    Loved all the footage especially how you showcased your gear while on the field as the 'what's in my bag' explanation. Loved that part as it makes the viewer feel like they are part of the experience of being a filmmaker and what to pack and such! Thanks for posting and keep it up!

    nice to see inside your bag! this whole time I thought you had the PL version of the 11-20 and the main thing stopping me from getting it for Komodo was lack of nd, but I see what setup you have now! Brill!

      @@Joey_Helms Have you had any issues with that monitor? I need one but it doesn't have the greatest reviews on bnh .

    I'm looking forward to get 11-20 tokina cine lens. are there any wide angle cine lens that covers full frame?

    • @Joey_Helms
      @Joey_Helms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not on top of my head. You would have to go with prime lenses. But hey, let’s have the community chime in :)

    • @MackerelSkyLtd

      @@Joey_Helms There are a couple of 12mm primes that work with full frame. We use the Rokinon 12mm (EF mount, cine geared) when we want a fisheye feel. There's also a crazy cool low-distortion 12mm from Laowa that an AC of ours brings to some shoots. Not a cine lens, but it's f/2.8, so that's nice.

    • @Joey_Helms
      @Joey_Helms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks mate! Oh right, many fly that laowa on drones ha

    • @Exploredinary
      @Exploredinary 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We just got the Laowa 12mm t 2.9 Zero D cine lens (the cine version of the lens MackerelSkyLtd mentioned) . Its full frame and can even cover the larger sensors like Alexa LF. At $1500 new we thought it was a great deal!

      You could get the Tokina 50-135 PL or the wider Tokina PL zoom.

    What are the honest thoughts on the Breakthrough stuff. You're one of the few who actually have one. Also question on your lens support. Do you just run the telephoto off the lens mount with no rail support or other point of contact? I'm always worried it will stress the joint - especially whilst on sticks.

    Great video with nice gear and great footage.
    BTW, how do you transport your Flowtech tripod when walking longer distances?
    I love my flowtech so much, it quickly gets too heavy during walking, especially with a nice fluid head mounted.

    Hey Joey, getting the Komodo and I'm at the stage of investing in some lenses. Will be shooting action sports (Skiing and mountain biking). Would you recommend going with Canon glass with autofocus or cine lenses for capturing highest quality of fast moving subjects. Thinking of one lens for close-ups/wide angle on gimbal and another lens for filming from far on tripod. Let me know what you would recommend. Thanks in advance! :)

    • @Joey_Helms
      @Joey_Helms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly the AF won’t be fast and reliable enough for fast moving objects so you are on the safer side pulling focus manually. For a wide angle zoom I can totally recommend the tokina 11-20. Big fan. Telezoom you may end up with the RF 70-200. It’s compact and powerful

    how do you travel on flights with all this gear? are you able to bring that big backpack on a flight? it looks too large for carry-on. thanks!

    • @Joey_Helms
      @Joey_Helms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's borderline in size with the bags on top, so if you take them off as your 'personal item' you are generally good to go. Definitely on international flights. Where I had challenges getting it into the overhead bin is on CRJ jets.
