Y'all are legends and I truly hope you go far and continue making fan films. The acting, cinematography, fight coreography, character building, pure emotions, costumes, and props were just so on point. AND THAT TWIST WITH ALDERAAN!!!! OMG GENIUS!!!!!! Better than most of what Disney has produced in years. Nice job in outdoing them. Legendary🔥
This is so true. Ironically Disney had the perfect opportunity to tell us their story. They gave us Finn: An ordinary Imperial soldier who decided to defect. This is such an interesting concept and could have been made great use of telling us stories from a perspective we never saw before. Unfornately they failed all the way. They not only underused his character, but also quickly relegated him to the backstage and also making him a comic relief more than once. I feel so bad for John Boyega...
Yep… when every movie has the entire universe hinging on it, nobody feels real. I think they’ve started doing some more small scale stories. There should be enough stories in that universe to last forever.
this is by far the best fan-film I've seen. It's the small stories that made me love star wars over the years. Thank you to all who where involved with this amazing project!
This fan films is the best I have ever seen because all of the other ones don't have store telling and are really short but this one has all of that and it is not boring it is compelling to watch ❤ 10/10 store telling
I like the way it adds context to the story of the end of Return. There are always winners and losers in wars, but in the end of things everyone loses if they keep fighting when the fighting should be over.
This is a well-crafted, beautifully written story. Sitting through this for half an hour was worth my time than the Sequel Trilogy. It felt like I was watching an episode of Andor due to the depiction of the darker side of the Rebellion in which not every rebel is a saint, yet that doesn't mean every Imperial is a rotten apple. I really like the bond that Scout and Princess developed along the way, and it was heartbreaking to see Scout learn that he can't go back home to Alderaan, that his daughter was on that planet when it was blown up, and how he sacrificed himself to give Princess a chance to return to his wife. I can't even forget to commend you for making the Ewoks scary as they should be, not to mention the humor and chemistry between the two protagonists, and the filming location for Endor, which also has grasslands and meadows as seen in the Ewok films. Nevertheless, this is an incredible journey and I hope you can keep telling more amazing stories that even George himself would be proud of. May the Force be with you.
Posting stuff like your comment should include the warning of "Spoiler Alert"... No need to give a detailed plot narrative whilst thanking the creator(s), as you're forgetting that some of us check the comments in order to see what others thought about it, before we spend our time watching it.
The sheer amount of detail in this film is mindblowing. At 17:48 you can see the rebel's eyes rapidly moving around in his sleep, which is caused by brain activity from dreaming.
It's that kind of stories the original trilogy lacks a lot. You don't get to see the imperial forces as a human being. They're all seen as evil. This is excellent story telling!
The scout trooper running through the stages of grief was excellent. Well done. The Ewoks being omnivorous and enjoying a bit of long pig, well, they were going to cook and eat the rebels they captured until C3PO convinced them not too so that shouldn't be a surprise...
Always hated Storm troopers as a kid. Thought they were just evil. Great job humanizing them for me. As a father of a 5 year daughter who hates to see me go to work every day, I feel his pain. Amazing job.
One of the few fan films that was incredible. The acting was top notch. The special effects were good enough and the story was amazing. The Alderaan part was brilliant. The Scout rider that Chewy shot off his speeder bike was brilliant. Someone always has to die and I hate that. But this was truly enjoyable from start to finish. I thank you for adding more to the Star Wars legacy. This film should go right next to all the rest of them. I don't count 7 - 9 as a part of my Star Wars Galaxy but I certainly do count this one.
Oh man, what a gem! From " you're a great shot, I thought you guys always missed" to the scout's visions of his daughter. What a treat this half hour short was. Kudos to those all around that gave me more of an emotional roller-coaster than Disney ever could. 👏👏👏
Best Star Wars drama I've seen in well over a decade. Thanks to the makers, actors and writers for this. Clearly made with love by people who respect and know the GFFA.

I cannot believe what I just watched. I felt more watching this than I did watching the sequel trilogy. Amazingly produced. Fantastic direction, acting, and writing! I absolutely loved this. So much nuance, so much grey. This felt close to Andor for me, which is a compliment, as it is my favourite Star Wars show. Just thank you so much for all of your hard work and for sharing this with us fellow fans. Thank you.
Truly fantastic. Amazing what love of the source material can create. Such human material, exactly what had been missing from this franchise for a long, long time. You guys should be very proud of your accomplishment.
It might be a "Fan Film" but its better than most big studio films and TV I've seen recently. It had a clear narrative arc, it had character development, it was thought provoking, it explored the complexity of human nature, it provoked emotions, it was well acted, written, shot and edited, it felt like an authentic part of the Star Wars canon.
