    4K subs, my friend. Congratulations. Too many good choices for those of us who might have one plated trainer, at most, for the whole year. David from DOR just did a comparison between the Wave Rebellion Flash 2 and the Boston 12 and had glowing praise for the Mizuno.

    The Boston 12 really broke my heart but it's because I have an odd-shaped right heel. I really loved that shoe but there was a slight bit of slippage on my right heel and I got a mild injury after three runs.
    I might give the SC Trainer v2 a try.

      the lockdown of the sc trainer has been much better for me than the boston 12

  • @mtimbroims

    I’m actually deciding between both shoes and the upper on the Boston is absolutely ludicrous compared to the SC Trainer ! Also, you have to work hard to get a good lockdown on the Adidas.

    Would like to see how the Deviate Nitro compares to both of these. My guess it would fall into the middle of these shoes. Less cush than SC v2 and less firm and snappy than Boston 12?

      The Deviate Nitro 2 might feel less snappy because of its relaxed geometry but you're probably right about the firmness. There is no break-in period on that shoe, either.

    Thanks for another good video with some great info. I have a question about SC Trainer sizing. I was an 11 in the V1 and Rebel v3 - 1080v13 and Propelv4 I’m a 10.5. In another brand that you are familiar with, I’m an 11 in the Saucony Speed 3. I want to bite on the current deal but no shop in my town has the Sc Trainer in stock. What’s your best guess?

    • @supwell

    I watched your Puma Velocity video. Sure wish Puma would release Deviate in a Wide again!
    It seems Puma has taken on Nikes old lasts. Pegasus 39,40 are relatively anatomical having straight medial forefoot and a generous lateral flare.
    Puma seems to taper the forefoot on both sides making it an arrow as you suggested.
    Ive never been a Nike guy always a Brooks the Ghost though got way too high with drop...if Pegasus is a 10mm drop Brooks is a 15mm drop(perceived&felt on run)but if someone has the ability to change their lasts its Nike.

    • @supwell

      yeah the new pumas are quite narrow. brooks is tight too (hyperion max was a little squeeze for me) but new balance has done a good job recently making wider toe boxes and more roomier uppers like in the 1080v13, rebelv3 and here in the sc trainer. i'm super curious to see how the new 880v14 compares to the peg, velocity nitro 3 etc as a simple daily trainer

    How about fit? I have SC v2 in a 10.5 wide but never wore adidas. Anyone know about sizing for the Boston 12 I can maybe try? Is it true, or half size up for wide? Thanks!

      i have both of these shoes in 10.5 (not wide) which is my normal size and they are both comfortable for me. i would go true to size. for my full thoughts on fit comparing toe box etc check out 10:12 in this video

    does the newer Adidas still have the rods snapping / breaking???

    • @supwell

      I haven't had that issue in the Boston 12 and it's at 250+ miles. I also have the Takumi Sen at 100+ miles (but some pretty tough miles nearly all at 10k pace or faster with a half marathon race in there) and no issues with rods breaking in that either. I've seen some other runners take the Boston 400+ and haven't reported that issue

    How do the Trainer V2s compare to the Elite V3s which can be had on discount for roughly same price?

    • @supwell

      They have a similar use case - both are super comfortable for plated shoes. But sc trainer v2 is a little more relaxed while the elite is a bit better for faster running. Neither are great for top-end speed but if you are choosing between the two for a speedy plated shoe I'd go with the elite. And trainer if you want something for comfortable long miles

    Are the Boston 12's a unisex fit, or do they differ between men's and Woman's sizes?

      they have different mens and womens sizing. i believe they are made on a different last, so the women's is a bit narrower

    If you’re just looking to complete your first marathon in around 3.30 or so and not interested in a super shoe, would the SC Trainer be at the top of the list? I.e both comfortable and somewhat propulsive. Any others to consider? Cheers!

    • @supwell

      Yes it would be a great shoe for running a marathon. I went 22 miles in it the other day at a relaxed pace which ended up being about 2:50 and it was still super comfortable at the end

    • @supwell

      yes i use regular width. i'm not sure if the sc trainer wide version has a wider last or just more room on the upper but i've heard positive things about it. i doubt any of the local stores will have it in person to try on so i would suggest ordering from running warehouse (they have a 90 day new or used return policy)

    • @CriticalThinker02

      And to be honest, I might just not be a fast enough runner for these. I bought them thinking I could use them as daily trainers and also for my first marathon in May, but not so sure about that now.

    • @supwell

      Mine started to feel good at around 50 to 70 miles. I only like them for days when I'm running fast though. I wouldn't use them as a daily trainer - I much prefer the SC Trainer v2 for more relaxed paces. Unless you're doing workouts (whatever fast running is for you, regardless of pace) they're probably not going to feel great

    • @CriticalThinker02

      @@supwell Thanks, after watching your comparison of the two it became more clear to me why these aren’t really great for me. My average pace is around 9/mi. Would you say the SC 2’s would work for someone like me training for a marathon (and also something I could run the marathon in)? I’m just trying to finish, not make a certain time.

    • @supwell
