Easily one of the smoothest rock songs ever recorded. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been alive when all of this amazing music was being created. No computers, no synthesizors, no modified vocals. Just pure, unbelievable talent.
No need to be inked and pierced, or perform simulated sex on stage here. Just guys in simple shirts playing absolute genius music. The haunting quality of the melody, and Winwood’s voice almost brought tears to my eyes. Perfection.
Just listened to the Dismal Niche Orchestra band play this song tonight at Pizzario in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon. I came home and watched this version like I typically do, 8-10 times EVERY week!!!

Oh how true is that! From “John Barleycorn Must Die” to his show I was blessed to see at the Montreal Jazz Festival, “An Evening With Steve Winwood and Friends”, the friends being Tito Puente and Arturo Sandoval - Steve sings in Spanish just as well as he does in English, all of it top shelf!! His work with Traffic and his solo work are so tragically overlooked or considered an afterthought.
62 Years-old - been listening to these guys for decades. This is the best version I've ever heard. In addition to the beautiful vocals and instrumentals, the lyrics really hits me hard; seems like we're all looking for our way home...
I’m sure Steve and Eric have played this song hundreds of times together, but that night, there was magic in the air and they both knew it. The way they looked at each other says it all.
I often blame the death of Top 40 Radio on this fact - that "nothing exists" which is really "nothing we know of" because there is no massed playing of a set of songs ("top 40, 30, Top 10, whatever".=). But we all loved building custom cassettes in the '70s onward, even handing a copy or two out to friends in those years. And I know I listened to less and less Top 40 (and decried it aplenty, back then, and all but gave up Radio in the '80s as more and more went to 'programming' on a centralized national avenue). Today's streaming offers those great custom playlists - one for everyone! - but that means a handful of people are listening to the same song at the same time. The misery of national-programming of one company's chosen 'hits' has this natural response: "When everyone can listen anything, no one's listening the same thing." No music has months of listeners. Most may not have even a week's worth. So, I blame loathesome Radio for this failure to ensure the masses hear the same thing at the same time. And I thank them, too. A true double-edged sword. But I've found great new artists, too. Only a few make the same impression, even among my chums. Mine will therefore quit and return to day-jobs, hoping to supplement hourly wages with an evening gig or two in a month, and eventually they'll be 'too old' to draw a crowd.
@@kyledonnelly6716 I saw the Derek Trucks Band open for Eric Johnson at the much-missed 328 Performance Hall in Nashville in 2001. I'd never heard of him then, but I was completely blown away. I've seen him several times since, and he continues to blow me away each and every time I see him play live.
At the time that this song was released, there was a mandatory military draft in the US, to provide soldiers to fight in an illegal, undeclared war. Rose coloured glasses.
Steve Winwood does this song like he owns it, fabulous composition. The smooth melody of his guitar along with his voice, bravo! a performance to remember.
I heard his stuff on an off through my late teens and early twenties - I'm now 62 - and always liked his stuff. Blind Faith, Traffic, solo stuff. But then went down the rabbit hole into prog.... Only really now, the last 10 years or so, have I come to appreciate him so much more. What an all-round great - so multitalented. He's the last person to want to be called a 'giant' of music. But, really, he is.....
This is what it looks like when really talented people have their egos in check. All 4 of those guys would be headliners in most clubs, and they just just played a classic as well as anyone ever did.

Those smiles Winwood throws Clapton are priceless, and the nod and grin at the end are both heartwarming and well-earned. They killed it, and Winwood knows it.
Eric Clapton looks up to very, very few people in the music universe but one he does an enormous respect for is Steve Winwood. They know each other forever and Clapton knows exactly how incredibly multi-talented Winwood is.

