Who would have thought that the system would register the remote starter as a key with its own unique keycode? That's awesome because that means its impossible to register as a MyKey, and thus it is always considered an admin key by the system. Brilliant! It worked with my focus. Luckily I got 2 keys and I figured it out that the key that was used to create the my key is actually the one you couldn't reset the MY KEY settings coz it wont appear in the settings menu if You use that same key to set it up. I used the other key and the My Key in the settings menu appeared. I was so annoyed and almost traded my car. Thanks for the video.

I did the same thing, but I still can't get it to work in my 2012 F150. It says I have 2 admin keys set to mykey. Did you happen to do anything different than what is shown in this video? Man, I won't ever mess with this setting again, geeze
Omg! This has been driving me crazy! I bought a Navigator a few weeks ago with an aftermarket remote start. Initially, I thought the problems I was having (volume maxed at 40?! and kill switch not deactivating unless I unlocked with fob with key in ignition) was a wiring issue, until I read the manual, but soon realized I don't have the 'ADMIN' key to reprogram the MyKey settings. I have a 2018 with remote start, however whe I do this the screen continues to say put key inside to drive. I cannot leave that screen, anyone have a suggestion, btw I only have one key, and my truck is Not Push button start

This must only work with the add on ford remote start. If you do this with a newer ford with factory start built into the one fob you are not able to access any menu systems to turn off mykey.

A nice looking car with good power ruined by terrible software and excessive electronics. Sorry I hope you have better luck than I did. I know lots of other ppl still love their fusion.
Thanks it worked after trying everything in the owners manual. I have a 2011 mustang with remote start and two sets of keys and neither were recognized as admin keys. Followed you directions and was able to reset and clear the mykey. Great video.
is there a way to do this without a remote start? My other admin key is in another state. I created MyKey driving and was so upset when I realized what happened. My Escape doesn't have a remote start or a push button start.

That isnt a "stock"remote starter. This as an aftermarket pursuit/prestige that was installed AT the dealer prior to you buying the car. This is not the same as an OEM/stock remote start that is built into the car during assembly
Because your parents set limits and rules for you. Fact is, you can’t fix it without the dealership or an admin key. This little glitch in MyKey was fixed in 2014 and later software versions for older cars

Just go to any little store that makes keys and that will work. I got mine done for $50 and it worked..