I literally skimmed parts of this since up late but just watched certain parts, like the truth about his family, the rebel that had a change if heart, and the sacrifice part and they moved me. I got emotional chills! This! This right here is how much better it is then any of the newer disney stories they have released! The mere fact I just tired, skimmed parts of it did I get invested and emotional over it, is how much amazing and better this is compared to any of the current stuff up!
Absolutely awesome! This was such a magnitude better than anything Disney has offered up! Once again, the fans do Star Wars better than those who bought it! ❤
I saw that the movie started off with a scene from the real film, and was waiting to see the shift in quality when it cut to the fanfilm part, and my jaw absolutely dropped when it stayed equally good. The actors did an amazing job, and the music and camera angles look like the actual films 👍👍👍
This is as PERFECT a Star Wars film should be. I felt it throughout .... well written (except for 1 thing: "Teddy bears"); beautiful locations, great job with the music, WELL ACTED ALL!!!, direction - actors - story - AWARD WINNER!
Wow that was brilliant, I dont normally comment In this case though I must say. That was amazing, I love Star wars but this was on another level. I felt real empathy and remorse for troper TB-138 and got so sucked into both the character's greatest of respect and appreciation to this films cast crew and creators, The force is strong with them all. 🤗
This is beautifully shot. Cinematography is just as good as the films. It has the original trilogy vibe. I have been a big fan of Isaac's work for a long time.

Just saw this today and was amazed!! The actors playing the scout trooper and the rebel were incredible! This brought tears to my eyes. This film should've won an award!
I like how this doesn't glorify war. It's just a story of guys from both sides "doing their duty" and seeing the reality of it. Locations, costumes, acting. Top notch stuff!
Just discovered this 5 months late. What an amazing fan film. George Lucas needs to find a note pad man. What an amazing side to a story we never knew we wanted. Congratulations!
Wtf was this? This was freaking AMAZING! I literally almost cried! Also I've never been more afraid of those pesky ewoks! What a scene! Also the camerawork in general! The location!! The dream sequences! Beautiful! Also the whole thing just kept dragging me in. Went by with a snap of a finger! How does this not have millions of views!? What a story! 10/10 (maybe the ending was little overdramatic) But wow! Thank you so much! I did not expect this! Wow! I'm absolutely stunned! This must've been quite the project!! I can't even imagine! But what an outstanding result!
That was one of the best star wars fan films I have seen yet. Compelling storyline, great acting, perfect costumes/props. looked very professional. I hope you make another!
I have watched so many great Star Wars fan films that appeared this last year all with their different strengths with ideas and stories -- please someone hire all these people to make a great collaborative project
I'm not a fan of fan films usually because there's either bad acting or dialogue, embarrassing use of technology or an unrealistic story ... However, this film breaks the mold. Well done. A thoroughly realistic story that one could easily adopt as canon, decent acting, great camera work and music, and, finially intelligent use of special effects. Keeping the ewoks as outlines was great idea and even the slightly dodgy ship effect didn't matter as it was breif. Only minor critique is costumes were tad too clean a lot, a little plot disjointedness (understand they were seperate episodes originally) and the final shoot out was a little ridiculous. Overall though, 8/10. Well done. Enjoyed it.
Thank you for the thorough review. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Wish we had budget for all the good stuff like that, so we tried to be selective and do the bush with what we HAD to do. Aleks actually learned how to make the VFX himself just for this. So pretty proud of our DIY, never done before achievements.
An interesting trend in these fan films is that the ones without any force sensitive characters tend to be the best ones. And this one was no exception. Maybe it's because the whole Jedi-Sith dynamic is so one-dimensional and done to death that it's really hard to create anything novel with it.
This is an excellent fan made series, one wanting to see his wife and kid, and the other one sacrificing his life to make it happen because he lost his... Either way both lost and gained something in the video....
The scout trooper didn't just lose his family, he lost his entire reason for being! He fought for the Empire, believed in it and supported everything the Empire did. Then to find out all of that was a massive LIE, and the Empire not only killed his family, but destroyed their entire planet. Their home, their history, their future- all gone. For what??
At least in the Battletech universe you know there are no good and bad guys. This movie gives me that flavor. But it has a tasty twist. I never thought about imperials with family in Alderaan. This trooper now had the empire he worked for as the enemy and rebels hunting him. The man who escaped was his only friend. His Death Star friends were gone. What was left for him? Just defend his last friend.
