Who's listening to this great song in 2024?
Я))))
Me😮😊
I am.Right now on April 10,2024.Clapton has always been incredible.
forever masterpiece
Me, after Drumeos Porcaro special.
I can listen to this forever, man
I see what you did there
Funny Guy!
Agreed, and multiple bonus points for the Eastwood profile pic. You and I appear to have at least two things very much in common.
Now I like à country boy
Like forever man
I Love This Beautiful Song By Eric Clapton Forever Man 1985 Who's Still Listening In 2024❤
We don’t have anything of this quality now
Me.
The GREAT Jeff Porcaro on drums!
The GREAT Nathan East on bass guitar!
The GREAT Michael Omartian on synthesizer!
The GREAT Lenny Castro on congas!
The GREAT Steve Lukather on rhythm guitar!
The GREAT Ted Templeman on timbales and producer!!
Claaaaro para q maas ????!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........
The GREAT Brian the floor sweeper guy that cleaned up the studio afterwards. But no one cares about him....
I was thinking "who is that on drums, they are excellent"...now I know why
Who were the backup singers?
Not Nathan East, unless he has changed colour. That 's Duck Dunn.
Listening to this on my last train home.
Epic man... Clearly major inspiration to our man !
For people who ask me how long I been listening to clapton for.. forever man 🎸🔥🔥
Since the 60s! Love Slow hand!
I had this on a cassette as a kid, CD as a teen, and now online as an adult. Damn good song that still goes hard in 2023!!!💯💯💯
Psst. Doesn’t matter what year you type. It’s gonna go hard no matter what
Killer tune. One of his best.
simply the great rock tune🎉
Oh yea
Yup
Love this song, been in "love" with him for years, but my absolute favorite is "No Alibis" ... so much Truth in the lyrics ❤
Maybe his best vocals too 🥳👌
A lot of guitar players can play 1000 notes per minute, but here is a guy that can give you goose bumps with one note. He's right, it's in the way that you use it.
Ginger baker, claptons drummer of cream of course once said... it's not how hard u play it's what u say!
They don't call him Old Slowhands for nuthin'.
Absolutely!!!
Exactly
When I started lessons with a teacher to learn to play the organ he would say to me "When you play you don't just play how the music is written in the book, you have to add feeling to it".
"When you can bring people to tears i will know ive taught you enough".
45 years later and im proud to say ive achieved everything my teacher said i could do .
That solo is out of this world. Makes my hair stand up
Is there a solo ever done by Clapton that doesn't do that? 😉
I agree. Joe bonamassa is amazing tho. Better. Way better than eric Hendricks and page. Look up Joe
@@pogoskitgod7850 you are funny
Dude I like Joe's playing, but he himself will tell you he is a tribute guitarist(I'm not judging he is 100x better than I'll ever be, but his stuff isn't all that unique)
Totally Bro.’ Jonny Weiss 🎶
It's like the guitar is an extension of his body. He's been my favorite singer/guitarist since I was 14, and I'm almost 69. I love how humble he is, too.
Me too.
SIXTY NINE
Eric's music will last forever man.
This song just takes off with a Bang right from the start....no build up...just bam...love it!
Absolutely just feel it just as so good
Just freaking Great
Freaking fantastic tune
he was always really good at that. he does that in "its in the way that you use it" too. no buildup just a bang from the beginning
Damn, this song is like catching the last train home!
lmao and Last Train Home was released and looks just like this MV
If Clint Eastwood played the guitar, this would be him
😂😂😂😅😅😊😊
Hot!!
You got that right
Yep.!!!👍
You got that right
Every time I see Eric play, I wonder where the man ends and the guitar begins; they always seem as one.
Love Clapton then and now. Timeless music and artist
How is this not the most famous Eric Clapton song?
Because when he was young he did white room what are the top five rock songs of all time
fantastic Clapton 1985... memories!
One of my favorite Clapton solo songs.
Fast Approaching 80 years old and the man and his music still does it for me....
God bless you.
I am 55 and never really thought of dating someone in their 70's but when I think of Eric, Mick ,Rod, Bruce, Steven Tyler and Smokey I might change my mind LOL.
Totally
The way he moves those fingers, oh my!
2:42 even the camera couldn't handle the trenchcoat awesomeness :) gotta love the 80s
thank you MTV to give this music!!!!!
