@@Freedomfabrication777 that's great though! Learning new things is a fun feeling, well at least for me anyways. Something to be aware of but I'm sure you already know too.. be careful to not double bend or in other words miss where you broke last. Can always back bend if needed too if it gets over bent.
@@hubertrobinson8825 Having the right tool makes a huge difference. I’m excited for you. It puts your fabrication abilities at another level. Thanks for watching!
What alloy are you bending? 5052? Look into urethane die film. It will protect the finish of the aluminum while bending and you won’t get any marks on it.
If you ever have to press/brake bisalloy or AR grade plate grain direction is very important. If you brake it against the grain it can explode in the press.
@@Keithskane I didn’t even think you could bend AR plate. I know the same goes if you try to punch it in the iron worker. I’ve watched a guy blow up a punch before. Scary stuff. Thanks for watching!
@@Freedomfabrication777 Yeah it can be pressed but is a bump press application resulting in a radius not a sharp corner. I work alot with it here in Australia fabricating mining equipment, vibration feeders and large wear components

@@RHarris42 Good info. I am a master of the back bend, Lol. It’s a valued skill when all you have operated is a manual press brake.
