In this video titled EU4 - What if The USA Existed in 1444? we take a look at what would happen if The United States of America existed in 1444 / what if The USA existed at the start of EU4. In this video I created the USA by giving them all the land that they own in the present day. As you can probably guess this scenario resulted in some pretty funny shenanigans. Obviously you would expect that The USA would dominate, but did it really turn out that way? This whole run was controlled by the AI only without my interference and it yielded some pretty interesting results to be honest. So, after watching this video you will know what would happen if The United States of America existed in 1444 in Europa Universalis 4. What is the next "What if" scenario that I should do? Leave a comment below! The save file is available for all Tier 1 and above TH-cam members in the save-games Discord channel.

What if all modern day countries/borders existed in 1444 would be cool.
what if russia existed in 1444?
swapping nations from North America and Europe and swapping nations from South America and Africa, it would be really interesting seeing Asian nations and Europeans (now north Americans) fight for Europe
force spawning the renaissance made this 'what if' a bit cursed if you ask me
What if just with a random new world
I wish that this was the original 13 states vs modern day borders. Would give more nations a chance at the rest of the continent
That’s a whole other video!
Im literally doing this right now.
@@TheRedHawk what if the 13 colonies existed in 1444?
I know this isn’t much, but I really appreciate how you make sure the countries stick together. Most other people will just make the country and it will implode within a few years. It’s a small thing, but makes your videos even better
"Idaho isn't a province, it's a wasteland."
Yup. That tracks.
pataytas
Don't change much to present day innit?
You should Do a independent Texas 1840 Borders . With 400 dev.
This is such a good idea!
Colorado is wasteland right?
17:46 That's not that cursed.
In 1480, Mehmed the Conqueror tasked a pasha to occupy the fort of Otranto, a small fort in Salento, Kingdom of Naples. The pasha was succesful. The next move of Mehmed the Conqueror would probably be conquering the rest of Naples, but he died just one year later. The pasha left the fort, then the Naples retook it.
That's a weird way of spelling 'blessed'.
I can already smell the freedom
Anglo saxon England.
With claims in lower denmark and the Netherlands.
This
You can use command "embrace" to give an institution to a province without the need to develop it
The border with Mexico at the beginning is honestly the most accurate then any other borders from the what if series
What if Austria-Hungary existed in 1444?
Great idea!
Should've moved the Capital to Philadelphia instead as it was the capital before DC was created or you could have moved the Capital to St. Louis as there were talks in the 19th century to move it there, but it doesn't matter to much.
There wouldn't be search for el dorado
but search for oil,
I was really curious to see how much land you would give them to start; they’re basically the number one great power. This is how they manifest their destiny, lol
I tried something quite nice that you might want to look into. from a empty map, build one OPN at every trade node, giving them all the same idea set. I gave them the "expand siberian frontier" traditon so the map would be filled fast; and didn't really care for the others as long as it was consistent.
Could you make a battle royal out of this scenario?
Wow, great video! You should do one with all the different American States Independent in a sort of HRE.
Good idea!
@@TheRedHawk one-Province Washington country would have other states as vassals/in PU
Wouldn't Philadelphia make more sense as the capital?
Yeah I thought about it tbh
@@TheRedHawk at the end of the day it doesn't affect the outcome!
Why would Philadelphia make more sence?
@@Tzar1 It was the capital before Washington DC was made
@@antorseax9492 thanks!
What if the Russian empire(with Alaska) existed in 1444
Bet
@@TheRedHawk yessss
There must be a mod for revolutionary flags
There isn't, and it makes me want to die
So apparently the Emperor of Mali was so rich and bored with governing that he decided to try sail across the Atlantic in the early 1300s. He even abdicated his throne to his brother to go on this adventure. So what if he did end up in South America and Mali got Brazil and la plata as colonies in 1444?
This sounds OP to me, we'll see.
Not even half-way and this looks super OP!
Idea: What if the Ottoman Turks never left central Asia? Would be interesting to see how important the Ottomans starting position is to their power.
This!
The mission tree would be messed up tho
Can’t wait for the cursed American colonial empire
Its real, 1856 to present 😳
@@jamestalbert3951 no
To be fair, we did used to own the Philippines and have a few overseas territories as well. Hell, one of our states is a very large exclave.
@@Nordisk11 We definitely still do have a lot of oversees territories that do not have state status as well. Take Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, etc etc...
these are the true United States of AMERICA
It would be nice to see a video with a bunch of smaller nations like the netherlands, silesia, pomerania, hanover, swabia, hawai'i, armenia, ireland, etc.
Just to see if anything big changes.
12:28 - gold mines, they want gold mines
It makes sense for the US to be going to South America. They're following the trade network
Cuiaba -> Lima -> Panama -> Caribbean -> Chesapeake
Now this america saw the The red hawk's eu4 subreddit video and they were playing with the monitor on its side to go super tall
What if at the same time, all colonial nations existed in their minimum extension. Or at their biggest with the Europeans as well
Sounds like the Monroe Doctrine in effect
22:32 Serbia is Muslim while Bosnia and Kosovo are Christian :)))
What if Mexico existed in 1444
If anyone sees this, should I buy EU4, and if I do what DLC should I get? I already have hoi4 vic2 and ck3
Of course, get art of war, common sense and emperor, those are the top 3 must have DLCs according to me
@@TheRedHawk alright, thanks for the advice and thanks for the reply. I’ll be buying it ASAP :D I’m loving your content so keep uploading (tho don’t tire yourself out)
getting the game and all dlcs with 50% discount is around 250eu/bucks, so yeah, get the subscription without being scared of spending big money
@@edgarratsep3631 thanks for the advice everyone I’ll look to get it as cheap as possible
Buy the game for like less than $5, use cracked dlc on a legit steam copy :)
You shouldn't have spawned any new Institutions for them.
