That sales guy using vw as the biggest car company in the world as being the reason a car will be great is such a joke! VW vehicles in the US are regularly poor performers in reliability and innovation. That said, I’d love to own a Buzz. But probably won’t ever be the right car for our family, between expected cost, range and reliability.

My minivan days are behind me but if I were in the market for one the ID. Buzz would be at the top my list to check out. VW has had time to work out its infotainment and EV platform bugs so in theory the Buzz should be stronger out of the gate than the ID. 4 was. If you want a minivan I can't imagine what's out there that would top it in the EV space, or even in the ICE space, unless you'll constantly be doing road trips that are longer than say 300 miles. If it does end up getting 260 real world interstate miles per charge that should be fine for most families, especially since VW will have access to the Supercharger network. When it comes to cost, I'm sure it will be high but if you haven't car-shopped in a while you're likely in for some sticker shock, regardless of what new minivan you're looking at.

I know what you mean about sticker prices! We bought our 2013 Honda Odyssey back in 2018 with only 70,000 miles on it for just $12k! I’ve been keeping an eye on the 3 row market, and a clean 5 year old sienna or odyssey is easily $20k or above. But that’s still way better than $40-$60k which I would expect the Buzz to be new. We’ll see what the future holds! Sadly no new 3 row crossovers have the storage capacity of the good old minivan. And neither does the Buzz. 😕 Throw a jogger stroller, a couple kids bikes, coats, diaper bags, and a Costco run in there and there’d only be a few seats left! 😆

@@middler5212 Storage-wise I would expect the Buzz to rival the other minivans you mentioned since VW will only be selling the long wheelbase version here in the states, but yes, given your planned budget you'll most likely end up buying something used.