Yes, my thoughts. Too bad he's not wearing oven mitts and ready to pull out pizzas from the stage-over - "At least I'm contributing SOMETHING-!!" I laugh at his 'stuck in the background' role here but I also believe this would have been one of his childhood dreams: "To be on-stage with Clapton and Winwood? YES PLEASE. I'll even wear oven-mitts and an apron instead of a guitar & strap!!" Just being there...
I'm not sure he's 'just chilling' - he's keeping that riff steady while the main men play to each other and re-make this beautiful song yet again, even more beautifully than ever. Credit to absolutely everyone who had a part in what must have been a magical performance.
@@scrappyjunk8793 In '71 I was 14. Bought Eric Clapton at his Best (Polydor) from Columbia House 10 for $1 intro deal. That started my Clapton fandom. Went to college and listened to EC with John Mayall and the Blues Breakers. That sealed the deal for me. Seen Clapton, Trucks, and Bramhall live. Really want to see Steve.
I come back and listen to this live version from time to time; these guys still kill it after all those years...still puts a smile on my face. Some of you might be old enough to remember when songs like this were on our car radios day and night. Oh how I miss those simpler times.
Happened to hear a terrible version by the same guys at BST in 2017 or some time. SW seemed to be playing in a different key. But, (and you know this), I didn't really mind. X
I couldn't agree more about Steve Winwood's wonderful talents. It's almost unbelievable that many people are unaware of how much he's contributed to music.
I'm 70 years old. I look back on this music and find it hard to believe how much we took it for granted. So much good music coming from all directions - not just rock - and I thought it would simply continue. Whatever inspired it has gone but I'm hopeful it will come back.
I'm 58 and I don't think we will see any return to it. Not to be a doom and gloom man, but its like the current generations have had tripe so long that is all they prefer because it is coated in sugar and deep fried. We know what real music "tastes" like and it fills us and nourishes us. Today auto tune and backtracks, etc. are all they can appreciate. This sounds like a 14th century relic to them. Its sad, they are missing out on such profound harmonies, music and deep, deep lyrics. Enjoy while you can!!!
71 here, and couldn’t agree more with each and every commenter. The days of this talent like this is fading fast. Been listening to both of these since the days of the Spencer Davis Group, and Clayton’s early days with the Yardbirds and maybe one of the best bands ever, Cream. It’s said some things only happen once in a generation, and well kids, I’m afraid for us,………it’s sadly true.
I love how they looked at each other. “Yeah, we just crushed this”. They play licks alongside each other without stepping on the other guys line. It’s amazing. Two geniuses. ❤️

