I see an old guy time and time again win with regular shoes vs some young guys in top of the line nike and adidas shoes. No doudt the shoes help but it is up to the runner to be fit enough to do 98-99% of the difference.

Agree...technology alone cannot defeat talent and experience. However, where there is an almost equal playing field amongst athletes, where comparative times are within 1-3% of one another, technology in shoes like the Asics Meta Speed, Nike AlphaFly and the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro can be the difference!
