I honestly don't know about putting the additional CDI on a 2020, sorry. We'll get more content coming. Anything other than that, that you want to see on these bikes? -Charles
So the piston, wiseco, it's 71.998mm but the sherco pistons are 71.95/96 a/b. Is it fine to run bigger piston? If so then should we have different gap on rings?
I have a 22 model 300 SE. I pickled it from the dealer and when i got it home noticed it was leaking coolant from the head. Took it back and they checked the bolt torque which made no difference. The o-rings were checked for any pinches which there wasn’t. They sorted the issue out by using a form of liquid gasket in conjunction with the o-ring’s. Would this be considered acceptable practice to used sealant on the head? You didn’t in your rebuild. So I’m concerned that this “fix” may have just masked a bigger issue which I’ll encounter when i do my first rebuild. Thoughts?
It should seal without anything on there. Everyone does things a little different though. Did they check to make sure the head and cylinder sealing surfaces are perfectly flat? I think you are on the right track. I would call the next closest Sherco dealer and get their thoughts and see if they can help you. -Charles
You didn't indicate if a A or B piston was used as a replacement and when they should be used. Does Sherco stamp the cylinder head with the piston size?
It's not stamped on the cylinder, you will need to measure the bore of your cylinder and get the corresponding piston kit. Generally, the A piston will be for bikes that don't have many hours/first rebuild. B piston will be 0.01mm larger for a cylinder that has some wear. C piston will be 0.01mm larger than B and for cylinders with even more wear but still in spec. Hope that helps!
Yes, there is a cable adjustment procedure outlined in the service manual. Looks like there are some free manuals online, it's covered in the engine reinstallation section. -Charles
THAT REALLY SUCKS!!! I may just have to sell the Sherco 250 Se Fe that I bought last week and have not yet picked up yet. I just do not have 6 hrs to waste driving to a dealer (3hr each way) for a simple PV recalibration. You can calibrate most auto throttle bodies without an external computer. Sherco needs to come out with a dongle to do these simple recalibrations or make their system OBD11 compatible. There are not enough dealers close by for many of us. I should have bought a yamaha...
I should have specified that it's the SERVO MOTOR for the power-valve that is recommended to get calibrated. All that means is the computer will know the exact values when the valve is all the way closed and all the way open, so the engine can run it's best. Our bike ran fine before getting it calibrated but we did it anyway to make sure everything is spot-on. -Charles
Finally quality videos about shercos, make videos on how to get that brown spark plug and crisp throttle response as they are super rich from factory.

Great Video! Thanks!
Hi, do you have any video on how to carburete 2t motorcycles???
Great vid. I’m interested what was that trick you were using with the ring spanner to torque the base nuts?
Can you do a Video about the Sherco se 125?

Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.
Are you guys planning on showing a suspension rebuild video?

Hey for the circlip do you put it the same way how you did it for BOTH sides?

We used the Maxima Assembly Lube in this video. You can click the first link in the description to see all the parts and tools used in this video.
@@rmatvmc Thank you very much for the quick reply!
Good to remove the control unit on a 2023 2t 250cc Sherco, would you have to disconnect the battery or would it not be necessary???
It wouldn't be necessary.
What if you if you have a low compression head?

Does the PV have to be calibrated on a 2017 model?

we didnt have to take our head off to take the cylinder off.
Correct but easier to remove head in the bike than on the bench for cleaning.

17:05 - Is this almost compulsory to get a dealer to "calibrate the motor correctly" every time you do a top end?
And what is this calibration?

Any idea on the compression test psi numbers for a 300 ? thanks
