You described this algorithm driven commercial platform perfectly. Funny that you mentioned by name the short list of channels I watch regularly. The content including yours is honest and sincere and that’s what I like about it. Real guys doing real things. You do what’s right for you. I’ll keep watching until you tell me not to. 😎
Now I watched it to the end-don't get disheartened! Content is important, I understand the frustration! Meltin Metal and I C are fantastic channels because neither one cares if we like their content or not-they just post honest work for normal guys. The guys who take their craft seriously come home and watch how other guys who do the same thing get it done.
Dude. I couldn’t agree with the rant more. It is a shame that TH-cam fabrication channels are flooded with a sales pitch. I review some ArcCaptain machines as what it is- “an entry level machine”. I use the machines to do practical work. What better way to test a machine. My Channel is a Fabrication channel, not a sales channel or a review channel. As far as the algorithm thing, it’s funny that you say you are thinking about quitting TH-cam. I have considered it many times. I don’t understand how actual fabrication channels aren’t thriving, but garage review channels are booming. I’ve come to where I kinda just think maybe more people wanna see that stuff, and there is a lot less people that want to watch actual Fabrication than I thought. I understand your frustration. I guess if you enjoy making videos keep doing it. If not, it may be time to hang it up. For the record, I’ve always enjoyed watching your channel. Keep up the good work.
Always enjoyed your content… on a different note as far as the auction wins I absolutely love it. That’s been my “side gig” for the last couple years and it’s always crazy when I see these old welders that’s are beast and still plenty of life left go unnoticed. Glad you rescued an old sae and she can continue on meltin metal together.
Na your content doesn't suck. I'd say many people enjoy your content as I do and you show a unique side of the welding industry which is doing it on the side. It's been inspiring since it's something I'd like to branch into as well. Thank you for the videos and advice and I hope to see more. Also from NJ.
Bro us real welders are usually going for videos like this. People that have sponsor ships have dumbass review videos that we don’t care about. Don’t stop the hustle keep up with the good work and don’t stop making content!
I have a '63 gas SA -200 and I love the sound of her when she awhoo's! Got her for $1200 ten years ago and she still runs like a champ! Good for you bro! Hope you have great success in the business and keep arcing up!
I myself, like many others, enjoy your content. I hope more work comes your way! Keep doing what you're doing... persistence! Oh, and, hell of a score on that sae 250! Congrats. With that said, how about a refurb series on that? I myself enjoy videos like that. Shout out to Salvage workshop, he is great at doing those. I'm sure you've heard or seen his videos. If not, you should check him out. He finds killer deals as well. I understand your frustrations as well, but that is just a losing battle that'll always be there in this current world we live in. Just stay positive, which it seems like you're doing. Prime welds loss on their end. Like CB says.... Learn to work with what you got and you'll always have what you need.
Please don't get discouraged by the other BS put out there by other creators. Your content is genuine and entertaining to watch! I always look forward to seeing new content from your channel! Thanks for all the great videos!
Keep doing your thing Matt. Social media is indeed a cesspool and there’s a divide between what goes viral and what’s true to the craft. Your videos are awesome, the first welding video I remember watching was you fixing the Mason body on the 1 ton. Stay true to yourself homie, you are right up there with MMA and IC on my feed as guys I look up to and want the best for 🤝 also what an absolute robbery on the SA-250
my advice from one 'side gig' guy to another-keep that feeder.I ran stick off a Lincoln 250GXT for about 6 years, slow and steady. In February I got a really cherry Pipepro400 Mitsubishi super low hour unit,it runs wire off my LN25x every bit as good as my Lincoln 350MP at my home shop.Cut my welding time by at least 30 percent, with better results. You should try yours off your 305-
@@mcfwelding just a tip to help get started if you haven’t used it much.. one way I like to think of it if you leave everything on constant current set your amps like you would for a stick electrode for whatever you’re welding then adjust wire speed to fit
I had every machine you showed in this video except a Blue star since that would always been way too small and under my needs while welding in the pipeline business. That 305D on your truck brings back some not so good memories since I bought it new and instantly regretted the noise it made along with a few other defects in the engineering….one main one being the radiator mounts tearing off from the vibration and causing the need for radiator replacement. I’ve had many engine driven welders before, and after that purchase and still remember that welder as being the mistake buy.
