I just discovered this game tonight. Great animation and music. Amazing for it's time. Still great looking now. This should have been ported to the Sega Genesis and SNES. Even the PS1 and Saturn.
wow.. that was beautiful. I really had no idea what to expect, and the goblin king plus two swords was waaay down on the lists of things i thought were going to happen. I was not disappointed though! The backgrounds though!
...remembering plugging the amiga to my hi-fi system and recorded some great tunes on tape!!!...this piano theme was the intro for that tape!!!...:)...the good old days!!!...
I think the coolest technological thing with this game is there's only ever in terms of the level art, no more than 16 colors in any given frame. through some magic touches with special software, the illusion of more color was given by swapping out the colors of the background very rapidly. You can read a lot on how this game was made on a site where one of the creators talks about it, and includes a lot of production materials. Just run "Franck Sauer agony" through google, will bring you right there.
Some people think that Amiga can't do any good parallax s rolling. Here you have multiplayer parallax with animated elements in the background, beautifuly animated owl, great music. The only thing I may complain about is the poor animations of the enemies. Foreground animation is more important than the backgrounds.
I had this game but i didn't like the art style it was good but i was more into Hybris and Battle Squadron and Xenon 2 and Menace along with Sidewinder and Starray these are the games i wanted the new amiga mini to have or even a chance to buy and down load them on a hard drive stick built into it so you can have the amiga games of your own choice instead of the crap free games that it comes with Also it would be in 720p and without the scanlines with upscaled visuals
Very overrated game imo. acclaimed by the critic because of the interlaced graphic, the music score is amazing by the game itself is very repetitive and boring.
There will never be another gaming company like Psygnosis.
ARTGNOSIS
they made some amazing titles back in the day 😎💯
The finest pixels we could see on this 16BIT Amiga on these years. An eyes unscrewing game ! And this first stage music still remains EPIC.
These backgrounds were how I was hoping the other locations in S of the B 2 were gonna look.
Thank you for your upload! Your archive gives us hope to preserve these games for eternity!
Beautiful landscapes. I really love the overall design!

Amiga 500 was damn advanced for its time in both, visual and sound! Good memories...

Thank you for sharing that! I found the page and had a read and it was fascinating. How cool to see how this masterpiece came to be. 🙂
The graphics/art is soo good
The first 30 seconds made me feel like I had time travelled
Anthology game, the best on amiga. I still play sometimes, I love it!
amazing graphics (at the time) using all 16 colors+blitter background.
That last level looked insanely difficult.
badass music
As usual for the system, and especially the company.