i'm an elder millennial (1982 baby) and i have loved this musical era for as long as i can remember! this was music of my dad's college days (1969-1973)...he taught me well! lol
Though he's much more than just a guitar player, to quote Eric Clapton, "Steve Windwood is one of the greatest guitar players that nobody knows about." What a array of talent on that stage that night. And not just referring to those 2 guys.
I am a big fan of winwood & have been for 50 yrs. not just on the guitar but look at him on the keyboards with traffic & while My guitar gently weeps with Prince Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne
You couldn't have asked for a better lineup of session musicians for this either. SO difficult to get TWO drummers perfectly in sync from start to finish, and there was not one missed note or off-step from beginning to end. As good as the original recording was and still is, _this_ one is brilliant - and live to boot. On their best days someone screws up something during a live performance, and there wasn't a glitch _anywhere_ in this rendition. I've revered a ton of guitarists in my 66 years, but none more than Eric Clapton (shoutout to Leo Kottke, the best 12-string acoustic player there ever was).
I will never tire of this beautiful song. 68 years old and thankful to have had exposure to the greatest music that is as relevant today as it was decades ago.
Just listened to this again....three times. I am 73 and agree with previous comments - damn, what a legacy of music, passion, poetry, awareness, and...thinking...we were weaned on. I feel very fortunate.
Steve Winwood's smiling nod at the end says,"that was as close to perfection as it can get, boys." I bought this album in high school in 1969 just for this song.
This is the greatest composition of live music that includes several guitars ever. To cleanly combine 5 or 6 guitars like this is damn amazing . No one steps out of place. Unreal
Yeah, I agree WBM71. The song has a slow but haunting meaning. That coupled with the great guitar picking make it a tune that people find themselves singing and humming.... It almost brings on a tear, it is so moving.
I share this sentiment. Actually, I was young and poor during the late 60s when Winwood was just becoming known, but I did not know him or his work. The in 70, I went into the Marines and spent a huge amount of time out of the US, and once again, I was isolated from most of the music of the day with the primary source of music being the armed forces radio network, which had diversity (country, pop, classical) but lacked depth. By the time I was clear of these things, Winwood was out of the mainstream. It was not until the early 2000s that I "discovered" Winwood, and the song that did that was "Can't find my way home." When I started to use the (then early) Internet to learn more, I was pretty surprised at the number of groups Winwood was in and his connections to so many works and people in the industry, and the more I listened to him, the more I came to appreciate him, and today, he is one of my favorite artists of all time. Like you, I believe he deserves far more attention than he gets.
I had always known Steve Winwood was a superior keyboard player, singer and writer. Then I saw him and Clapton live, and watched as Clapton stepped back and let Steve play lead. I was blown away. Met him while I was tending bar, and he was the nicest guy too.
You can really appreciate the talent of Eric Clapton, Winwood and Derek Trucks, nephew of the late, great Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band. This is excellent…
The look Steve gives Clapton after the last note. Subtle smile that said we just crushed that song. Probably the best I’ve heard you have Clapton, winwood, dereck trucks, Doyle bramhall all blending guitars. Some of the best guitarist in the world blending without stepping on each other.
So true, Todd. The way he just nods everyone into it too, there isn't a time I've seen him when he hasn't been appreciative of the musicians around him. Total quality.
I agree with you 100% did you see the other video Steven Woodward singing Eric Clapton's are with them singing the same song but there's another video of it it's called Paul McCartney playing the piano Ringo Starr playing the drums and guess who the other guitar person is George Harrison's son and he looks just like his father and they even I've seen another one just like it and they even step through and said yeah his son plays better than George everybody was laughing there's another video out there there's like about three of them
I keep coming back to this video and am always amazed at how simple but great this is. I just turned 83 and from day one I was never disappointed in the music of Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. Add in Derek Trucks on slide and Doye Bramhall doing all the fills and you have nothing but the best. Music the way it was meant to be played.
I can’t tell you what year (many moons ago) when I heard Stevie Winwood I fell in love with his voice. Eric and Derek are right there with him. Gosh we had the best music. Not saying what’s out there today is not good but we had excellent. That’s why the kids are going back to our generation ✌️
I'm of a younger generation than a lot of the commentators on here. That aside , I grew up listening to the most epic soundtracks due to my parents. Their eclectic choice of sounds that graced our house are the reason I'm writing this today. How blessed myself and my siblings are to have been filled with the best that music & musicians could give. I, in turn, pass it on to my children in the hope that they can connect with music written many decades before they blessed this world.
Well said friend...1965, aged 11 ...I used to listen to my older brother's 60's vinyls after school...hammond organ, harmonica,Blues riffs and voices of Eric Burdon,Van Morrison,Steve W indelibly etched into my psyche....1985 my 10 year old son loved Talking Heads...10 years later he turned me on to some old school Hip Hop and Reggae and I turned him on to some old school blues. 2009 my 17 yr old Grandson was into Metal ,fan of Iron Maiden so I took him to see Jeff Beck to give him some balance 🤣 It just occurred to me also, the impact of working for 2 years with an old Osteopath/Healer who played Classical music and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir 😳during treatment sessions...I was a "captive audience"😂...initially...then...🤩 An endless and wondrous cycle in motion....life is good...and great music from any genre simply makes it better ! Blessings to you and your family. 🙏
Our daughter also grew up listening to our music and loves it ! I especially like 60’s - 80’s from Elvis to The Beatles- all varieties of rock from so many wonderful voices and instruments my wife still remembers seeing Cream, Jimmy Hendrix, Paul Butterfield in concert! Also The rolling stones(0ld school ) and the Association performed at her high school! Remember the Battle of the bands for ppl that wanted to break into the music biz? We still listen to the “oldies” as they are called now! I even got to see the Beatles . But we also listen to classical and the late great Pavarotti!
With all the technical wizardry that is available to modern artists that enhance their performance there is no incentive to learn as Clapton Winwood, Trucks and Bramhall did.
I keep coming back to this because out of all 5 guitarists, the two drummers, and the background singers, there isn't a single flaw anywhere in this performance. As close to perfection as we're ever gonna get.
And not a pro tool, computer, or even a synth in sight, just everyday instruments played by seasoned musicians, combined with soulful vocals to produce a natural, organic magic. This is music, it will last forever.
One thing, as you watch it over and over you will see "nuance". Subtle and smooth moves by all the musicians to bring the best possible sound to their audience. That means they care. Its not about selling records, its about moving hearts.
Well, to be fair Pink Floyd uses a lot of synth. I mean, are you going to tell Rick Wakeman or Emmerson, Lake and Palmer no synth allowed? But, your point is well made none-the-less.
And there is in fact a Nord synth visible. But the musicianship, artistry, connectedness, and pure soulfulness in this performance is so beautiful. Wow.
The way these artists communicate, without a word, is genius. A slight nod of the head, the way Winwood's left shoulder dips, torso turns slightly, fleeting glances...tremendous. Clapton has more talent in his right foot than any living musician has in his entire body, present company excluded. Marvelous.
I agree these are extremely talented but there are others with a similar amount of talent, Mark Knoffler & David Gilmour are just two that rank alongside him!
I'm 61 years old and I know that I've grown up with the best music ever. It will be no others like these. The music is fantastic what they have today is not like the music we have that we grew up with, so yes, and I'm still listening in 2024.

