I have a slight hole in my left ear drum since I was 14. I was smacked in the ear by a watch Lol. It’s healed a lot since then, but man. Using this feature today truly made me feel happy. It’s a feeling I can’t explain. Almost like life is new again I can’t begin to understand what it may feel like to actually be deaf.
@ sure, but i live in a region where those updates are banned,so….fck apple,i wanna sue them,so many money in their proficts and now this shite….samsung have all the features for all the regions, without banning them
I’ve used the hearing aid feature and it’s pretty good. If it could get just a little louder it would be that much better. I have pretty lousy hearing, and I like the more natural sound of these than my 1500 dollar hearing aids which are louder, but harsher sounding.
You’ve been able to add and use your audiogram for a year or so, before this hearing feature was announced. That’s why I bought them. I guess no one really looked into it until the hearing test feature was announced.
I like your detailed description of the features with the on-screen options. Any chance you might find a way to tap the audio going to the Airpods and do a video that shows what the various features actually sound like. That'd include background sound exclusion on and off and the conversational mode.
I’m curious what would happen when you switch between your iPhone, iPad, Mac etc when wearing the AirPods. Does it stop being a hearing aid when you change focus?
@@jozsefhor I just looked this up, and PROFOUND is described as being unable to hear anything but the sound of a voice (but not understand it) and needing an assist. (hearing aid, reading lips, or sign language etc.)
Is this unsupported on the SE 3 for everyone? I can't get it to show up during setup or in Settings but there's no documentation saying it's incompatible since the SE 3 runs iOS 18
You will need to be on iOS 18.1, which should come out next Monday. Plus, you’ll need to be on the new firmware for AirPods Pro (7B19), which should also be out next week.
The hearing test is ok, not perfect. It definitely mirrors the clinical test I got when I was diagnosed with hearing loss in the left ear, though with minor differences. Should be fine as they say for light to moderate hearing loss, and I did try it out, but I noticed some amplified frequencies it didn't need to amplify.
I'm glad it was good for you, but I was watching this on 1.9x speed and it was essentially just a slightly faster speaking speed. Massively frustrating in my opinion, but I think they slowed it down in consideration of the audience for this video and that's an awesome thing to do. Cheers.
Does it improve the muffled nature of transparency? That's the only thing I don't like about that mode. It sounds amazing but it's slightly muffled. I was hoping this would increase the clarity and volume without sounding artificial.
@@RichardServello I installed the update ran the test and yes, it makes voices so much clearer. Still some internal volume thing, but that can’t be helped. Noise cancellation is an amazing.!
Way better than transparancy mode! No latency and cristal clear voices! And I know what I‘m talking about, I have 6000k Phonaks! There are things I‘d improve but for V1.0 this seriously is impressive!
Got it today 11/19/2024 and I’m very happy about it! Took a test and it really brought back my deficiencies in hi mid frequencies. I’m very happy with results. I could not believe until I try it. ❤❤❤
Thank you for this great video. I got it work fine with one problem. The only way I can get a good seal is to insert the AirPods upside down. But then the control on the stem cannot be used. Calling Apple support was useless. Getting a Genius Bar appointment was equally use as well. I tried a 3rd party set of tips. Still no good. BTW the volume control in the app has no effect. Any ideas?
Look at the shape of the vinyl (?) seal, noticing that it's an oval shape. This fits the human ear canal. When I was working, we were forced to wear ear plugs, and advised to reach over the top of the head and pull up lightly on the top of the ear (right hand to left ear) to make the canal round to fit the plug. With the pre-shaped seal, we (theoretically) don't need to do this. It should fit (theoretically) either way. Your mileage may vary.
I like the reviews about the Airpods 2 pro and would like to buy it as hearing aid. But I have no apple equipment. What is the cheapest solution I must buy to do the hearing test (I have already a Samsung S24 and S21 - so I don't really like to buy a new mobile

What firmware are they running? Plug your AirPods to power near your iPhone and let them sit they will update after a while if on older firmware. Need to be on newer firmware most likely.
@ I can’t see a firmware no? In settings it shows me the; Model Name - AirPods Pro - on the box it says AirPods Pro “2nd Generation” Model No - A3048 Version - 7B19
Sadly at first only available on the US and Canada . But at least now US users will be able to hear the complaints from the rest of the world. Just kidding. They're not listening anyway!
It's very difficult to see where you are in Settings because you quickly flip from one screen to the next with no indication of how you got to each screen. Keep in mind also that beta releases after the one you are using may order screens differently, change descriptors and so on. You need to put yourself in the shoes of viewers.
I had -2 in my left ear and 0 in my right ear. Does this mean that my left ear is slightly better than what’s considered normal? And my right ear is perfectly normal? I wish they would do a little better job explaining what the results actually mean.
The hearing aid feature is really good, however I have an ear infection and I wouldn’t like to clog up AirPods, hopefully this feature comes to the next AirPods Maxes