@@robertnickerson8463 You say that because the writer managed to create a good character you love. But think of this: Of all the possible outcomes which one offers the most cool plot twist? Think of alternative outcomes. It is called the rule of cool. Star Wars itself made choices to achieve the rule of cool.
That was kind of sad and poignant, it really moves me and kind of Shut The Human Side to the Imperials you didn't think existed. His final words of I'll be home soon kind of broke my heart.😢

I've watched literally dozens of Star Wars fan films and none of them. NONE of them. Made me cry like this one. Absolute treasure this fan film. Thank you for making this! Y'all are legends and I truly hope you go far and continue making fan films. The acting, cinematography, fight coreography, character building, pure emotions, costumes, and props were just so on point. AND THAT TWIST WITH ALDERAAN!!!! OMG GENIUS!!!!!! Heart strings were pulled with that one. Everything was incredible and I loved every second.
I can not put into words the depth of my amazement and joy in seeing such a well made film. Better than most of what Disney has produced in years. Nice job in outdoing them. Legendary🔥
Generation X thanks you for restoring what Star Wars meant to us.
A standing ovation tour de force performance by all 🌹 👏
Thank you so much!
@@AfterEndor Much deserved!😎👍
@@AfterEndorright beside empire, maybe better.
Exactly.
Please don't speak on behalf of anyone but yourself.
I loved this so so much, this shows the common folks, the common warriors, which we don't get to see often enough in Star Wars, this was amazing.
This is what we should have on the big screen. Great writing, great plot and great idea. We hope there's more on the way 🤘
Thank you! Will for sure keep working on more. So glad you enjoyed it!
Probably the BEST fan film I've seen... Should be paid by Disney...
this is by far the best fan-film I've seen. It's the small stories that made me love star wars over the years. Thank you to all who where involved with this amazing project!
Wow, thank you!
This fan films is the best I have ever seen because all of the other ones don't have store telling and are really short but this one has all of that and it is not boring it is compelling to watch ❤ 10/10 store telling
So this is what happens when talented people do something out of love.
❤
Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
That means. A lot. Thank you!
What a fantastic film! Well done, heart-warming, full of emotion. Worth every minute! What a fitting follow-up to Episode VI.
The sheer amount of detail in this film is mindblowing. At 17:48 you can see the rebel's eyes rapidly moving around in his sleep, which is caused by brain activity from dreaming.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!
Yes, that was very convincing acting. Also Ewoks being something more than just cute teddy bears is well, realistic :)
This is so much better than any of Disney’s Star Wars. Excellent story and a bittersweet ending.
You cannot be possibly be serious. What a stupid comment.
Even better as a supercut! Thanks for releasing it all as one video.
Our pleasure!
You thought this was good?
I cried harder than that Scout Trooper did when he found out Alderan was blown up...
@@jaydub5515 the storyline is good that’s why Star Wars originally used it 😂
It never ceases to amaze me how fans can write stories with such depth, character, and sincerity. Beautifully crafted and created. Much applause and congratulations to the writers, director, and cinematography team for their incredible production.
OMG ! Great job. It looks so professional. I was amazed by the script, the quality of color and the editing.
You truly deserve the award of the best SW FanFilm.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
Thank YOU so much! We made this for fans like you and are so happy you enjoyed it :)
This is a remarkable fan film. Beautifully written, beautifully shot, and such excellent attention paid to the lore. 👏
Outstanding job. You've done better than Disney has with an army of writers. Respect.
I’m really glad you enjoyed it. Thank you
I saw that the movie started off with a scene from the real film, and was waiting to see the shift in quality when it cut to the fanfilm part, and my jaw absolutely dropped when it stayed equally good. The actors did an amazing job, and the music and camera angles look like the actual films 👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
This is as PERFECT a Star Wars film should be. I felt it throughout .... well written (except for 1 thing: "Teddy bears"); beautiful locations, great job with the music, WELL ACTED ALL!!!, direction - actors - story - AWARD WINNER!
Thank you! I know I took some liberties with that one. But Han says “see you in hell!”, so I figured I didn’t mind it.
Yeah, this 'purist' needs to lighten up, sit back & just enjoy the story. Again, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
No worries at all. I appreciate the love!
@@aaronbuckmiller4728 You make some good points, the good and the bad.
Isaac did an incredible job. We're so lucky that he came on board to shoot this.
You are dreaming.
I see you @josh
The best fanfilm I've ever seen. That's so cool and I felt with the characters. The part at night with the ewoks remembered me to battlefront 2 and the background looks so real. Thank you very much, I wish this would be canon
Beautifully shot! I love the time period we’re dealing with here. It’s very rarely been explored in the new canon!
