It’s the age of micro transitions. Greed is disgusting. It’s just another way for Ford to charge $350 to make a new AdminKey for people who buy the cars used. The used dealers will typically NOT have the AdminKey. The AdminKey gets lost somewhere in the passing off the car process.

I've been driving at max speed of 80mph since like 2018.. Nothing ever seemed to work except this. I absolutely love you. I am excited to actually listen to music above 50% volume again. @@rankintimmons7995 if you mean the setting, its MyKey and its typically for teenage drivers/new drivers. It helps limit your speed and what not. Supposed to help foster a safe driving enviroment.
OMG! YOU ARE AWESOME!! Ford house said I had to purchase a key and have it programmed to admin key. $195.50 for the key, $89 for programming! That's $300 with tax! I paid $20.06 for the scanner, $0 for the program and BOOM - FIXED!!!!!!!! The radio didn't even mess up, so awesome. I just fixed my daughter’s 2014 Ford Escape. Didn’t have admin key and she couldn’t turn up music or go over 80 mph. Ordered an OBD II for $16.90 on amazon and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
I just got a used escape and I also accidentally enabled the my key setting by accident without knowing what I was doing. Called the dealership and they told me they didn’t have the second admin key to give me so I was contemplating buying a new key and getting it programmed by a locksmith, so glad I found this video it worked and helped clear my my key tysm!
Thank you thank you thank you. My experience was a little different. I bought OBD II off Amazon from your link. But the driver link you have is invalid so I googled OBD II driver and downloaded a link from there. Then ai downloaded your focus link and it worked. I had to open driver program and through settings choose serial port connection rather than Bluetooth ect... Then I opened focus program and tried to read BCM but I kept getting an error. I simply closed the program and started it up again and everything else from there worked exactly as you said in the video. Man I am so excited thank you.
drivers worked fine for me - i just had to extract them to a folder, go in to device manager and update the USB device driver and pointed it to the folder. worked just fine.

This def works…got errors a few time but kept trying. The doors were closed then I tried with the door open n it worked fine. Check engine light was on after but I know how to get that off so wasn’t a prob. Thanks man 👏🏾

Works Great! Thanks for the video! Got rid off that stupid MyKey function on my Ford Focus 2014. Did get the Engine check light on but I managed to clear that using Forscan. You start Forscan, click on "Connect to Vehicle" on the bottom left and in my case I got a bunch of errors. Once it finished scanning on the bottom left you will see 2 caution icons, click on the one that says "Reset", turn ignition OFF then ON and that should be it. You can now turn on your car and you will no longer see the Check Engine Light on.

To anyone watching this in 2024, this actually works on my 2014 Ford Escape and only cost me like $35 for the OBD2 reader. Yes, I am a real person and I only used it to disable the volume limit, but everything went according to the plan in the video. If you are having trouble with the "error loading to VBF" or whatever the error says, try writing to BCM without having the ignition on; it worked for me.
First of all, big thanks to the creator of this video. As for many others here, you saved me 300 bucks. Real thanks. Tried it on a Ford Escape 2014, at January 19th - 23. 1 - I did the procedure without inserting the key on the ignition, nor turning the car on. 2 - Inserted the OBD reader and hit "read BCM". It gave a few errors, before actually reading it. I believe it really read after 5th trial. 3 - Changed the MyKey setting as shown on the video. 4 - Hit "write BCM". Same thing, only worked without errors after 4th or 5th trial. 5 - Unplugged ODB from the car, than inserted the key in. Rotated it and no engine errors. MyKey was disabled. 6 - Had the clock issue, so removed battery cables for 15 min and plugged it back. Clock worked fine again. Thanks once again for the video author.
I used it during Uber. I disabled all the limits, but having the feature on let me both track miles, and it makes it so the front seat passenger has to buckle up, or the stereo mutes itself and says "buckle up to unmute"

