I got my hearing aids from the VA audiologist. It’s amazing how much you were missing before using them. For example I can’t hear that my blinker is on without them.
Another big advantage I've found for AirPods Pro over my prescription hearing-aid is how easy it is to put them in and take them out, which I often need to do when I'm using other headphones for monitoring sound. If you choose the correct size tip they slip in easily, fit snugly and stay in your ears without worry or effort. In loud situations the occlusion plus the active noise canceling accomplishes much more than my $6000 Widex hearing aids ever can.
Thanks for this great, honest broadcast. I just ordered Airpods Pro. I do wear Resound hearing aids at times, but they are broken and won't be fixed for a couple weeks. They also cost $7,000. The battery also does not last a full day... so sometimes I need a stop-gap solution. This seems perfect. Thank you, and thanks Apple.
I lost my dog a few years ago, but I put Air Tags on him. We found him immediately, cleat across town! I hope Apple can help you find your hearing too.
I've been using the Airpods Pro2 hearing aid function for a few weeks now, and they are a life changer. Way, way better than the $500 OTC hearing aids I was using. My battery ran low while watching TV a few nights ago. Put them back in the case for about 10 minutes and got an additional two plus hours usage. These things are great.

I have a referral to get into the audiologist, still waiting though. With that said, working in customer service, even in daily casual conversation, I've found simply having my AirPods Pro 2s in transparency mode has allowed me to hear a bit clearer than unassisted. Speech is definitely distinct.

Excited to get the 18.1 next week! I find the current set up inconsistent, for example, "Custom Transparency Mode" in settings, which enables the hearing-aid function, randomly turns off. Very frustrating. In any case, if this is corrected in 18.1 and the sound quality improves, that's a definite win-win! Thanks for the report!
I keep hearing comments that because of the 6-ish hour battery life, these aren't for people that need them all day. But why not just buy another pair?
Thanks for the discussion about the improvements from using the accessibility feature. One thing on charging is that you can take one bud out at a time to charge. It add a decent amount of charge quickly.
This is a good point. When I’m listening to podcasts I sometimes do this so I can charge but also hear things like my wife. Kinda important to hear her for my physical health and safety. Haha jk honey if you see this.
I have hearing loss and severe Tinitus. I have tried the Audien Pro over the coiunter hearing aids, and wasn't thrilled. They sounded unnatural, and actually out of sync with each other. I recently got a pair of Airpods Pro 2, and was considering giving their hearing aid capabilities a try. Your video definitely pushed me in that direction. I'll do the hearing test tonight when the house is really quiet, and then give it a try. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing, Jason! My entire life has been wearing hearing aids, as my hearing issue was congenital. Been really curious about the iOS 18 feature, because I tend to wear my AirPods Pro when I go for power walks and for exercise out of my home. I'd love to try the feature out so that I can use them for, say, walking around, and try out convos with mepoel with them on. It's a pain when I can't hear someone even with the AirPods on, then have to remove them and put my hearing aids on, which is mostly not possible since I leave them at home during my power walks and exercises. Also, since my hearing loss is moderate to severe, not yet sure how well the feature will work, but worth a try. Really appreciate the video. Also, might be worth checking out Costco for hearing aids...pro tip!
As you are aware from Apple‘s description of its hearing aid feature in AirPods Pro 2, it is intended for those with mild to medium hearing loss, the kind associated with age, as in losing the ability due to hear the higher pitched sounds, which if you’re in conversation with women can make you miss a lot of words. That description is almost exactly what I am experiencing in my battle with hearing loss. What intrigued me about Apple‘s approach is how they first test your hearing to determine the frequencies that you are having problems with. Then, when you activate the hearing feature on the AirPods, the results of your hearing test cause your AirPods to boost the frequencies that you have trouble with. To me anyway, the simplicity of this approach represents a leap of innovation that challenges a very comfortable industry accustomed to justifying its stratospheric prices by invoking the mystical expertise of the “audiologist.” I’ve had my hearing tested by an audiologist and believe me, this is not rocket science! These AirPods have made a significant difference in my being able to understand what people are saying. To me, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting. These things work for me, and that fact is far more significant than the hocus pocus arguments an industry that sees its meal ticket in jeopardy. I understand your hearing loss is congenital and more serious than mine. It seems the possibility of a significantly improved hearing aid is more likely to come from Apple than from an industry that relies on your hearing loss for its income. Anyway, best of luck!