There’s not a single person who captivated the 80’s like Slowhand did. One cannot think of the big 80’s without thinking Clapton. I love how he grew with & through the decades. From lay down sally in the 70’s to forever man in the 80’s to tears in heaven in the 90’s. There are way too many to list from each decade, but you get the point.
Layla
You are young. Start with the 60s.
He was great through the 60s especially..but 70s as well! Then 80s 90s he was clear minded and sober which was some best times 4 sure.
This song came out my senior year in high school. 38 years later, still love it...
It's one of my favorite guitars solo
Still an incredible solo!! Timeless!!
Smiles, hi Carolyn 🌺 😊
I thank God for Eric Clapton.
Best Clapton song in my opinion
This song always sounds good no matter how many years pass by.....♥
te gusta eric buenisima reina linda igul ue tu
I think as a man I can say the same about you and how you look no matter how many years go by, all the best, Paul
Happy 76th Birthday Eric Patrick Clapton!(Born March 30, 1945)😃🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁🍾🥂👍👏🙌
Probably one of the greatest guitar riffs/solos ever.
PRETENDING...LOL
Wow best of Clapton. He would be pissed knowing Biden jams to it
@@johntweedly8170hahaha is there a footage where he jams? Video or link maybe? 😂
it's great that... jeff porcaro added the roll over drum.. to this awesome tune...r i p.. jeff
Can Listen to this over and over.....
James M Yes. Who's singing background vocals on Forever Man?
i been on it for month cant turn it off
Same hereee😆😅
And over. Possibly my favorite guitarist ever 🎸
don't you mean you can listen to this forever
Coolest man ever...
You'll never be as cool as Eric Clapton shredding in a trench coat.
Wouldn't dare try
You sir are correct
With the collar up
No one beats the best, though many try.
Say no more!!!
Nothing like Eric Clapton throwing down on the guitar!!!
Still listening in 2021... this guy will go down in history as a rock god. I miss this kind of music. We need more guitar gods!! Someone please take up the mantle!❤️
Watch the live version of Candy Dulfer playing "I can't make you love me". The young lead guitarist is phenomenal!
Joe bonamassa 🎸
Lovey those days are done glad we had them but keep on growing babe 😺❤️
Sadly, the music industry has been put to death by rap crap and hippity hop! Real music like this with real emotions is never coming back
@@christiane.g.4142 Nothing wrong with rap or hip hop love all music
Calling it now.. John Mayer's last train home music video is going to be similar to this :)
How did you know?????
@@stevereid7773 saw the jacket John was wearing and his hair lmaoo. Remembered what parts of the music video was gonna look like from his tik toks. Also the snippets from the song he released are VERY clapton-esk.
Oh My god you were damn right!!!
Wtf
Wow. You gonna play the lottery soon?? You should!
So far, man's greatest achievement has been the electric guitar.
Three minutes and 20 seconds of pure bliss.
If you first see him here he looks like he works in IT. Then he picks up his guitar and starts to sing and you realise he's a BOSS
My husband had to wear foam knee braces at this time. He'd sing he was a foam-rubber man instead. may he RIP.
wonderful
Sorry for your loss. Interesting story.
That's so wholesome.... I'm so sorry for your loss.... I hate that people who were grown in the 70s and 80s are starting to drop like flies...
Love it !
That's a sweet memory to have to this song, I can totally hear it too. Sorry for your loss💕
Got such a man-crush on 80s Eric Clapton.
Summer, early 80s. Standing on 64th and Madison waiting to cross. Look to my left and smile and say, " slowhand, i love your music" He smiled and said thanks and we went on with our days. A highlight of my many years in NYC.
Nice! You said what I would have said to him.
What a perfect moment. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for saying what we all would have. Lucky you 😺❤️😺❤️
@@sallymullins1328
Thanks. It truly was very organic. It came out in an instant. Like I said, that, and Ringo will always be my NYC highlights.
Probably on his way to a meeting.
Clapton was so HOT when he was younger. He's my ALL-TIME favorite musician and I've always had an extreme crush on him. I'm 66 now and I grew up listening to his music. Thank you for the memories and good times, Eric.....love you, Baby!!
coool
I'm 67 and like you I have the biggest crush on him most of my life. My Bachelorette party 5 girls drove in limo to his concert 300 miles away. It was a Great evening ☺ I've seen him twice after that. And he is HOT
Me too! And I’m a man and not even gay.