You could tell by the look and nod at the end, they knew they nailed it. It may have taken them 25 yrs. to play together, but when they did, it was worth the wait! Truly great!

It’s 2024, I’m 72, my husband is 74, and we’ve been privileged to have lived through the greatest period of rock imaginable. The talent on that stage is immense - and I include everyone in that.
Yes! We were so, so lucky. I'm 75 and will never stop loving this song. There's a great rendition of it on Clapton's channel, too.
they're just numbers really (age-years), you could consider this concert as just occured if you want... put the watch and calendars away, and pay no mind to the rotation of this earth.. music is timeless ...and if it was made by us, then we're timeless too... enjoy the upright and dance til ya can't be...
@@acelinkarmorteam2599 You're right of course, but it feels nice to check in with fellow (mostly) Boomers once in awhile. The music we were so fortunate to be surrounded by and immersed in was a shared experience ... it's still fun to share it.

Easily one of the smoothest rock songs ever recorded. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been alive when all of this amazing music was being created. No computers, no synthesizors, no modified vocals. Just pure, unbelievable talent.
Hell yes!!!!!
Amen, brother!
Hope you r still alive to enjoy this wonderful talent.

“Easily!!”
No doubt about it
And hey me too!!
Blind Faith,the Best ever!!!
No need to be inked and pierced, or perform simulated sex on stage here. Just guys in simple shirts playing absolute genius music. The haunting quality of the melody, and Winwood’s voice almost brought tears to my eyes. Perfection.
Bingo. And hell yes.
Well said.

Perfection personified 💯
Just listened to the Dismal Niche Orchestra band play this song tonight at Pizzario in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon. I came home and watched this version like I typically do, 8-10 times EVERY week!!!
No tattoos. No grills. No attitudes. Just straight up rhyhtm and harmony, Pure refinement.
And not in jail like P Diddy 😅
PostMalone is covered in tattoos and he’s a great musician. In Steve and Eric’s youth the only people with tattoos were convicts and sailors.
No auto tune!
The way Clapton plays his riffs "behind" Winwood is just amazing. Smooth as glass and never overpowering. I come back to this video again and again.
The measure of a true professional, he doesn't have to be front and center, he fills in wherever it will work best.