Thank you, sir! I’ve appreciated your viewpoints for a few years now, and I’m glad you haven’t abandoned the TH-cam platform. This video has convinced me to give my AirPods a serious go as hearing aids. I set them up last night, and was surprised at the change in music reproduction. Today I’ll try them without music; I’ll likely be glad I did. (Call me a snob, but actual hearing aids always had a stigma associated with them. AirPods Pro, on the other hand, are a subtle status symbol.) Have a good day, Jason, and thanks again!
Got it today 11/19/2024 and I’m very happy about it! Took a test and it really brought back my deficiencies in hi mid frequencies. I’m very happy with results. I could not believe until I try it. ❤❤❤
This is amazing. I have hearing loss and need to get hearing aids but the ones I tried were terrible and far out of my price range. This might be the solution.
Love your review and went out and bought a pair. Works well but getting tinny sounds, have you experienced this at all? Maybe I have a defective pair? Thank You 🙏💕
For my moderate hearing loss and tinnitus I have a good set of hearing aids tuned for speech and music. But, when I travel, I cannot use headphones with hearing aids. They feedback. Some have bluetooth, but the sound is OK. I am using the AirPods Pro 2 for music enjoyment with noise cancellation. The app makes sure that the specific frequencies I need are boosted. Great advancement for hearing health. Happy to see it being addressed post FDA changes.
Hi Jason Thank You for your review. I also noticed makes people speech much clearer! The occlusion effect for me actually is a little greater, but I’ll play with the settings. I have nerve deafness in my left ear. These are amazing thank you Apple. If you ever need older Mac stuff let me know Im cleaning out my basement.
Jason, really appreciate this review of the APP2 from someone who can actually benefit from them, you are the first I've seen so thank you! As someone who has been diagnosed with mild-moderate hearing loss I was really excited for this feature and after having used it for a few days my impression is, mixed bag but generally positive. On the plus side, it does amplify the sounds in my world so I can in fact hear my wife better and I can hear the TV better (and because of that I can keep the TV volume lower which makes her happier...happy wife happy life). On the down side it amplifies everything else, so if the dogs are chomping on bones, I hear that more. I actually find that I hear myself in my head more so the oclusion effect seems to be worse for me. If you're outside in the wind, forget about it. And sharp sounds like metal on metal, forks hitting plates, etc. kind of hurt my head. For me it's best after dinner if we're just sitting down to watch TV. Overall I think it's a positive life improvement so I say bravo to Apple for coming out with this feature!
@@thejasontlewis I've been playing around with that slider and you're right with the ambient noise, but then it impacts how well I can hear the TV at level that doesn't annoy my wife. We'll see how they refine this over time. I'm encouraged and I think it's a fantastic start.
Great video! For me Airpods 2 as a hearing aid is a godsend in one specific area. I've used prescription hearing aids for almost ten years and have been through two pairs of Oticon hearing aids at $5000/pair. I also wear prescription glasses. Until now I could only use over-the-ear headphones if I wanted media to sound good (hearing aids + headphones = reasonably normal sound). Unfortunately, "real estate" above and behind my ears is limited with hearing aids and glasses, so headphones (like Airpods Max) are uncomfortable with the pressure they exert on my ears. I can now swap out my hearing aids for Airpods 2, which are "tuned" to compensate for my hearing deficit both in transparency mode and with media, and they are comfortable. The rest of the time I still prefer my hearing aids which provide more balanced sound.