Clapton has been my favorite guitarist since he was with Cream. It's all about his style.
@@kaypee1972 ur gay
Clapton & Collins dominated the 80s relentlessly, they also did work on each others albums, what a unit they turned out to be as i called them CAPTAIN & CRUNCH
Just heard this song for the first time on the radio yesterday and now I'm hooked.
Yikes, were you just born! Or did you change from Rap to real, music 🎶 😆
@@rsgirrl hahahaha
Whenever the electric guitar was created, I wonder if the inventor ever thought that Eric Clapton would be the one that perfected it. Clapton is the true "master" blues/rock guitarist!
Eric has perfected it. My opinion. He's one of my all-time favs. 🎤🎸🎵🎶🎵❤️
@Jeff C Did they have commercial hits, awards & have they been inducted into Rock Hall 3 times. This is what I meant by Eric perfecting it. He helped bring guitar playing especially blues to the masses. Those ones you mentioned didn't do any of this. They put out stuff that isn't commercial doesn't sell or generate public interest.
@Jeff C It's not just how great one plays the guitar, in Clapton's case, it was his style that made him one of the greatest of all. The musicians you mention are very unique and skillful, but I'd rather listen to Eric play guitar.
Les Paul
By far my favorite period of Clapton. The big sounding over-produced stuff just works for me…
This is 2021 june the 2nd. Two days from now, John Mayer will release a song called "Last Train Home" and maybe he channeled some of "forever man" on the videoclip.
It's a spitting image of this video.
Hahaha indeed! Came here to see comments like these!
I think it's actually a hybrid between this and even more Bad Love (the jacket and the synth thing), even though Bad Love is in black&white.
He may have channeled it but he wishes he was half as good as Eric.
I like that nasty tone he achieves. Wish he'd do more of that.
Timeless! With the great Jeff Porcaro of Toto on drums.
Guessing here, Lenny Castro on Conga?
@@davidcastelli7893 Yes!
Donald Duck Dunn (Blues Brothers movie) on bass too
@@ciaranmcginn2234 Nathan East
@@davidcastelli7893 Yep! And Steve Lukather on rhythm guitar. Just another Toto song with a featured vocalist😜
Love, love, love this song- so handsome! Love the coat!!
This is song #2 on our marriage soundtrack album. We hadn't been dating too long when I realized she was the one and I truly wanted to be her forever man. There were some bumps and turns, but we've made it through over 30 years together so far!
What song is number 1?
@@elizabethmcleod246 It's #1 in order, not in ranking, but here it is:
th-cam.com/video/zNgcYGgtf8M/w-d-xo.html
FunkyDPL I forgot all about that song. From a man’s perspective of course it’s a great song! ❤️
His vocals are underrated…just around a great talent
Eric Clapton is no doubt one of the greatest musical performers of any era. Nuff said.
I've loved him since I was 14...........I saw him live in 1975 at Stanford University......and every concert after....I'm 62 and he's still my #1.
One of his best! He looks great too.
Eric Clapton is so beautiful in this video
I love this voice, it gives all the songs a lot of strength! Clapton is a very talented musician.
Has always been one of my favourite Clapton songs...
What a legend. One of the best, if not thee best? There will never be another!
Who can't love Eric Clapton...This is my generation..75 years old and stills rocks to the best..
Never be in another Eric Clapton.
In my 06 Hummer I still have a cd player...have Eric, Carlos, Chris Rea, Joe Cocker, Sting and Gary Stewart...most Brits...all 👍 🦸♂️
Get yourself some Rory Gallagher, Peter Green & Robin Trower too!
I prefer this Era of Clapton over his Cream era. His aggression is more articulated here. The chops are tighter, and the tone is to die for. This style of his inspired plenty of blues-rock artists.
Agreed. I purchased my first guitar because of Rage Against The Machine in '99. I learned how to play the thing listening to Clapton.
Eric's guitar tone on Forever Man is really something ... I wonder how he did that 😍🤩
and he's playing "blackie" in this video
Just as a side note: Steve Lukather plays rhythm guitar on this track.
He tuned the whole guitar down to D. He also used a Marshall!
Immortal old school rock and roller in a league of his own
Eric is absolutely supreme. My mom bought me his autobiography. I am a massive fan. His music shall never die. 😍
How many times must I say I love you before you finally understand. Some people are just hard headed!!!
