I remember a skate board that used metal wheels and was very crude in design. But I had fun with it all the same... Nice refurbishing effort. Looks good to me. Thumbs Up!
Yeah probably early 70’s we use to make our own . Ahhh those were the good old days , small skate board rolling down hill into traffic. I’m surprised.we came out alive .
1980’s. The older ones, that I knew first hand, had a different shapes and mechanisms. In fact, the first skateboards were simply roller skates (metal wheels) we disassembled and screwed onto laminate boards. We called them “surf skates.” Circa 1965ish. Southern California.
I got my first skateboard in 1968 but I've never seen one like that before handy holder in the deck though makes you wonder why it's not more common. great resto aswell.
An uncle from Australia sent one to me in Ireland in the late 70’s. I didn’t know what to do with it 😂. Mostly I just fell off it a lot before getting the hang of it.
Late 60's. Neighbor kid had one that looked exactly like it. He rode it down our driveway, into the street and got ran over by a car. It was pre-helmets and pads and he was pretty lucky, only needing lot's of stitches. He was very accident prone - always getting injured. He drowned three years later while walking across a somewhat shallow but fast moving river. Bummer😞
I see what you’re going for but yes most are painted with gloss but when a rider uses the board, 99.999% of the time they use grip tape so the gloss isn’t slick. 👍
Asalamualaykom brother, well done, everything is perfect, but what I liked most was the sandblasting process, it was very tough and cleaned the metal like butter, what kind of abrasion material did you use, and on what pressure did you adjust your compressor?!! Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Didn't ride it, 0/10, unwatchable. disliked, flagged and reported for killing dreams /s (for legal reasons, that is a joke, everyone calm down) great restoration 👍
My favorite part of your restorations is always when you use the sandblaster. Looks great, thanks for sharing!

Late 1960s-mid-70s None of the hardware is brand name or even"standard" so it's def on the cheaper side.
Yeah probably early 70’s we use to make our own . Ahhh those were the good old days , small skate board rolling down hill into traffic. I’m surprised.we came out alive .
Perfect restoration Love the paint scheme Always enjoy a master craftsman doing the job he loves Looks to good to put on concrete again

1960’s - 1970. Late 1970’s there was the fashionable banana looking skateboard that I remember my brothers used to ride on.
I’ve seen a TH-camr make a table from old skateboards and now I’m seeing a restoration finally something that makes sense 😂
So true 😂
Beautiful restoration and color 😊
Thank you

If you do one of these again, just replace the rubber dampers with swaybar endlink bushings from a car. That's all these were from the factory.
The rubber he used was definitely way too soft.
@@jasonpoletta1797 agreed. If used, it wouldn't last long.
Amazing Restoration
Wow who would have thought a skateboard can be restored so awesome
Wow, looks like it's brand new. Great job!

It is a death trap, glad you survived
Do you still have your skateboard or you sold it I'm dieing to hear it
13:56 That's A Lot of Pieces In One Tiny Liddle Brand New Skateboard !! 😊
I would've painted a design on it.
same, on the bottom tho, and put the grip tape on top
I would’ve coated the entire thing in epoxy then sanded the heck out of it and made it super high gloss and cool
Excellent job and better than new 👍👍👍
I'm guessing 1974. Awesome job restoring it.
Great! Super skateboard!

Awesome 😎👍👍 restoration
Это прикрасно❤
well done
Has puesto un seger de exterior en un eje interior, donde los rodamientos.
Am I the only one who remembers when skateboards and roller skates used the same tires? The skateboard was considerably skinnier, though.
Nice😊👍🏻
Not the color I would have gone with but it still looks great. 🎉

Really nice! Great quality video what camera do you use?
Can you use the nickel solution multiple times? I mean outside of this restoration.
It can be used multiple times if the nickel concentration is strong enough..
Finally someone who doesn’t spend a million years polishing 😂

Gloss paint on the deck what could possibly go wrong?
but modern skateboards have gloss paint? im not sure the point you are trying to make
I see what you’re going for but yes most are painted with gloss but when a rider uses the board, 99.999% of the time they use grip tape so the gloss isn’t slick. 👍
I wonder if clear nail polish/gel would resist the chemical nickle solution. It might be easier to keep threads from getting too plated... Hmm...
Beauty. But where's the demoooo 😁
Grinding on a bearing surface/press fit surface? 😮 i am surprised the bearings fit so well after

nice restoration, why no grip on the board? better with not? otherwise nice job 😎👍
This is the first time I've seen a handle hole on a skateboard, I wonder why it's not a popular design.
Looks like roller skates for trucks and it has a "handle", that screams 60s to me but if the wheels aren't ceramic it might be a little older

Can you sill do kick flips with that board being flat at the edge?
😮
I was hoping he would try it
Why you dont use internal circlip with the bearings instead of external?

Don't be misguided into believing that bluing fully protects against rust. It doesn't. It only partially protects against rust.
