Now I am watching this video going along with your steps and the Apple Intelligence extension is not an option when I go to Apple Intelligence and Siri. I am in the USA.

No buddy you’re not, I’m using it constantly too, it’s just so sleek and to the point. And now the new search mode makes it even better providing visuals.
This privacy with chat got is one of the reasons it took time to roll all this out. Nobody else does this extra step to ensure privacy. I love all the updates. Been using 18.2 since the first beta. Worked solid the whole time. Battery on my 16 pro max is fantastic.

Looks promising. I'm able to setup on both my iPhone and my Mac, but for some reason downloading of Apple Intelligence to my iPad is stuck. I tried several times, even restarted my iPad, and it's still stuck at 0 percent. Look forward to having it there because I use my iPad tons.
He was holding down the side button, that lets you talk to Siri without saying “Hey Siri” or “Siri” first. But he said that when you do that, if you say “ChatGPT” when you start talking, it will always use that.

The iPhone still only wakes up and responds to “Siri…” or “Hey Siri”. Or you can hold down the side button which starts it listening, he was doing that, it just wasn’t easy to see. But once Siri is ready you can then say “ChatGPT…”

I updated to iOS 18.2 on my iPhone 16 pro max and the Apple Intelligence is bugged. It’s stuck on “downloading support for Apple Intelligence”. It’s still the old Siri without ChatGPT, and I don’t have access to Image Playground and Visual Intelligence yet. Only the writing tools seem to be working. Idk why this is happening; it was working fine in the 18.2 beta…I tried turning Apple Intelligence off, then turning it back on, and restarting my phone, but it’s still not working.

I basically uploaded a photo I took while vacationing, and dropped it to the ChatGPT and asked it what what’s on the picture. It knew what it was! It could be done on Notes, pages and such but still somewhat a hassle.

After updating to 18.2 I’m using the native GPT app so far tbh, the UI is more intuitive my convos are logged and I can select text easily ask it to change it etc. I just have it on my action button and I open it constantly.
It's just so much slower to use the app now and it can't generate text in-app, so the ChatGPT extension is far more useful and convenient to use on a daily basis. I only ever need to go into ChatGPT if I want to use advanced voice mode or if I'm doing something more complex where I need to revisit the same convos over and over& over again to iterate on
When I ask it to send a text the UI cuts off the send/cancel buttons so lame, and CarPlay nav always gets me an error, can’t ask it to take me anywhere

So i just upgraded software to 18.2 connected it to my chat GPT and now i have lost al my AI and Siri! Started following instructions here and got to extensions, added Chat GPT, now Ive lost all AI capability, even the Siri function where you tap on bottom of phone! (I’m using 16 Pro)…
I tried it using a selfie as a reference. It said “I'm unable to modify personal photos or create images of specific individuals” followed by tips about how to dress like a Viking etc.
We do technically, just change language and also Siri settings to English US and it unlocks the Apple AI. Iv had it on my 15 pro max since they released it by doing this.
I want to mention one thing here which Brandon hasn't. While Apple Intelligence is available in localised English, ChatGPT is available only in US English. If you wanted to use the capabilities of ChatGPT in Siri, you need to use Apple Intelligence in US English. The ChatGPT toggle shows up in Settings even on localised English but it just doesn't work and gives an error something in the lines of "something went wrong". I couldn't find any explanation from Apple or OpenAI around this, or it might just be a me issue, but if you're having problems using ChatGPT in localised English, this might help.

No matter what Apple AI brings to the table, it does not compete with Gemini on any level, and that includes ChatGPT. Don't fool yourself, this is not that, and that is not Google. Gemini is what everyone is trying & striving to be.

I have it all set up but the simplest of tasks can’t be done. I simply want Siri to search my Notes (I use them extensively). I ask it the same question and get different answers. Only once in ten did it find what I was looking for. I use Perplexity (not Chat GPT) for all external AI searches. I simply want Siri to use Apple Intelligence to search for information in all my Apple apps - reminders, mail, notes. A failure to the highest degree. (Unless I am missing the tree of knowledge in this Chat GPT forest of confusion).

Now that I’ve updated to the official 18.2 release, my Apple Intelligence has been wiped out and it apparently wont come back. I’m in the U.S., fully charged and still connected to power, on my stable and actual home WiFi router, and I’m getting this message for three days now: “Downloading support for Apple Intelligence. Connect iPhone to Wi-Fi and power while models are downloading. 0% complete...” Three days! And it just wont download even though it was all there when I was running the Beta version of 18.2.
There are a lot of users experiencing this issue, and the only fix (from a user on the Apple Forums) is to first turn off Apple Intelligence, then, ironically, switch your iPhone’s Region to United Kingdom and then switch Siri to British English, then turn Apple Intelligence back on and it works! But the moment you switch your region back to United States, it’s broken again. Been dealing with this issue for three days as have many others…

It’s included. After I set up ChatGPT I told Siri “create a watercolor of a duck” and it showed up in a few seconds.

Only the 15 pro gets it.
Only the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max and all 16 models have access to Apple intelligence. If you have a normal 15 you’re out of luck.
Like they said. But you can still get the ChatGPT app and it can do most of the same stuff, just with different and usually more steps.

Only if you change your language and phone settings to English US. Worth doing, changes nothing user wise and gives you all the AI features.

Your phone is too old. You need iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16. But you probably can still use the regular ChatGPT app to do most of the same stuff.

I have it all set up but the simplest of tasks can’t be done. I simply want Siri to search my Notes (I use them extensively). I ask it the same question and get different answers. Only once in ten did it find what I was looking for. I use Perplexity (not Chat GPT) for all external AI searches. I simply want Siri to use Apple Intelligence to search for information in all my Apple apps - reminders, mail, notes. A failure to the highest degree. (Unless I am missing the tree of knowledge in this Chat GPT forest of confusion).

I’m in China rn, and have no chatgpt available, even tho i got my 16pro from Hong Kong, all the new futures are available for me except those that require chatgpt ,so basically still using siri, hoping that it will be available here soon😔

@@BrandonButchI mentioned this as well on your previous video… I had Apple Intelligence on my new iPhone 16 Pro working perfectly fine when I was on the 18.2 Beta. Now that I’ve updated to the official 18.2 release, my Apple Intelligence has been wiped out and it apparently wont come back. I’m in the U.S., fully charged and still connected to power, on my stable and actual home WiFi router, and I’m getting this message for three days now:
“Downloading support for Apple Intelligence. Connect iPhone to Wi-Fi and power while models are downloading. 0% complete...”
Three days! And it just wont download even though it was all there when I was running the Beta version of 18.2.
There are a lot of users experiencing this issue, and the only fix (from a user on the Apple Forums) is to first turn off Apple Intelligence, then, ironically, switch your iPhone’s Region to United Kingdom and then switch Siri to British English, then turn Apple Intelligence back on and it works! But the moment you switch your region back to United States, it’s broken again. Been dealing with this issue for three days as have many others…