The Master of the Stratocaster!
A living legend, no doubt. What a career, conquered his heroin addiction. Sold some guitar 🎸's to build a re-hab in Antigua? What a MAN! STELLAR CAREER!
You are the "forever man". CD's sold out all over. Saw a smile on your face, usually so into your music. Thank you for all the years of such incredible music and pure pleasure. Just another fan. . . .
Can´t get enough of this song...amazing!
Agreed !
Eric Clapton. He's up there with the very best.
Clapton is unique amongst artists. Having total Blues cred, he masters pop music. It could also be argued that his voice outshines he guitar playing. He is sort of a combo BB King and Buddy Holly.
Clapton always kills it!🤘👍
Slowhand...Forever EC... Happy Birthday!
Music genius. Period.
I have 4 words for you : ERIC CLAPTON GUITAR GOD!!!!!!
Voice still the same as when he was younger 54 years of playing writing great and singing music is long time god bless Eric CLAPTON
The one, the only, Eric Clapton!
Beperkte oplage gemaakt door de laatste twee maanden
Oplichter kinderlokker beperkte modus moet nog een van een aantal mensen
Such a great song - Clapton just makes it look so easy - my only knock on this video - only 2 brief glimpses of the lovely backup singers with the 80s hair
Listened to his catalogue growing up and still can't get enough, will be listening to his tuneage forever man,
Love when he cracks the smile. So many times at his back-up singers, always the best. This time looks like Marcy Levi and Shawn Murphy?
I love Jeff Porcaro’s drumming on this
Yet not appearing in the video. This is his tour band that did the video.
🐐🐐🐐
This could be a David Gilmour or Pink Floyd song and sound equally good
Jamie Oldaker.
@@SWog617 Jeff Porcaro does not appear on the music video but it's him in the studio recording.
The master at his craft...
So glad I've seen his concert!
This is my favorite Clapton tune. ❤
One of the all time great videos.
Cowboy styled Long jackets (aka the Wild Bunch) just make this band look so cool (without even trying).......
And just to add the finishing touch .................Donald "Duck" Dunn one of the greatest (anyone who's seen The Blues Brothers knows that)..........RIP my friend. Gone but NEVER Forgotten!!!
Thank you Big Jim ♥️
One of Clapton's greatest songs, ever.
Make it his VERY best
There are too many !
Yes one the greatest but not the greatest.
Quality never goes out of style....
How many times must I tell you, baby?
How many bridges I've got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself?
Before I can talk to the boss
'Fore I can talk to the boss
How many times must I say, "I love you"
Before you finally understand?
Won't you be my forever woman?
I'll try to be your forever man (forever man)
Try to be your forever man
How many times must I say, "I love you"
Before you finally understand?
Won't you be my forever woman?

Forever man, forever man, forever man (forever man)

Try to be your forever man
The ones giving thumbs down are just jealous they can't play like him or good looking
I can play like him but I look like shit. So you're right. But I didn't thumb this down.
Or they're music snobs who actually like Clapton but think that anything he did outside the Blues is crap. Nothing could be further from the truth though. HIs Pop/Rock music was just as well crafted & enjoyable.
You got that right Susan hit it right on the head there jealous they could take that thumb and just Ram it right up there⬆️⬆️⬆️BUTT!!!

@@SpaceCattttt hes not better looking than me,but he can play guitar and i can`t.
His live shows are awesome, this band has some of the best sound engineers in the biz..!!
No doubt! He's AMAZING in concert!
As previously mentioned, studio legend and original drummer for Toto, the late Jeff Porcaro, was on drums for this great EC song. RIP
Actually at 42 seconds you see a blond curly haired Jamie Oldaker on drums.
He'll always be my forever man. He is fantastic, handsome, talented and a real bad ass! My kind of man.
Smiles, hello Victoria 🌺 😊
Hello handsome.
No other song brings my soul up so high as this one does, it just got the perfect sound. I bet I could resurrect to this song
Every time I think I hear Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather playing on a cut, I check the credits, and guess what? Yep, that's them playing! Dang, what 80's albums were these two awesome cats not on? Both, top notch musicians of all time. Love them!!!!!!!!!
Two powerhouses, for sure!
This one's for you baby.❤❤
