@@SGUDistantHope I've always felt that Star Trek is at its best when it's self referential. Sometimes when I watch "official cannon" star trek its seems like the writers and producers don't bother to tell stories about the massive universe that Star Trek represents. There's a whole Galactic Federation with trillions of people working and living together in Starfleet (and who knows how many other organizations) over a period of 300-1000 years of stories to tell. Even DS9 squandered so many story telling opportunities about the history of Bajor, the history of the Cardassians to tell a 3-season arc about the Dominion War. I love this smaller-scale story telling. You guys did an amazing job of aging/de-aging Sam Cocker, and it was a real treat to see 40 years of Starlfleet uniforms. A very ambitious production for a 15 minute short. I enjoyed every minute of it. In my comment I said it was cute, because I smiled the entire time and it made me feel happy as a trekkie, and that feels like a rare feeling... Thanks for all your hard work. I eagerly await more of your episodes!
Alright! Tymey Wymey stuff INDEED. It was fun and it's obvious you put a lot of work into it. I only have ONE real critique . That line about her being in the infirmary for a PANIC attack. Just seemed kind of silly and unnecessary. But, overall WELL DONE

Hiya! So, the future version of Davis is something like 20 years older and knows exactly whats in store for Keely...the good and bad. Its subtext to the larger stories. There are 6 different "set ups" to future stories in this film, that is one of them. Trekyards-style nitpicking: The scale of the shuttle looks way off compared to the windows. It's like a toy shuttle. I get that might be due to the kit-bashed shuttlebay on the New Orleans class, but... Also: What happened to the Resolute's main dorsal phaser array between the launch of the shuttle and the departure! Did Q steal it!? Excellent age work - deepfakery?
@@SGUDistantHope Lol what? I mean, how are you going to time travel? The past is gone. Even if the idea that time is a dimension was true, there would still be no way to visits the past.
@@SkyDarmos It's a lol because your comment feels as if it is a complaint against my project, but it is in fact a general comment to all sci fi tv shows/movies/books which use time travel. Trek is famous for time travel and has its own rules and styles of it. What did you actually think of the film itself and all the hard work put in?
Star Trek uses time travel only occasionally, in order to be more believable. It is never treated as something ordinary and mundane. In most of ENT the Vulcan even denied that it exists. In TNG it only appeared in some later episodes. Although I don't like time travel episodes, but you could improve yours by having the main actor more puzzled at what is happening. Anyway, it is hard to build up suspense and to root for the character when episodes are only a bit over ten minutes long. @@SGUDistantHope
@@SGUDistantHope It seems my comment is gone, and so I will write it again. Star Trek uses time travel only sometimes. It doesn’t overuse it, because it would make the show less believable. I especially liked how TNG didn’t use time travel much, only 4 or so times in the whole series. I don’t count Q episodes because nobody knows what kind of space that is that Q brings people to. It could simply be a simulation of the past. Anyway, when doing a time travel episode, it should never be treated as something casual. In your video you are acting as if this was pretty normal.

@@SGUDistantHope Of course, but he would not have automatically raised shields, nor informed them that their very presence there is a hostile act, before they would have given him a reason to do so. Now, had he been wearing the later uniforms (the ones where the badge has the two crossing lines over), it would have made more sense, as it could have been during DS9's fourth, or early fifth season, so okay. But not like that. It simply does not make any sense.

Was that just the one actor for all versions of the character? That was really great 👍
Yep! Oops!...but with a hair cut and 2 CGI faces hahah!! oh and different acting and trying to do different vocal inflections! all me acting alone haha!

i hope trekyards is still going
Cool story; most of the major characters are all the same person from different times. The makeup work really did a good job making Samuel look different ages, and Cockings did a great job conveying the subtle differences between youth and experience. And, of course, starships! Always nice to see beauty shots of Enterprise G and a Klingon Bird of Prey!
Sam you are an exceptionally good actor 👏👏👏
Nice job Commander Cockings.
Thank you Eric! What did you enjoy in particular about the film? We would love to know!
Well you always do great digital renders, I enjoy Trekyards, but overall, the effort and love that goes into it all.
Great!!!!