Can’t wait to get the AirPods Pro 2 and take this test. I’m worried I might have some hearing loss. I worked in the engine room of ships during the first two years of my career, and that might have caused some damage over the years. Plus, I've always worn earphones, whether wired or wireless. I may have my criticisms of Apple on many things, but they got this one right. Well done, Apple!
great video! happy that its helping you ! i hope that android google buds pro comes up with something similar! or perhaps its also possible? having earing loss and tinnitus myself.
Thank you for your honest review. I am currently waiting for the AirPods Pro 2 to be delivered. My gf never bought or wore hearing aids because she is anxious about how it looks on her. The AirPods will make her feel more confident.
Had a son 2½m ago, he has mild hearing loss from birth. So been looking up how it will affect hes life quality. Very nice that earbuds can function as hearing aid. Also hoping on that gene therapy that restored hearing in 25 kids in its first trial this year. Regrew those tiny hairs in the inner ear. Trying to figure out how this mild hearing loss will affect my sons life, very complex thing to understand as i take all those small sounds for granted!
just a note: my audiologist advised against wearing hearing protection like the musicians earplugs, airpods etc. for longer periods (for people with no severe hearing issues). it will make your brain and ears got used to these gadgets, then all noise/music/etc will be more damaging when you are not wearing them. Can cause or make Tinnitus worse then it was.. Thanks for sharing your experience. I was looking for such solution as i tested my JBL earpods and they were ok-ish, but they lack the features i was after. Then i heard about the Airpods Pro 2.
So very useful. Great review. I started using the Jabra OTC hearing aids 1.5 years ago, and it's been a fantastic change in my life. But they absolutely suck for music and podcasts and such. You have sold me on the Airpods... at least Gen 3 Pro when they're released next year. Thanks so much.
As someone who has hearing aids, I found your review informative. FYI, you’ll find having more than one set of hearing aids very beneficial. Battery life for rechargeable HA’s is only 12 to 14 hours. That will diminish over the years to the 10 hours +or- range. I’ve taken to even wearing a pair as I sleep. This seems to reduce my daytime tinnitus. Good luck on your journey.
My problem is hearing people speaking to me in a crowded area, but I cannot for the life of me get the conversation boost to work, (the feature that isolates peoples voices when you look at them, just clarifying because there are several voice features that sound similar). It looks like it’s set up properly but everyone raves about how amazing it is, and it doesn’t seem to do anything for me.
I am excited about trying this. The downside for me are the silicone tips. I’ve been searching for ages to find something aftermarket that doesn’t irritate my outer ear canal. Any ideas?
I would love to have this availabe to me in Canada, but our gatekeepers have not approved the feature apparently. If they do eventually get approval, I would consider getting a second pair if charging was an issue. I am sure the #3 version will be coming along.
Wow, great video and thank you for taking the time to share your insight. My wife has a condition that I'm hoping the AirPods Pro will help. She lost all of her hearing in her left ear one night in her sleep (a virus took out her auditory nerve). If she were to take the Apple hearing test and wear the AirPods, would the left one pick up noise on her left side and allow the sound to be heard in the right AirPod?
As someone that has moderate to severe hearing loss this is a step in the right direction. I wear an actual hearing aid in one ear and go without in the other just because it seems to balance out the background noise for my personal preference. For context last time I had a hearing test I had about 50% left in one ear and 75% in my good ear. Although that was years ago now.
My husband tried these and they worked well for watching tv, however, when he would speak to me, the volume of his own voice was so loud that it hurt his ears. Is there possibly a setting that he needs to change?
Apple have done great with AirPods Pro 2 actually giving consumers value for $200 cost, never thought I would pay that for earbuds but after testing my brothers AirPods Pro 2 sold me, 👍👍video
I’ve been using the transparency mode for the past year or so. I’ve been suffering from moderate hearing loss and these have worked much better than my hearing aids, by far the best money I’ve ever spent in a product in my life. Curious to see how the new update will work!
