One weak point (relative to KTM) of the Sherco is the stock clutch. This can be resolved with a Rekluse Core Manual rebuild. The Sherco motor is better for super technical riding, especially for low end power and holding pressure/traction. KYB suspension is also better out of the box on the Sherco. But keeping a carb jetted in varying conditions is a bit of work. A Sherco 300 Factory, with Smart Carb and a Rekluse Core Manual Clutch is an awesome set up, but you are taking an already expensive bike, and then adding about $1500 more in aftermarket parts.
I am a carburator fan on 2stroke bikes, you can feel diference when tunning the bike, i think the tpi system needs more fine tuning in the position the injector is, keep up the good work💪💪👍👍
Fully agree. The snowmobiles in that world, and Yamaha's new shown engine of 2024 300cc 2 stroke with fuel and oil injection and electric start will have the fuel injector in front of the reed cage, not in the transfer ports like KTM (a dumb idea).
Hi sister! 👋 Looks like a pleasant and competent mechanic and person. KTM has a 2 map system. The connector to connect / disconnect is under the fuel tank on the left side of the frame. Full power is MAP 1 with the single wire white connector connected. MAP 2 is with the connector disconnected. KTM sells a right side handlbar switch thumb operated to be installed that goes in series with the connector. MAP 1 is full power and MAP 2 retards the timing for a softer power delivery. No need to remove the fuel tank to access the connector if the switch is installed. MY KTM 300 TPI blew the engine completely at 7 hours of trail riding.
@@human1513 That sucks. I remembered back home in the Philippines when Toyota first introduced the D4D engines in their several line up. Whenever we encounter major problems in the engine like no start, black smoke, low power, stalling and the likes. this is a good video. i'm riding a 2000 Honda CR250R as a hard enduro bike. Ive done some motor mods to make it more low end friendly and a bash plate and pipe guard, along with different gearing. i'd love a modern electric start enduro bike though like the Sherco though

2022 electric start is much better than older models. Power delivery on the rieju is a lot more in your face than the sherco also. Backup kicker is also a huge bonus. I’ve had to bump start my sherco in a race and wasn’t happy about it at all

Good video but... 1) you said that TPI has less low end throttle power delivery than carbs. I would agree that TPI is much "smoother" off throttle therefor feels less abrupt power wise off low end. 2) but you then said TPI is harder in hard enduro technical situations because its power delivery is too harsh. But this contradicts your first statement. TPI bikes are coined "goats" because they simply tractor up things with ease and smoothness of their power delivery. Carb bikes dont have those same smooth power characteristics. 3) You said there was nothing to indicate the oil pump was not functioning but I was to understand the ECU has an oil pump error code for signal too high and too low. Which was to tell the operator if the oil pump was functioning. I'll have to check into that...
tpi has lower torque in low rpm and than the hit in mid range is noticably more agressive than on carb... so he was exactly right... no tpi has same or better low rpm grunt than correctly jetted carb... you sound like somebody who has TPI and have not tried different bike