2014 Ford Fiesta- I had this same issue with my car. Mykey setting turned on with no admin key so I couldn’t turn it off. It only give me the “mykey information”. I watched this video and read the comments. One guy mentioned getting ANOTHER key programmed. (I only had one key) So I did that and it worked. I explained to the guy at the key place my issue. He told me if it doesn’t work I don’t have to pay for the key. So I didn’t have anything to lose but time. The key was $86. I put the new key in the ignition went right to the settings and turned off Mykey immediately. Now, if you have two keys and neither one is working try leaving one in the house away from the ignition so the sensor can only pick up one key- I read that online somewhere. Try doing it with both keys. I hope this helps someone. Oh and I ordered the device from the link but returned to amazon once the key worked.
When you got the new key did you have to prgram it to the car, and can you get yhe key from anywhere and just put it in the car and turn my key setting off

Also you do not have to hear weird engine fault signs if you do exactly everything but DO NOT TURN ENGINE ON just leave the key in and it will work.😄 So far so good.

at first i was having some issues connecting the port to the car but after some research i found out that there are driver installs on the forscan website that the reader mentions, after i downloaded the driver the app he uses to read the bcm automatically detected the machine, finally! and i was able to follow along there after and for it to work. hope this helps somewhat!
It WORKED. Download the driver if your port isn’t working. Open the installer wizard and enable the driver, then just close out of it all and re - open foccus. Worked great, no CEL.
There were some local sketchy facebook posts claiming they could do it for $100. In my particular case I was able to track down an admin key from my office (this is a fleet vehicle).
Nice, this method has a wired connector obd scanner that’s a quarter of the price of the other vids I’ve watched. Going to order this and remove these dumb limitations on my 2012 fusion sport I just got. Can use the money I saved from having to get a new programmed key from the stealership and fix the tint and maybe get new speakers. I’ll update when it arrives and if it worked for me.

Bought my 2015 Ford Focus SE used but I only received 1 key and of course it's not the admin key. I bought the OBD2 adapter and downloaded FoCCCus. when i click Read from BCM I get the following message...Can't enter security into ECU. Help!!!
I did this. Had issues reading the BCM had to restart the computer several times to get it to work. Then I would not write to the bcm. Turned the key off as another commenter said and it write to the bcm. It work, had to do the clock trick with disconnecting the battery. Now I have an engine light with codeP2610 (ECM/PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance. The code will not clear.
I got the obd reader and have it connected to my laptop, i open the link for the Foccus program and im able to download it, but when I try to open the program, it gives me a system error and says: “The code execution cannot proceed because Qt5Core.dll was not founf.” Does anybody know anything about this?

To the people struggling, you need to download the driver for the OB2 connector. It comes in the package when you get it! This worked great for me. I have a 2012 Ford Focus. I turned off the seat belt beep as well.
Thank you for the video. Your trick got rid of the MyKey problem. However, now my engine light stays on even after the oil reset (brake and gas all the way down with key forward and engine off) and remote start now only controls the locks
So it thankfully worked for me. Even with my MacBook. Just had to download an extra program. Thank you so much! But even when the MyKey went away the other engine things were still on. But restarted my car and everything went away. So my question is did I destroy my car on the low? I’m not good with vehicles. I also waited till the next morning the clock unfroze on its on!
Hey there and great video! Doing research on this for a video for our channel as well, and I'd love to give you a shoutout for this! So if we use FOCCUS to disable the MyKey, you mentioned that if we wanted to use it again, we would need a new key.... are you saying that a completely new cut and programmed key would be needed because the original key would be disabled forever? Or is it that the car just wouldn't provide the option to configure MyKey for the existing key anymore? Just trying to understand ramifications of using FOCCUS. Are there any other risks associated with this? Thanks a ton and again, great video!
READ IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES FULLY DISABLING MYKEY: When you are disabling the MyKey, if you're running into the issue that you're only able to disable the MyKey alerts and chimes but are still limited to 80mph and 14 volume, simply do a full reset on the PCM with the ForScan app. I spent hours trying to figure this out and finally just decided to reset the PCM and it took all about 40 seconds and my friends car was back to normal. No chimes, no 80mph speed limit, no 14 volume limit, nothing. Back to how it should be. Hope this helps someone.
Instead of fighting with drivers and no support whatsoever just go to a local locksmith and they'll do it in 10 minutes and give you a spare key for less than $100...much less hassle...I spent weeks trying these things, nothing worked...locksmith was in and out in 10 mins
Great video! I ran into a couple of issues which consisted on: 1. Engine light would not turn off. I solved this using ForScan and restarting everything 2. My RPM bar stopped at 1k. I have not figure how to fix that.