They DID NOT have hearing aid function, they were PSA Personal Sound Amplifiers. NOT hearing aids. The s.w. is currently scheduled for release 28 Oct '24.
Thank you Jason How do they work when your playing an instrument? I have moderate to severe hearing loss about the same both ears, I'm learning piano and the sound is off it's annoying.Anyway do you wear your ear buds when playing an instrument? and how is the sound?
Hi Jason this is Christopher from Brantford Ontario in in Canada, and I wanted to let you know I've been a long time viewer however I rarely comment but I do enjoy your content. I also wanted to let you know that soundcore by anchor has a couple both over-the-ear and earbud versions that have the same idea they call it h e a r i d. I recently purchased the soundcore space 1 headphones, P40i Earbuds with the same technology They are both fantastic items and for me much cheaper than buying products from Apple.
If you are in a restaurant at a table with many people talking the same time, how does it know to boost the conversation of the one person you are listening too. It seems it would still be jumbled. Also will it work with my android phone or do I have to switch to the Apple ecosystem?
There’s some DSP magic happening in there. It sounds like it uses the noise cancelling function to dampen certain frequencies and isolate the frequencies most prevalent in speech. Unfortunately, you do have to on iOS to take advantage of the more advanced AirPods features.
Once you have your phone off, does the hearing aid part still work? I have the Airpod Pro 2 but I am a Samsung phone user. Is there a way to avail of the hearing aid piece? I do have access to someone with an iPhone to get the firmware upgrade, but I would not be able to stay connected to their phone.
The FDA approved it here. I don't know if it's approved elsewhere, but there is an "unofficial " hearing ad support in the AirPods Pro 2 thought the Accessibility menu.
I can’t use it where I live. I’m pretty sure if they just called the feature differently in regions where they don’t have approval yet, they could still offer it.
Just note that Apple states that as with many hearing aids, this is rated for minor to moderate hearing loss. If you need something for severe loss, this is not for you. Maybe someday, but not now. Almost no insurance covers hearing aids. That’s a shame. Costco has their own hearing aid models that they. Will set up for you, but the cheapest is $879. The most expensive is $1,995. If you need/want custom fitting adapters, that’s more. They get good ratings. They have a good warrantee. But the survey noted that the breakage rate under warrantee is an astounding 55%!
Hey Jason, I lead the largest online community of people with hearing loss in Brazil. Clube Surdos Que Ouvem. I'll be sharing this video with my community! Best regards! PS: how can I send you my last book (kindle)?
I don’t know if I am doing something wrong but none of the controls showing with my newly purchased iPod 2 pro. I have a moderate hearing loss and was hoping that this will help. I can’t set it up. Maybe because I am in Canada? I have an iPhone 15 +and 18.1 . Any help would be appreciated.
Interesting video , thanx ! Not yet available in France … but interested, to have audio correction when I use my AirPod Pro 2 … Why the Balance setting? I understood that the hearing test was on each ear … then no need to tune the balance by default no ? The correction need to be different on each ear …
I don't know how it adjust for the difference between hearing volume from one ear to the next. It may just be for people who feel the need to adjust. I've tried it since my left ear is word than my right and it does help a bit. Your brain gets used to and and adjusts for differences like that without you knowing, so it could be helpfult to some people with more modereate loss in one ear.
It’s like having ASMR for the world. 😂 I knew something changed when I could hear the tumblrs inside of the doorknob when I went to go into the to garage.
I just checked my iPhone X and is is reading software up to date and it 18.0.1. I’m in Canada and it appears we don’t have access to the hearing aid function. Do you have a developers update? I’ve heard nothing as to when 18.1 will be available. Last I heard it was in the fall sometime. Do you have info on this?
So…do the adjustments you make in the hearing aide process remain in the normal usage mode? Example - I need less base and higher frequency listening to audio books or podcasts. Do the hearing aide corrections apply to those usages?