Nice find on the 250. We have a Big50 with the same Continental diesel got from an old farmer that was parked in his barn with less than 500 hrs on it $1000. Seems to be a good engine so far. Have lucked out at auctions before too. The voltage sensing wire feeder is an invaluable tool. We have a couple different miller ones that are great for on site or in the shop. Will weld dual shield as heavy as you want to go, 100% duty cycle at 500amps. You could make the money you’re asking for it back in a day or two easy on the right job. I like the guys you mentioned Freedom fab NBS and OFW. MMA not my fave. Surprised primeweld hasn’t hit you up as much as you’ve talked about them and wasn’t the give away you did one of theirs? Have seen some of their machines on marketplace may have to try them. Anyway good luck with your equipment and videos man nice to see you still kicking.
Just found this video on my discovery, new sub and rang the bell. I love auctions sites and have been hunting me an engine driven welder. Problem is out here in Idaho everyone loves auctions haha I find market place is a timing thing. Gotta be able to go get it in 20 mins or the deals gone
Nice find. I hope to find me a Diesel welding machine myself to not only use as a welder but back up genny during outages. Of course when I find one, I probably wont have the cash.
Your camera overheated because your hot take was on fire. indeed there are too many dang chinese igtb welder review.. Hope you can keep the videos coming when you have something interesting! the problem with the algo is that you have to keep producing...
Youre doing very good im a welder myself and i always be looking for the videos of the guys you mention and yourself too last yr i got 150 ft of 2.0 welding cable and an old miller 250 amp stick welder for 500 dollars i was more wanting cables they came as a package i really only use the welder 2 time when i tried it out off my ranger 10,000 plus i would sell for cheap i reall have no use for it
Would keep that LN25 and use it to run fluxcore wire like Hobart 21b in .035 and .045. This is what use the suitcase for, changed the tips to Bernard Q and fluxcore nozzle. Bernard makes adapters for most guns.
I don't think prime weld reaches out just due to the fact you don't put out enough content or have the following like some of the others. I'm not hating at all, I love watching you stuff on TH-cam when you post. Just do/be you and good things will come, you know that. Cheer 🍻 brotha. Weld on 🍻
I agree with your take on "welding influencers", keep up the great content. Also, where are you getting the sheetmetal for your sa200? I need a new roof for my lincoln but not willing to spend the money on an oem part
There's a company called Lincoln love. He makes all new body parts for the SA series. just Google Lincoln love and it should pop up. His prices are not bad from what I've seen

That Lincoln is used for engine welders but a lot of big welders need them to so it’s good to have and I’m very surprised he’s gunna sell it if he doesn’t have one already because it’s great to have and you will never need to try and run some other welder of a generator or anything like that , I really think you should keep that
@@mcfwelding it will be worth it one day when you wanna run some flux core or mig off that rig of yours just nice to have so hope you do they are so expensive to buy
They have volt meters lil square that same size on Amazon I use for car audio I bet u can replace it it just two wires positive negative pop it out from front and wire in new one east
That’s not true hard to find yes but not impossible the continental diesel is hard to get parts for . injection pumps are problematic but the generator side it’s basically a 300d so there’s parts out there
For me, I have my couple of small quality welding machines, oxy-acetylene rig and a cheap plasma. Not really going to run out and buy more equipment. Welding is just part of general maintenance for me. The videos where guys are building and repairing are what draw my interest. But that probably doesn’t bring in the corporate sponsorship as much as selling the machine.
