Huge little house on the prairie fan. Adding your book to my reading list.

Your yarn is beautiful! Also love the book recommendation, I’m going to try it next.
As far as starting walking with your dominant foot, this winter I broke 3 toes and messed up muscles and tissues in my right leg. I have had to stop and think before I do steps, etc. because I would always have started with my right foot and now can’t. A learning curve for sure.

Hi, Kay and Dan! Rhubarb is for summer pies here in California. And Kay, you need to check out the Stanwood ball winder…by far the best tool I have ever purchased. Zero fussing.

Our rhubarb is about ready for harvest any day. Rhubarb is the first home grown harvest we get. I live on the central coast of BC in Canada.

Rhubarb is the first plant to emerge in my garden every spring, before the asparagus! I’m in the Pacific Northwest 😊

Just catching up on episodes… Kay, I personally think Opal and Regia etc design their sock yarns based on a 64 st sized sock and therefore if you deviate from that, you get somewhat interesting results. I tend to use them on a 64 sts for me, but when I’ve knitted them for hubby (72st) or for my smaller footed friends, (56 sts) then the jacquard/ print type yarns (as opposed to just a stripe) always look different to mine.
Personally, I liked the look of the ugly socks 😆🤎

As soon as your podcast was over I went to Audible and down loaded One for the blackbird and One foe the Crow and I just want to tell you how much I'm enjoying that listen. Thank you for your great show.

Rhubarb is usually a spring/early summer crop, but I've read there are varieties that have two harvests. I wonder if that's what you're seeing in Autumn? Mine only has one harvest. It's done by June and dies off in the Autumn.

Since the Prairie Socks pattern is still my favorite pattern, It will be a joy to knit a shorty pair or two!! Thanks for the heads up with the eye of partridge heel. I have noticed the difference in my success with it and now I know why. You are why I gravitate to your patterns Kay!

Thanks so much for your message! We’ve fixed the problem which had resulted in ads appearing. It is a constant battle which is why we nearly left the platform a few years ago. Pleased to say this video is now all ad free again 👍🏻

My daughter picked up cross stitch about 1 month after I gave all of my supplies to a friend. Tried to teach crochet to her and it was a no go!
Rhubarb is generally harvested in Canada in the spring. I've read to avoid harvesting more than 1 third of the plant in any season and not after a frost. The frost causes the oxalic acid to move from the leaves to the stalks apparently.

I love the colors you chose for your Reading Shawl! There is nothing like having your daughter pick up a craft you do and run with it!
My favorite weight is the 80 - 20 especially with the high twist! Those are gorgeous socks!

Rhubarb in mid Atlantic states US can be cut early May, sometimes late April. Personally I don’t care for it due to the sweetness required in recipes. Over sweet to me. Love your podcasts. Especially love the history walks! Thank you!

I can't tell you how much I love your episodes! I've just found your channel and I'm thrilled! I've been in search of the Quantock Hat pattern and the yarn that Dan used and I'm not having any luck finding the pattern on Ravelry or which yarn he used. Would you be able to give me some specifics? Thank you so much!

It's a Klingon Bird of Prey and a Romulan Warbird. I think you were talking about the Bird of Prey. My husband is a Trekkie and almost had an aneurysm when he heard that part!