I belong to the other club - Android, so I tried the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro with my Samsung S24 Ultra. They too had impressive features and functionality. There was a 10 band hearing test, noise reduction, ambient sounds, 10 band EQ, etc. I was impressed with the sound delivered to my Buds. Phone calls and music were corrected to my hearing test. The big disappointment however was that the EQ curve or my manual EQ setting were not transferred to the EarBuds to process the ambient sound, so they don't function as hearing aids unless listening to music from the phone or taking a call. Do the AirPods EQ the ambient sound?
Thank you for sharing! Question, do you notice that it will work, (just like you were talking about) and it “shuts off” suddenly when you’re not talking? I wish there was a way to keep it on the whole time. For example, when I am talking I can almost hear it turn on and I can hear everything perfectly! But a few seconds after I stop talking, it’s like the hearing aid portion turns off, until I start talking again. Does that make sense? 😂 just curious if anyone else has that issue and if there’s a way to always keep it on? Thank you
If you are considering using hearing aids in conjunction with a mobile phone (using Bluetooth), then there is an important issue to consider. All mobile phones contain at least one codec to facilitate audio transmission and quality. Some codecs are better than others. The single codec in the Samsung Galaxy S 24 does not support all hearing aids. On the other hand, the codec in the iPhone 16 is better quality and does a much better job of working with hearing aids. So it’s important to do your research before buying. Very few tech firms take into account the needs of consumers with disabilities (I’m looking at you Samsung).
I have tried two pair of AirPods and found they caused pain in my ears and they wouldn’t stay in my ears no matter which rubber tips I tried. My hearing aids are much more comfortable with better volume. I haven’t tried the AirPods 2 for fear the wouldn’t stay in.
I bought the OTC Audien hearing aids. Since my hearing loss is mild, these are like my trainers since I know my hearing will get worse. I only wear them when I am with friends who speak softly. Most people I can hear well. With a few exceptions, they are ok. One exception is they fall out of my ears on occasion. Another is they make things sound tinny. When I need to get better hearing aids I will go to an audiologist and use my insurance discount. I don't think the AirPods will work for me. Thanks for your video I "liked" it.
I have tried the new hearing aid function for my AirPods Pro and have to say it does a very good job. I wear hearing aids that cost me $2K and can tell you that the AirPods Pro work as good for me.
I have "profound loss in a frequency band starting at 1,100 CPS up." Will AirPods work for this? Most of conversational information is carried in frequencies below this band. So, this means in talking to females, I lose some understanding because of attenuation of their voices.
@@thejasontlewis That is what I have concluded. The AirPods would probably help a bit. I may give them a try; my wife is a big Apple user. So, she would inherit them is they fail to solve my problem.
This is interesting to see Apple dip into this "market" or with the features they have. They are likely contributing enormously to noise induced hearing loss so it's good to see some address to it.
You have to do it when the AirPods are connected and go through the AirPods setting in the settings app. It will be near the top of the main settings page. But they have to be conneted to see it.
I have moderate hearing loss. I am using airpods pro 2 as hearing aids but I noticedthat it is essential to keep your iphone connected to airpods always. Is there any solution to use airpods as hearing aids without keeping always connected to my iphone?
I bought a pair of the Pro2 airpods and they work perfectly for me without the Iphone. You need your iphone only initially to set them up for your particular hearing loss.
Thank you for posting this video. Very informative. However, I can’t seem to find the adjustments page shown about 10:35. I must be missing something… Also, at 3:35 my iPhone is only showing “media assist”. Hearing aid doesn’t appear.
Hello. I bought the new AirPods 2. I updated to OS 18.1 and firmware 7B19 for the AirPods. I am not seeing the "hearing aid" feature on the AirPods Menu. I heard that Apple has not yet authorized the use of this feature in other countries. I live in the U.S. but I am currently traveling in Central America. I also use a VPN at all times. Since it looks like I am not able to use the new feature that Apple has released, can you tell me how you were able to transfer the info from Mimi to be used by the AirPods? I put the PDF of my hearing test results from my audiologist in the health App also, but it's just there. How do I get the Airpods to read this information? In your video (10:50 segment) you are not indicating how you transferred that info to be read by the AirPods. When I go under "accessibility" settings, I can see that my Resound hearing aids are there (only one works), but I want to see how I put the AirPods in there instead. Only one of my Resound hearing aids works. I want to be able to use the AirdPods as hearing aids. I hope this question is clear as to what I want to accomplish.