Steve Winwood may be the most underrated musician of the last 60 years.
I agree.
Yes….Most Definitely 👍🏼
Oh how true is that! From “John Barleycorn Must Die” to his show I was blessed to see at the Montreal Jazz Festival, “An Evening With Steve Winwood and Friends”, the friends being Tito Puente and Arturo Sandoval - Steve sings in Spanish just as well as he does in English, all of it top shelf!! His work with Traffic and his solo work are so tragically overlooked or considered an afterthought.
So true!
Admittedly, the only one Jimi felt threatened by 💜
Is it just me or is this song perfect?
As close as any song EVER gets!
Was thinking the same thing, a wonderful song and this performance is spot on!
Yes, it is perfect! The only problem is that is ends. I want to hear it over and over!
Not you, my friend, it’s perfect!
I wouldn't call it perfect but it's awfully fkg good.
62 Years-old - been listening to these guys for decades. This is the best version I've ever heard. In addition to the beautiful vocals and instrumentals, the lyrics really hits me hard; seems like we're all looking for our way home...
And at the end for everyone, they will be looking for that way home
Yeah finally. I'm getting there.
I watched this live performance first time today. Wow! I had to listen again immediately.
32 yrs old. People my age suck
I am still looking for my home to God.........................I will find it soon
I’m sure Steve and Eric have played this song hundreds of times together, but that night, there was magic in the air and they both knew it. The way they looked at each other says it all.
This takes me back way way back.
Oh man, they nailed!!! All of them!
That was right on!
And when Winwood smiles at the end he realizes it too.
When you know you've nailed it. The whole lineup on this song was tremendous. This rivals the original for my favorite rendition of an old classic.
There is absolutely nothing in 2024 that compares to this song and incredible talent
This song will out live all of us 😢
I agree 100%
And poor Derek Trucks just stands there completely outshined. What an amazing performance by all.
@@kyledonnelly6716 I saw the Derek Trucks Band open for Eric Johnson at the much-missed 328 Performance Hall in Nashville in 2001. I'd never heard of him then, but I was completely blown away. @@walkonfire Me too, he also kills on the Hammond Organ, has since his teens.
Steve Winwood does this song like he owns it, fabulous composition. The smooth melody of his guitar along with his voice, bravo! a performance to remember.
His guitar skills are overshadowed by his other amazing talents.
Clapton, Winwood, Trucks, and Bramhall. 4 guitars playing with each other no one stepping on the other, just a magnificent sound on a classic tune.

Agreed.