Usually means the actual sensor is dead.. They are kinda cheap to replace just a matter of the labor for someone to do.. There is a sensor in the tire that sends the signal to the car to broadcast when your tire is low/flat etc. Its not a major worry as you can usually feel when your tire has popped/going flat.. But youll need to manually check tire pressure if you are wondering if they are low/needing air.
I have OBDII that works with Forscan app but didn't work with this app so I'm wondering if I have to buy the one attached with this video to get connected to the computer
I plan on discovering a way to do this via our phones as most people are having issues with newer models of Ford Vehicles. I believed this worked with any ford, but a lot of people are having issues with this model as well as Amazon removing sellers from selling OBD readers which work.
Hi there, i actually took it to the dealer and they taped a key to my existing key and made a "mock" master key and reset it for me. They did it for free since they did not have to cut the key to do it.
Question if you don’t have that what is my next option because it’s telling me I have one of the keys but it’s saying there is 3 admin keys.. now I did not buy the car from the ford store it was bought from a dealership
Health issues. Struggling for cash. Bought an 2012 escape for $700. Was in a field with goats actually walking on the roof. Cleaned it up and the limited 4 xyl. With 90k runs like a top! Not knowing about mykey, i playeed with the buttons and actiavated mykey- of course, the car came with only one key. Sucks. Really sucks...
Did not work with my 2013 cmax. It uploads and changes the number of keys but does not change the mykey. Still pops up and says mykey active, limited 80mph, limited volume.
Got the elm you linked but when I plug it into my computer and everything and try to hit “read from bcm” the program keeps spitting out “can’t connect to ECU. Switch ELM to HS-CAN” even though it is on hs

You start Forscan, click on "Connect to Vehicle" on the bottom left and in my case I got a bunch of errors. I was having errors reading the the bcm. I got them to read then had issues writing to bcm. Turned off the ignition and it wrote to the bcm.
The my key thing is so stupid like who actually uses this. Probably a weird ass parent driving there 16 year old insane....

Nice, this method has a wired connector obd scanner that’s a quarter of the price of the other vids I’ve watched. Going to order this and remove these dumb limitations on my 2012 fusion sport I just got. Can use the money I saved from having to get a new programmed key from the stealership and fix the tint and maybe get new speakers. I’ll update when it arrives and if it worked for me.

Mine says could not get address from ECU after clicking read from BCM
Bought my 2015 Ford Focus SE used but I only received 1 key and of course it's not the admin key. I bought the OBD2 adapter and downloaded FoCCCus. when i click Read from BCM I get the following message...Can't enter security into ECU. Help!!!
I did this. Had issues reading the BCM had to restart the computer several times to get it to work. Then I would not write to the bcm. Turned the key off as another commenter said and it write to the bcm. It work, had to do the clock trick with disconnecting the battery. Now I have an engine light with codeP2610 (ECM/PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance. The code will not clear.
Just done this today and eventually it worked, took 5 or 6 attempts due to ECM init code. Just keep trying it will eventually work
I got the obd reader and have it connected to my laptop, i open the link for the Foccus program and im able to download it, but when I try to open the program, it gives me a system error and says: “The code execution cannot proceed because Qt5Core.dll was not founf.” Does anybody know anything about this?
@@jorgequintana3617 not sure about that code however just unplug everything and try again, this took me a while to get it to work but it does work eventually.

