How many times must I tell you babe,
How many bridges I've got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself
Before I can talk to the boss,
'Fore I can talk to the boss?
How many times must I say I love you
Before you finally understand?
Won't you be my forever woman?
I'll try to be your forever man,
Try to be your forever man.
Second Verse
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.
Enjoy!
This song Reminds me of my late father. He'll always be my forever man
Tim Renwick's solo was so melodic... won my heart❤
Tim Renwick? I know him from Al Stewart records.
You are absolutely right. Tim‘s solo is the best by far. Best live version of Forever Man in TH-cam universe.
@@MaxMontauk Has a Knopfler ring to it
80s Clapton often overlooked but I think he had some KICK ASS songs in the 80s....
I don't overlook them - 80's Clapton songs are FANTASTIC !!
Lovely seeing those dual tambourines in action. Percussion like that makes a huge difference to the energy of a track.
I was at this show. Row 5. I actually bootlegged it only to find out they were recording it anyway!
+shawnbrennan1 I'm extremely envious.
...and the great Jamie Oldaker 💙
He had an unique style of drumming...😊
@sunnyzorruo underrated drummer for sure.
Such a solid rhythm section of Duck and Jamie! Saw Mr. Clapton many times during the 80s, unfortunately never saw Mr. Dunn, what a solid player for so many decades!!
Eric even came out to help his crew out breaking down, winding cords etc. and took a break, walked over pulled out a cigarette from that iconic leather vest and asked me how I liked the show! Blew my 16 yr old mind.
tempo can be everything....this just got insane. Good to see the Duck though.
Yeah, played it a little fast. Might've done some yeyo before and during the show.
Totally agree Duck Dunn was a great bass player R.I.P.
@@duanesealy3592 f'n A, he was. He's up there with the best bass players of all time.
yes!
thankyou i was trying to remember name of chap on the bass... 🙂
Not porcaro
Eric Clapton...say n'more. I'm in my declining years now but this amazing man has influenced my rock since I first discovered radio. Seems like the first 'long' song I heard was Layla. We were so used to the Beatles' short songs and Layla just jumped out at us. Incredible guitarist and lyricist, Clapton is one for the books :) Cream, Derrick and the Dominos, Clapton. 'Nuff said.
Your end is nie

Dang that’s fast paced
Bloody hell! Hits you like a bullet , it's sung that fast.
He's at the top of his game during the 80's thru the 90's. And this song had special significance between me and my late husband; it was a private joke. Love it!!
Foam-rubber man!
I remember you from the original, what a sweet story thank you for sharing
I knew someone who joked that it sounded like he was singing "Poor Rebel Man", lol.