I understand your hearing loss is congenital and more serious than mine. It seems the possibility of a significantly improved hearing aid is more likely to come from Apple than from an industry that relies on your hearing loss for its income. Anyway, best of luck!
Thanks a lot. Excellent video. I have hearing issues similar to yours and this was a very clear, concise review.
Thanks Jason.
Working great for me. I’m 70 and absolutely loving these AirPods.
If you ever need older Mac stuff let me know Im cleaning out my basement.
this is amazing content i didn't even know i needed. thank you for sharing!
Try adjusting the ambient sound slider in the settings. That will tone down the chewing sounds, etc
How are they for conversation in noisy environments like a restaurant?
Can’t wait to get the AirPods Pro 2 and take this test. I’m worried I might have some hearing loss. I worked in the engine room of ships during the first two years of my career, and that might have caused some damage over the years. Plus, I've always worn earphones, whether wired or wireless. I may have my criticisms of Apple on many things, but they got this one right. Well done, Apple!
Thank You so much for this great review 🙏💕👍
great video! happy that its helping you ! i hope that android google buds pro comes up with something similar! or perhaps its also possible? having earing loss and tinnitus myself.
Jason returning to you … I havent recived any notifications since a long time untill today
Thanks. I have a pair of Sonys I'm reviewing soon and another pair coming in as well. I'm excited to try all the different options.
Super helpful assessment of AirPod pro 2. I have first gen and wondered if I should upgrade. Listening to your experience sold me.
I hope they work out for you.
Great info,,,
I’m still waiting for the Software update,,,
Quick question about your T-Shirt(😂)
Are you “Pro Vinyl” or Anti Vinyl”?
My problem is hearing people speaking to me in a crowded area, but I cannot for the life of me get the conversation boost to work, (the feature that isolates peoples voices when you look at them, just clarifying because there are several voice features that sound similar). It looks like it’s set up properly but everyone raves about how amazing it is, and it doesn’t seem to do anything for me.
I am excited about trying this. The downside for me are the silicone tips. I’ve been searching for ages to find something aftermarket that doesn’t irritate my outer ear canal. Any ideas?
I just got some foam tips from Amazon. They offer a less slippery feel so far.
What app do you use? Thx.
I would love to have this availabe to me in Canada, but our gatekeepers have not approved the feature apparently. If they do eventually get approval, I would consider getting a second pair if charging was an issue. I am sure the #3 version will be coming along.
How does this work? Does the phone pick up sound and play it to the AirPods or can you use them independently of the phone?
Thanks for all the information!
Thank you for your review. I wonder if your ears still feel plugged when you use these and if you can hear voices, words more distinctly with them?
Super Video Jason very informative… Thank you
I appreciate that. Glad to help.
Nice video, thanks ❤
Thanks for this. I have updated to 18.1 but don’t see the hearing test. I live in the UK. Has it been released yet in my country?
My husband tried these and they worked well for watching tv, however, when he would speak to me, the volume of his own voice was so loud that it hurt his ears. Is there possibly a setting that he needs to change?
Does it compensate the loss of hearing when playing back media?
Thanks for a very informative video.😊
My pleasure! 😊
I really enjoyed this. I like your style. I also needed the information so I can get started.
My pleasure!
Beta users already got it
Is this feature only available for US customers? I don't see it in my AP 2 setting :c
Do you need a apple phone to make these work for hearing aids? I have a Samsung phone will that work?