To the people struggling, you need to download the driver for the OB2 connector. It comes in the package when you get it! This worked great for me. I have a 2012 Ford Focus. I turned off the seat belt beep as well.
Is the “driver”the focccus app in his description?

Thank you for the video. Your trick got rid of the MyKey problem. However, now my engine light stays on even after the oil reset (brake and gas all the way down with key forward and engine off) and remote start now only controls the locks
So it thankfully worked for me. Even with my MacBook. Just had to download an extra program. Thank you so much! But even when the MyKey went away the other engine things were still on. But restarted my car and everything went away. So my question is did I destroy my car on the low? I’m not good with vehicles. I also waited till the next morning the clock unfroze on its on!

Hey there and great video! Doing research on this for a video for our channel as well, and I'd love to give you a shoutout for this! So if we use FOCCUS to disable the MyKey, you mentioned that if we wanted to use it again, we would need a new key.... are you saying that a completely new cut and programmed key would be needed because the original key would be disabled forever? Or is it that the car just wouldn't provide the option to configure MyKey for the existing key anymore? Just trying to understand ramifications of using FOCCUS. Are there any other risks associated with this? Thanks a ton and again, great video!
Ik im late here. But ford wont allow you to program a mykey without having 2 keys.

READ IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES FULLY DISABLING MYKEY: When you are disabling the MyKey, if you're running into the issue that you're only able to disable the MyKey alerts and chimes but are still limited to 80mph and 14 volume, simply do a full reset on the PCM with the ForScan app. I spent hours trying to figure this out and finally just decided to reset the PCM and it took all about 40 seconds and my friends car was back to normal. No chimes, no 80mph speed limit, no 14 volume limit, nothing. Back to how it should be. Hope this helps someone.

My FoCCUS app is only giving me the "Offline Mode" so I am unable to pull the information from y car. Any ideas?
Instead of fighting with drivers and no support whatsoever just go to a local locksmith and they'll do it in 10 minutes and give you a spare key for less than $100...much less hassle...I spent weeks trying these things, nothing worked...locksmith was in and out in 10 mins

Great video! I ran into a couple of issues which consisted on:
1. Engine light would not turn off. I solved this using ForScan and restarting everything
2. My RPM bar stopped at 1k. I have not figure how to fix that.

Do you have any idea why “Tire sensor fault” is showing on my dashboard?
Usually means the actual sensor is dead.. They are kinda cheap to replace just a matter of the labor for someone to do.. There is a sensor in the tire that sends the signal to the car to broadcast when your tire is low/flat etc. Its not a major worry as you can usually feel when your tire has popped/going flat.. But youll need to manually check tire pressure if you are wondering if they are low/needing air.

I plan on discovering a way to do this via our phones as most people are having issues with newer models of Ford Vehicles. I believed this worked with any ford, but a lot of people are having issues with this model as well as Amazon removing sellers from selling OBD readers which work.

Hi there, i actually took it to the dealer and they taped a key to my existing key and made a "mock" master key and reset it for me. They did it for free since they did not have to cut the key to do it.

Health issues. Struggling for cash. Bought an 2012 escape for $700. Was in a field with goats actually walking on the roof. Cleaned it up and the limited 4 xyl. With 90k runs like a top! Not knowing about mykey, i playeed with the buttons and actiavated mykey- of course, the car came with only one key. Sucks. Really sucks...

Did not work with my 2013 cmax. It uploads and changes the number of keys but does not change the mykey. Still pops up and says mykey active, limited 80mph, limited volume.

Most likely will if you follow the steps and if it gives an error keep trying. Gave me an error and I kept redoing it until it worked