Eric was in such good vocal form here.
NYVoice yes indeed
With the increased competition from the new wave of guitar heroes Clapton did very well to establish himself as a great singer.
He was sober in 85. Relapsed again not long after mind.
My favorite Clapton song. Fortunately, he is still alive despite the poor life choices he made.
Beautiful,perfect, thanks....
Great Clapton and the drummer WOO
it was my first Clapton song I ever heard, it was 1985, it was also the first Lp from Eric, Wow, what a groove.
See here Donald "Duck" Dunn, R.I.P
Same experience for me. I was 12 or 13 years old when this album came out, so it was my introduction to Eric Clapton. Still one of my favorites from him even though it's probably overlooked on the whole.
I feel even older, seeing these videos over & over, never gets old 🤔Lol🎸😎Eric Clapton/ Cream/ all awesome music 🎵🎶 music 🎧😎👍
Damn I love the lead, love the song...yeah..love Clapton...wow...yeah keep it coming wow
Just perfect love eric..from Greece
Great drummer
Wish this song was twice as long.
The song WOULD and SHOULD have been longer but the band was playing the song as if they were all on SPEED or something. Jeez, the band was playing WAY TOO DAMNED FAST. I had a hankering to hear this song and I chose LIVE and I was so disappointed right off. This happens though all the damn time. Band members simply play a song too damned fast. It's a problem with any band. The best bands can fuck up a song by either playing a song too fast or too slow.
Amazing I wanna play my guitar like him!
It's all minor pentatonic with an added flat 5th.
lol who wouldn't?
One of my Clapton favorites!! Awesome stuff here.
Wow, my Favorite Clayton tune, love it, this live version is amazing.
Yeah Clayton sho am good!
fast
but great 🙂
To my Wife In Heaven 2-20-22.
We was so young Clapo?! And crazy as well!
One kick ass tune!
this version is simply Masterpiece !!!!
From this album, a great blues tune called "Same Old Blues". Give it a listen.
Hit it Eric!!!
Wow! My favorite Clapton song
Played too fast!!!! Ya like a song all fucked up like this??? Not me.
Saw him play Sydney Australia 1987. I was mesmerised. God.
yeah.... Sydney, Florida, USA 33527
I really think that Tim Renwick's guitar solo is better than Clapton's one, especially at 2:36. Really beautiful.
Eric agree with that smile❤
totally agree
I've heard Clpaton was kidna druk at this concert tho
Clapton's doing the solo from the song?
..and the other guy is doing his own thing, maybe??
sorry, who is he?
@@davidevans3227 Tim Renwick
wow, Chris Stainton was playing with eric ever since. I did not know that, very nice.
In 1979 was the first time they play toghether :) Almost 40 years
Wow! That was fast! It actually felt like it was speeding up during the song. LOL
Nothing wrong with that. Music should speed up and slow down occasionally. It makes it more real and organic.
Saw this on MTV I think and was properly introduced to EC...mesmerized.
King Clapton 🚬
My all time favourite. Simply awesome.
Perfection
10 weeks later, Live Aid, Philadelphia, plus Phil Collins, 2nd drummer
What a band!
This song needs another 2 verses, too short and freakin rocks!
His self titles album "Clapton" which came out in the mid 80s is one fine album.
Eric is playing this somewhat differently then in later years , just look at where his hands are on the fret board . Genius .
He was in the Clapton Box. Presto is to fast. Album version waay betta.
eric is,fantastic here,at this,video,sounds,great and,funky toot
Grande Clapton! Simplesmente o deus da guitarra!
Great Eric!!
Duck shines!
I like this song the most from his.
Tim best solo!
LOVE IT!! 🤩
greate!!!
Nice to see brownie come out for the alternate tuning backup
Tim sounds quite a bit like Eric when he takes that outro solo. He was good when he played with Floyd, too.
He’s an outstanding guitarist- brilliant tone
sorry, who is he?
don't recognise anyone except the bass player and e.c. of course... 🙂
Very uptempo for ol' slowhand. Which is nice.
2:37 Tim Renwick and Eric Clapton are grinning because they changed the rules as usually Clapton plays the solos and Renwick the rhythms.
A little bit faster than other videos I have seen but good.
私の好きな曲です。
love it
I thought it wasnt clapton at the outro, and its true haha
The Master
1/2 step faster than recording....sounds amazing.
Totally agree
Brownie!!🤘
This was the beginning of the end for the music industry...............
nah...I'm going with Madonna
lool
good thing Eric Clapton plays the solo otherwise I'd be like...whatever...
Who are backup singers here. They are fantastic
I like the Layla riff Tim Renwick snuck in there
Does a band get any better than that?!
8 people read the description and couldn't figure out who was doing the lead vocals.
Spacecamp (1986) brought me here 😂
Songs from this era are pretty forgettable but I dig the band from this period with Oldaker and Dunn et al.
Rever man rever man rever man
Shout
A little fast compared to the original
Do Much Speed???
Cool he let someone else play lead a bit. Not so sure he would have allowed that in his younger years as a solo artist but you guys would know better than I. I am not a huge fan but love this song.
松田優作が蘇る優作がまさにフォーエバーマン
Is that the guy from the fcking Blues Brothers ?!??!
Yep.
This video was sped up. Not the way it was played
better at 0,75 speed?
… I’m trying to be your warm little man, rubber band, frying pan, level sand… level sand level sand level sand.
is this brownie he's playing? or his '54 strat
Is that his Brownie strat?
Zane Hamill Looks like it.

One of Eric Clapton's best songs. This performance appeals additionally for its expression of complete harmony, sympathy and love. However, Eric's sorely chapped lips are a reminder of life's never ending demands. The frayed skin on his lips suggest individual sensitivity to food-born nickel, particularly when they combine with dry skin, dandruff, acne, athlete's foot, migraine, asthma, fatigue, diabetes, hives, eczema. Those individuals usually have a dietary preference for high-nickel food, e.g. cocoa (chocolate), nuts, legumes, soybean products, lye pastries, bread rolls and cakes that contain raising agents (baking soda). Who's that other guitarist who comes in and plays the lead....What's his name?
That Girl
Tim Reddy
Tim Renwick
He’s a great guitarist. Played on the later Pink Floyd tours also.
+Supercross junkie, the blues bore you? Really, what are you two?
Tempo fast on this version,
who was that drummer?
Jamie Oldaker
Jamie oldaker the Best drumer
This song sounds like the tune Bad Love
Yeah, this happens when bands create new songs. Compare The Allman Brothers Band on Hittin' The Note when the play Firing Line and The High Cost of Low Living. Both songs are in the same KEY I guess since I don't play music. Anyway, both songs seem very similar. That said, I love the two songs. I think the two songs should have been separated by other songs on the CD so the fans wouldn't have noticed how similar the songs are. Bands recycle good solos and riffs and sometimes a good song went another way and this is the story of these two great song. Fans just understand that these two songs should not have been back to back.
donald duck
And THAT, folks, is what happens when Steve Gadd is NOT on the gig.... ugh.
Is that Jeff Pecoro on drums.
That the great Jeff Porcaro on drums????
Jeff played on the album version I think this is Jamie Oldaker but I’m not one hundred percent could not see his face much
Who’s the drummer? Thanks
Jamie oldeaker