Thank you Jason How do they work when your playing an instrument? I have moderate to severe hearing loss about the same both ears, I'm learning piano and the sound is off it's annoying.Anyway do you wear your ear buds when playing an instrument? and how is the sound?
They’re ok. I take hearing aids out when I’m doing music because it’s more comfortable.
Can I use these as hearing aids with an iPad?
Going to the cinema, I found it's BETTER with AirPods Pro 2. Wow
Great video:) my question is if I have mild hearing lost in my left ear do I have to wear both AirPods or can I ear just the one I need one one ear?
You could wear one.
very helpful video thank you!!!
You are welcome!
I recently purchased the soundcore space 1 headphones, P40i Earbuds with the same technology
They are both fantastic items and for me much cheaper than buying products from Apple.
@StoneChuckker do you have hearing loss and do the earbuds help
It should work bcz settings are stored in airpods ig
Is this feature only available in US?
The FDA approved it here. I don't know if it's approved elsewhere, but there is an "unofficial " hearing ad support in the AirPods Pro 2 thought the Accessibility menu.
I can’t use it where I live. I’m pretty sure if they just called the feature differently in regions where they don’t have approval yet, they could still offer it.
Me too I don't see it in my AP 2 settings :c
Will the hearing aid function work off the watch if the phone isn't nearby?
If they get to the point where the batteries last for 6-8 hours then they will basically own the market for otc hearing aids.
They are so cheap you just own 2 pair, when one is exhausted, the other is fully charged.
So…do the adjustments you make in the hearing aide process remain in the normal usage mode? Example - I need less base and higher frequency listening to audio books or podcasts. Do the hearing aide corrections apply to those usages?
Does this feature amplify the music as well as hearing. being deaf makes listening to music pointless with headphones
I’m testing them against other otc hearing aids and they hold up very well.
Hi Jason can you transfer the sound coming in from left to the right ear(pod)?
I don’t believe so. You can wear one at a time, which might achieve something similar.
@@thejasontlewis don’t think so; I am deaf to one ear. Hope to catch sound from left into my right ear
I have "profound loss in a frequency band starting at 1,100 CPS up." Will AirPods work for this? Most of conversational information is carried in frequencies below this band. So, this means in talking to females, I lose some understanding because of attenuation of their voices.
It sounds like you’ll need a stronger amplification solution to be able to understand the frequencies you're missing.
I don’t think this feature is available in Australia yet can anybody confirm?
I have the airpods pro but don’t see the options in settings. Do I need to get the latest iPhones for the hearing aid to work?
You have to do it when the AirPods are connected and go through the AirPods setting in the settings app. It will be near the top of the main settings page. But they have to be conneted to see it.
Having great hearing aids work for me but before these I had a cheaper vision that just made things louder
My iPhone isn’t showing hearing aid settings on the AirPods Pro 2 page. Is this because I’m outside the USA (I’m in UK)?
I don’t think it’s available outside the U.S. There are some heading aid features in the accessories settings.
I have moderate hearing loss. I am using airpods pro 2 as hearing aids but I noticedthat it is essential to keep your iphone connected to airpods always. Is there any solution to use airpods as hearing aids without keeping always connected to my iphone?
They should work without iphone
I bought a pair of the Pro2 airpods and they work perfectly for me without the Iphone. You need your iphone only initially to set them up for your particular hearing loss.
I am just curious, I am wondering how long the AirPods Pro 2 last as a hearing aids?!?!
About 5.5hrs
La funzionalità degli apparecchi acustici funzionerà su iPhone 12 Pro?
Thank you for posting this video. Very informative. However, I can’t seem to find the adjustments page shown about 10:35. I must be missing something…
Also, at 3:35 my iPhone is only showing “media assist”. Hearing aid doesn’t appear.
Are you going into the AirPods Pro 2 settings and not the Accessibility settings?
@ yes.
@, figured it out. Everything is working now. Thank you!
If these ever get approved to be listed as a haring aid for the approved for FSA/HSA/SFMRA reimbursment I will be getting a pair