Wow Hang on to that memory
So true
that's typical of clapton.... let's the others lead the show, he's perfectly happy stepping back and just enjoying others playing
🥰🥰🥰
You can really appreciate the talent of Eric Clapton, Winwood and Derek Trucks, nephew of the late, great Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band. This is excellent…
I thought that was Derek
The slide almost a dead giveaway @@skye1061
I'm glad to know history, and great music, 👍
They are incredibly magificient all of them Fabulous muscians 🎼🎸🎼
I think I also saw P Carrack on the keyboards
What do a bunch of musical geniuses sound like? This.
For the last 40 years I have loved this song, and this rendition is just as beauiful...
Music that cuts deep and leaves a beautiful scar.
Hello Jo,how are you and your family doing i hope you are safe!
At 73, he still makes my heart sing….beyond beautiful. Music of my life, thank heaven!
I am 73 years young. Blind Faith pulled lots of us through. Love you. Sister
I saw Traffic w/ Steve in '71. Amazing.
The look Steve gives Clapton after the last note. Subtle smile that said we just crushed that song. Probably the best I’ve heard you have Clapton, winwood, dereck trucks, Doyle bramhall all blending guitars. Some of the best guitarist in the world blending without stepping on each other.
Just missing Yngwie Malmsteen then....... 😀
They crushed it!
So true, Todd. The way he just nods everyone into it too, there isn't a time I've seen him when he hasn't been appreciative of the musicians around him. Total quality.
For sure
I agree with you 100% did you see the other video Steven Woodward singing Eric Clapton's are with them singing the same song but there's another video of it it's called Paul McCartney playing the piano Ringo Starr playing the drums and guess who the other guitar person is George Harrison's son and he looks just like his father and they even I've seen another one just like it and they even step through and said yeah his son plays better than George everybody was laughing there's another video out there there's like about three of them
im just amazed that this live version sounds even better than the studio recording.
a classic rock station in my town...they play this when they play the song...
Well said Sir!
@@shaundavenport621 Well I am back again and now I am 85.
You know your band is loaded when Derek Trucks is the third guitar.
Three excellent guitarists .......no limits to what they can play
I can’t tell you what year (many moons ago) when I heard Stevie Winwood I fell in love with his voice. Eric and Derek are right there with him. Gosh we had the best music. Not saying what’s out there today is not good but we had excellent. That’s why the kids are going back to our generation ✌️
Awesome never goes out of style.
yeah, no shit!
Derek was just letting Stevie show off his new guitar🤡🤡🤡
I'm so proud of my generation! We knew how to do MUSIC!
And mess up the environment, racism etc
Me too, VERY proud!
I wasn't born untill the mid 60's but atleast I got to grow up listening to this !
Absolutely!
You know it ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
I'm of a younger generation than a lot of the commentators on here.
2009 my 17 yr old Grandson was into Metal ,fan of Iron Maiden so I took him to see Jeff Beck to give him some balance 🤣
It just occurred to me also, the impact of working for 2 years with an old Osteopath/Healer who played Classical music and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir 😳during treatment sessions...I was a "captive audience"😂...initially...then...🤩
An endless and wondrous cycle in motion....life is good...and great music from any genre simply makes it better !
And that’s how it’s done. I listen to this video at least once weekly. It gives me hope that the music I grew up on will survive.
Well said
With all the technical wizardry that is available to modern artists that enhance their performance there is no incentive to learn as Clapton Winwood, Trucks and Bramhall did.
Great music from GIANT musicians will álways survive !
Amen brother.
And no auto-tune!
Artists mate,real musicians.
Wow.
Pure magic......it never gets old.
I agree with you 100%. I keep coming back and coming back to hear this video over and over again.
Never!!
The best of the best
Brilliant!!
Bravo
If we could only turn the clock back! JUST AWESOME❤
We will never hear music like this again after this era of musicians are gone😔
One of the most amazing convergence of musical genius to have ever been on one stage.
missing Steve Gadd
Great great music! The way home is a boogie....whump bumbp badoodle...
Best performance of this song that I have ever heard. 🎶🎸💙
I agree My Dear 💖💖💖
The amount of talent on that stage is astounding. Flowing like a river
The way these artists communicate, without a word, is genius. A slight nod of the head, the way Winwood's left shoulder dips, torso turns slightly, fleeting glances...tremendous. Clapton has more talent in his right foot than any living musician has in his entire body, present company excluded. Marvelous.
This clean music, superb...I will listen to this song over and over
I agree these are extremely talented but there are others with a similar amount of talent, Mark Knoffler & David Gilmour are just two that rank alongside him!
There's a shit ton of people on this planet with equal pickin' skills as EC. That's an ignorant statement.
yes I love those gentle nods x
These guys have probably been playing this song together for 50 years. They definitely have it figured out..... No rough edges.
I'm 61 years old and I know that I've grown up with the best music ever. It will be no others like these. The music is fantastic what they have today is not like the music we have that we grew up with, so yes, and I'm still listening in 2024.
The wonderfully stark contrast of this masterpiece to the audible diarrhea that passes as 'music' today is off any measurable scale!
Although i may agree with you, I remember the comments my parents made in 1963/1964 when the British Invasion took place. You need to understand there are flavors than just vanilla for a reason.
@@jjosport Everyone loved "Yesterday" just a year later. "Something" from 1969 was one of Frank Sinatra's favourite songs. THAT's the difference.
congrats your old.
I am 72, and recall sitting in my 66 Chevelle SS with an FM tuner under the dash, picking up an outlaw station on the Virginia border, sitting in a McDonald drive in, mesmerized listening to them back around 1969 or 1970. Outstanding being part of it.
Exactly my chevelle wasn't an ss though