Brell bird of prey thank you the downloads
The resolute should be the name of a galaxy class starship.
I love the new orleans class. Is one of my favorite designs.
That warp needs more of a rubber band effect and the ship names need a "The" in front of them, aside from that, looks great.
Ha thanks! its always a balance with the rubber band effect! What do you mean "the?" you dont have "The Enterprise" on the ships hull ha.

@@SGUDistantHope it's just a "thing" Enterprise started, when they refer to the ship they say "let's get back to enterprise" instead of "let's get back to the enterprise" and it jars when until that point it had always been "the enterprise, the defiant" etc
Just a little thing that always bothered me with that show. Why change that after it being one way for 40 years?
God I love these...! ❤❤❤❤

I love the DS9 and Picard Season 2/3 uniforms.
Thank you! We had the Picard uniform tailored made about 3 episodes into Picard S2...I was actually the first cosplayer in the world to make one! How fun is that!

The USS Vigilance is such a beauty! The USS Resolute however... the warp nacelles (?) look like glued on the top of the saucer section. I would have loved to see the USS Resolute NCC-92317 (Centaur class) from Star Trek Resurgence! I loved this game, the characters, the story and the ship. Speaking of story, this one was well written. I liked the (de)aging effects. And I enjoyed the familiarity of Captain Keller's voice.
ha! yes! It was so fun to bring the Vigilance back again...after i already killed her last year haha
Aww..i like the New Orleans class! hahaha we did bring back the Resolute Centaur class back in the Paklid Resurgence...this film takes place before that so...this is the Resolute before that one ;) there's a story reason for it later!

Great job communicating that youth both visually and voice acting!
I think the de-aging part was the most startling, better than Disney Star Wars, easily.
Also the designs of the shuttles, and great background work on all shuttle interiors and bridge background.
Only thing I'd ask is the "film scratch" isn't necessary, especially when the rest is so sharp and pristine.
Everything else is a cut above!

@@SGUDistantHope for starters the CGI ships and planets continue to look better and better inside and out. The deaging is fantastic. The makeup for the aging is awesome. The creative use of the same character over and over and over again. And the fish out of water story for the ensign is great. You came up with a great story.
Todo pessoal aos postos de Batalha!!
Joining Janeway and Kirk ay lol Temporal investigation's would probably have a field day.
I would have asked myself the Frengi PowerOrbs numbers.
*THIS* has been my favorite Star Trek short by far! It is pretty sad when companies like @Power543 Fan Films are making better films than anything Hollyweird and Disney+ can currently put out. I laughed my @ss off at this waiting for another shuttle to show up to see what another uniform was going to look like. Awesome short!

so cute
100% enjoyed this
Thanks! Any particular moments?
If There was anymore wood in this performance it would be a rainforest🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hello. Have you thought about submitting this idea to the CBS Network?
What's better than one Sam?.... 5!
Alright! Tymey Wymey stuff INDEED.

That line about her being in the infirmary for a PANIC attack.
Just seemed kind of silly and unnecessary.
But, overall WELL DONE

Ha, that's a big set up for future Keely stories and at that point in my characters life...worrying about Keely is a thing on his mind.
There's about 6 setups in this film for future films which you don't realise are setups...until you see the payoffs later!

TNG aesthetic or nothing!

Hiya! So, the future version of Davis is something like 20 years older and knows exactly whats in store for Keely...the good and bad. Its subtext to the larger stories.
There are 6 different "set ups" to future stories in this film, that is one of them.
All of which add to this film but help plant seeds in the audience so that in future films you will think...oh thats what it was about!

Time travel in the Star Trek Universe is so..........awkward
🙂👍🏼🎥
All that timey-wimey stuff is always a bit weird and confusing.
Im sorry but how dare anyone call that pathetic of a ship an enterprise, should have been the eclipse class
Time travel has no scientific basis.
Lol.
What is this de-ageing witchery??!
Its some fancy CGI'ing inded :D What else about the film did you enjoy in particular? any moments or scenes or visuals? We do love time travel fun films!

Better than JJ bs.
What is this nonsense? According to his uniforms, it is the 2360's, when the Federation and the Klingons are allies. Throw this pointless "film" away.
There are always rouge Klingons who still want war in a time of peace, if you saw TNG or DS9 :)
Harsh but ok, you missed all the other ageing effects.