Can you do Ming Chinese border next please?
What’s really cursed is Portugal being ruled by a Tudor and the heir of England being a Habsburg.
I'm pretty shure that there was a vid like that in the past
It might be interesting to do full modern-day borders in the Americas vs. vanilla rest of the world
Castile taking Venice as an ally seems to be standard now for some reason.
In general Castile/Spain is total asshole when you play as poland/hungary/austria, to the point that they ally otomans when you have both of them as rivals.
From all the changes of origins DLC, AI being total troll is most interesting.
EU4 - What if Red finally did the Denmark guide?
You should do what if Rome Established the 13 Colonies with the Extended timeline mod.
If someone takes over Rome could you show where else the pope pops up?
The caliphate in 1444 i think it will be good scenario
This somewhat resembles a multiplayer lobby
what about peak japan in eu4?
The best timeline, Pan American States and L shaped Portugal
Brittany did remarkably well. The AI brittany is always too inept in my games to colonize.
Can we have a what if Nubia was united pls
Unfortunally there is not nothing special about the region but the history of the region may compensate for it
do the british empire that would be very intresting
wait could you do alexanders empire?
I will!
"What if the USA existed in 1444?"
**MANIFEST DESTINY INTENSIFIES**
Landshut inheriting Burgundy is nothing. In my Vijayanagar game, Saxe Lauenburg inherited them. A one province minor.
In my game Poland became emperor, inherited burgundy and then lost the title
And I thought britanny getting them was cursed
You should put this in Vic 2
The virgin islands depicted are actually St. Croix on bottom, St. Thomas on left, and St. John on right, making them all US islands
It being in the seventeenth century and France bordering Granada is just crazy
What if Soviet union existed in 1444 (1946)
One critique, capital of the us was Philadelphia before Washington so it should have been there
Prediction: The AI will find a way to fuck this up
Hmm
it would be nice if you transfered this game to victoria 2
me watching this video from 2 years ago at 4 AM.... 😂
Can you try what if the Philippines existed in 1444?
What if skanderbeg never died?
Albania back to its historical borders(earth)
What if Russia existed in 1444
I’ll do it!
Star spanked World...
could you do mexico
Yes!
How about “What if the CSA existed in 1444?”
I know it is late, but I guess that they took the world
you forgot to give them wake island
Manifest desitiny intensifies
come lets getem to 100k
Maybe what if mughals existed in 1444. ( their biggest borders)
Gunpowder empires would be better.
This playthrough is based
Tusa in 1444?😳
What if Yugoslavia existed in 1444
Great idea!
The US really enforced the Monroe Doctrine huh..
Oh yeah sweet, sweet Manifest Destiny 🤤
Seeing this video i asked myself
-What if the Ottoman Empire excisted in 1444?
ottomans in 1444? that’s crazy talk
Lmao
@@Podzhagitel ofc i mean at his highest peak man. Jesus i cant believe that i have to explain it. Isnt it obvious?
Time for some early "freedom"
2022 marks the 200th anniversary of Brazil. What if 1822 Brazil, a Catholic Monarchy, existed in 1444?
Why wouldn't the capitol be philadelphia
I thought about it but I went with NYC anyway
See I live in Philly and hate NY, frank you
Now its only fair to do russia or china next
Will do!
can we get a what if Russia existed in 1444?
My prediction it dominand power
My best wishes lay with the peoples of the middle east
Saddam Hussein deserved to be taught a lesson by the Americans. He literally eliminated 250,000 humans (HRW), most of them Kurdish civilians. Stop believing the lies that he were supposedly a great benevolent man who cared for his people. He cared more for his golden Rolex watches than for the Kurds.
@@larochejaquelein3680 yeah, Saddam should have been put down. By a UN strikeforce. Not by an illegal invasion.
nice
What if the EU existed in 1444 xD
Florida?
I talknig an other timelapse
wheres the south American dictators part
Lmao
I wonder if the US will join the league wars
I think they couldn't because the capital was not in Europe. This war is a matter of geography and not religion
'Murica!
Why isn’t the Puerto Rico a colony
You could have Done Philadelphia or Maryland
@The Red Hawk the US isn’t Protestant in real life.
What is Kurland dominated the West Africa supremely
what if the us and ussr existed at the same time?
prediction: USA will dominate the new world but do absolutely nothing outside of that.
After watching was right about the USA though pretty crazy stuff in europe, Landshut Burgundy, Ottoman italy and France getting savagely picked apart, though the Brits going hard into France isnt too uncommon, they tend to pick exploration later if they still got their European land.
Russia dying to the Hordes you dont see very often.
Whats the next what if?
I would have started the USA as the 13 colonies so they would not be over powered
2:54 are you saying the us didn’t brutally conquer and genocide the natives
You deved usa to the extreme. Usa had far less dev than any old world european country....