Thank you! Our Director of Photography, Isaac, did an incredible job. It's such a fascinating time to explore with all of the turmoil and change. So many stories could be told here.
that was *FANTASTIC* , great Camera, great Acting, great Costumes and awesome writing
Wow! This is amazing!! Everything from the editing, composition, casting, wardrobe, score and colourgrade were excellent. Most impressive!
Impressive. Most impressive! Love your callback to Empire Strikes Back. Thank you!
@@AfterEndor this is great we need shows like these
Just saw this today and was amazed!! The actors playing the scout trooper and the rebel were incredible! This brought tears to my eyes. This film should've won an award!
PLEASE Give these master minds a shot at the big screen.❤🎉😢
Thank you! That would be the dream :)
I like how this doesn't glorify war. It's just a story of guys from both sides "doing their duty" and seeing the reality of it. Locations, costumes, acting. Top notch stuff!
thank you very much, absolutely incredible work. from writing to execution - great!
This IS Star Wars! Loved this story! ❤
10/10 (maybe the ending was little overdramatic)
But wow!
@@AfterEndor I think you did all the right things with the budget 👍
An interesting trend in these fan films is that the ones without any force sensitive characters tend to be the best ones. And this one was no exception. Maybe it's because the whole Jedi-Sith dynamic is so one-dimensional and done to death that it's really hard to create anything novel with it.
This is an excellent fan made series, one wanting to see his wife and kid, and the other one sacrificing his life to make it happen because he lost his... Either way both lost and gained something in the video....
It's what makes Star Wars special, the balance between light and dark, good and bad, and how is impacts the whole universe. Glad you enjoyed it
The scout trooper didn't just lose his family, he lost his entire reason for being!
@@aquarius5719 True he defended his friend, and they did gave a good twist, but I wish, that, he could have found away to survive....
@@robertnickerson8463 You say that because the writer managed to create a good character you love. But think of this:
Of all the possible outcomes which one offers the most cool plot twist? Think of alternative outcomes.
It is called the rule of cool. Star Wars itself made choices to achieve the rule of cool.
Mini-Films and animations like these always bring back that awesome feeling Star Wars first gave me. Y'all did amazing!
This was wonderful. Thank you for making it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you :)
Story, acting, composition, all grade A+! And all in less than 30 minutes?!? Bravo! Encore!
Thank you so much!
Really, really well done. I don't know what I was expecting but this blew me away. Great job to everyone involved in this.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it
That was kind of sad and poignant, it really moves me and kind of Shut The Human Side to the Imperials you didn't think existed. His final words of I'll be home soon kind of broke my heart.😢
That thumbnail is 🔥 The lighting for each shot is 🔥 This fan film is 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much
I'm blown away. I felt real emotions watching this. This needs more views for sure.
Wow!! This is amazing!
Tip of the hat.
This is by far the best Starwars content I've seen in a long time.
Thank you so much 😀
Wow. Now *_that_* was damn good. First time I have ever been terrified by Ewoks. And realized just how terrible they were really. Thank you so much, just wonderful. And ten times better than Disney.
Absolutely amazing. Hats off to you. Thanks for bringing such a great Star Wars story to life for us
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Loved how each bullet was a shot of his daughter
That was pretty darn good. Disney should air this on their service and give you $ and credit, way more heart than most of the Star wars stuff they been putting out.
Would love the opportunity for something like that. Thank you for the kind words
Absolutely loved it, everything was included from hate, to friendship, and then with family emotion. Brilliant.
Loved it... well shot, great script and turns the tables on the whole good vs eveeeel story.
Thank you! We wanted to explore more of good and eveeeel in Star Wars and how each side saw themselves.
this had me tearing up, the character development is spot on, writing, cinematography, sets, props, top quality. hats off to you and your team!
What a wonderful story. Loved it .
Thank you! 🙂
Simply amazing! If anyone would have told me, this is an official production, I would believe him!👍
Very well done. Love to see fan films with this care. I hope you guys will make some new stories in the future, anything would be nice.. maybe a Jedi story? 10/10. 🙏
Thank you! Definitely more stories to come!
i haven't cried this hard for an imperial soldier ever!!!! this was amazing i will be share this video everywhere
I don’t normally comment but awesome work guys! As a father myself it hit me hard.. well done!
Thank you! That’s my little girl there. Very proud of her and yeah…it hits me too! Haha
Well done, guys! I felt empathy for both characters. Deserves a "Short Films" award for sure.
