever find them in descent condition hold on to them... I'm looking for all the ship of that size.

    I have a B-Wing that does not make a sound, and the back of the cockpit is broken. Must have been a common issue.

      Yeah, anything that has a motor from then is likely to stop working. Fairly easy to repair. And does seem the B-Wing has a weak cockpit although I suspect most of them have been dropped!! 👍

      @VintageToyRush I loved the video, and now you have inspired me to get my collection fixed.
      It was really informative, and this will be my first attempt. I have a snow speeder and a Y wing that are in need of repairs and, unfortunately, missing parts. I cannot wait to see which toy you restore next

    I had 1 screw that was longer than rest. 🙄 But I thank his home was on the end gun where it's thicker than rest...... I guess 💪🇺🇸😐🇦🇺

    Why is it called a B-wing? Looks nothing like a B.

    • @VintageToyRush

      Nothing like a B 🤣 Some say it stands for Blade wing - it could just be that A / B were chosen for the next ships 🤷‍♂️