No one makes music like this anymore. Those were the years I remember for great music 🎶 😅
I have always been a fan of Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton since the very early 70's. I am 65 years old, have fantastic children whom are great performing musicians. I am very grateful for music of the seventies and eighties ❤
Fucking Awesome 👍👍🍻👍🍻. I'm 63 and this fucking rocks!!!!! Steve Winwood doesn't get the recognition he DESERVES 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😭
You could tell by the look and nod at the end, they knew they nailed it. It may have taken them 25 yrs. to play together, but when they did, it was worth the wait! Truly great!
We grew up with the best music ever.
At 64 yr's young, I 'me still try'in to find my way back home. I know I'll get there. Thanks for the post and the band....
God bless you
You and me both! Lol
urankjj 57 and i did find my way home👍
Such a haunting song. I was once lost, this song resonates. Beautiful.
I've been lost for so long, there's only one way I'm getting home...hope I don't have to wait too long, I'm sore and I'm tired, listening to this reminds me there's still beauty in this world and things worth livin for, thank you.
I am 71 years old, I was living in Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa, I grow with the music of that time, the best ever, a really transformative music, not surpassed by anything, a blooming blessed time.
Ceuta, in Morocco.
Incredible piece of music... even after all these years, it still sounds fresh.
My mother has alzheimers this is her song ,I love her so much I hate to see her suffer .....
She will find her way home ....
I am so sorry for you both. It is a very very tough road you are on. Find humor where you can and roll with changes. When it's over, the strength & compassion you will have gained will make you a better human. It is a vile, ugly disease and my heart goes out to you.

Steve win wood is ridiculous. He was 22 at Woodstock and if you watch him sing he sounded like he was 41 😳 what a voice!!! What a talent!!! Oh and he plays like 25 instruments 😳
Oh Lawd, this makes me love him even more. I grew up in the Roll With It times and he was… 😍. I’ll have to look up Woodstock.
You are half right. He did play at Woodstock.... not the original.... but at Woodstock "94" ...at which time he was 46. He was 21 when the original Woodstock festival took place and he was 59 in the above video.
Watch the Hyde Park live version Blind faith Clapton,Winwood, baker & Grecko that was awesome!
Yeah !! And he was Only 15 Years Old while part of the Spencer Davis Group ! Talk about sounding like... I'm a Man !! Wow.. Hard to believe
jhay2004 Hey bro WHEN YOU SAY WOODSTOCK everybody thinks WOODSTOCK August 15-18 1969!!!!!That was the only Woodstock.🕊️
'70 now. This music is so special. Never gets old, no matter the mood.
We all know how great Steve is on piano and organ but his guitar work here with Clapton is exquisite. Two of our finest musicians with a kick ass bunch of people on stage with them. Just doesn’t get any better!
Nuff said
💯
👍😎 Love how Derric Trucks takes a step back and watches Clapton & Winwood. Let the legends shine, I’m just happy to be here.
Even though I think he might be the best player on the stage.
And not get fired if I upstage them...:)
@@michaelgapple1894 - Best slide player, yes, but best overall guitarist? Not in the same area code with EC.
I Love how he squeezes in a quick little shake at around 2:24 and then smiles at Doyle like , " I got one in " 😎😎😎😎😎
Derek is a very humble man
we never see talented musicians like this ever again. musicians from this Era of music are once in a lifetime 👏👍😊
100% agree. What a talent and what a great song. "Can't find my way home". Reminds me of today with people running away from their governments. Song of 1969 jumps right into 2022.

music is now mediocracy at best or more sinister the smelting of the human soul into computer product of the bearucrats with no taste controlling artists if they are with no ambition but the dollar. as for me they would be bancrupt for i wouldn't give them a red cent.
As much as I hate to admit this, I guess I never really realized just how talented Winwood is. Grew up hearing his stuff...it just wasn't my "cup of tea" at the time. Hearing his voice is like meeting an old friend in some ways. This rendition of this song is fantastic.
It's just that they all compliment each other so well! And the message hits home to so many people! I think we all find ourselves there, or maybe only some of us admit it! I'm glad I found my way back!
