In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4 1.36 King of Kings) video we will be loading up the Extended Timeline mod, beginning at the Roman Empire bookmark, and running it all the way through to current day. A LOT of stuff changes as time goes on, and there's quite a few interesting upsets!

I Don't know why / I don't understand it but everything I try to do this 3 common things happen
1 Rome Instantly Collaspes
2 Christianity Never does Well / Not to the real life extend
The biggest I have seen Christianity get was most of Continental Europe except for Gaul , British Isles, Iberia Which all became Druidist and were the 3 biggest Nations in Europe
3 Cottia always is a Big nation after Rome's collaspe
You should try to re-do this with Responsible Blobbing installed, too. I'd imagine there would be more interesting results without so many massive blobs forming
@jackhouse1618 if you're not using a total conversion mod like extended timeline, I'd recommend using Responsible Warfare alongside it. The game definitely moves slower in terms of expansion, and armies will be smaller, but atleast I personally have always enjoyed playing the game expanding slower and being more strategic with my wars, and I imagine other people would enjoy doing the same.
Agreed the blob v blob part was not as interesting as the start.
I use that mod when planning on converting to victoria, but it would work well for a game as long as this.
A bit of info on the things after Parthia: The original persian region seperated and conquered Parthia creating the Sasanids who got conquered by Arabia And after some time i think the Abbasids lost Persia to also muslim Chorasemians
Nice always wanted to do this but it does just takes so long an my pc would turn into a nuclear bomb
It took me like 8 hours over 2 days to do this so I understand
Chewbert i have an idea for you, or rather a challenge!
Create a custom nation with a max 250 points, spend it however you want. But you can not start in the New World. and become one of the Great Powers by the end of the game by only observing, in other words: You have to END the game as a top 8 Great Power nation. Will you crumble and be forgotten, or can you change history?
Could be a fun video! I’ll have a look!
Thank you! PS: I have only been able to do it with 300 points, so good luck if you choose to give it a go!
I did it but cheated a bit, I forgot that technically Malaysia is new world, I gave them a bunch of cheap high trade good provinces, and 0.5 goods produced in the ideas, they ended being 4th great power and military hegemon!!!
Having played some of early Extended Timeline myself, I know that the splitting of Frisia is probably caused by cases where after the death of a ruler, the country was split between their sons (like happened in the Frankish Empire, and several states in the HRE in reality). I think the developers of the mod should do something to make the borders less border-goryy in such a case though.
Peaked with Shia Wales, downhill from there
40 seconds in. I'm rooting for Armenia
Update: they lost very fast
update: the country was lost but the people thrived
Shout out the Armenians!
I'm currently doing an extended timeline campaign. I started at year 2 (which is as far back as you can go) and I am now on year 1253.
I would love to know what has happened so far with your session.
We wanna see the lore
2:34 200k is actually pretty small, since during the second punic war, rome mobilized 700k soldiers.
mfs employed half the country
Okay to be fair, we don't know if they *actually* did that. Roman sourced numbers in their histories tend to seem... inflated, to say the least.
Yeah, I think it’s pretty inflated 😂
The video : Parthia becoming The Huns
Poland being germanic : 💀
Satvahana (brahmam kingdom) being jain
Ming changing name every second
This was awesome. Hope we get to see another extended timeline video. I know it takes a lot of time, but pls pls pls
Was rooting for *Rome* , then for *Cottia* to retake the mantle, then for Chalcedonian *Ireland* to save Christianity, then finally hoping somehow *Sicily* would convert and retake at least Italia. None of this came true.
*_This is what nightmares are made of._*
What's with the native hate? I love big natives sticking it to the colonizers. I petition Chewbert has to do a full native playthrough.
12:30 China in extended timeline is Portugal CHRISTIANO RONALDO SUUUUIIIIIIII
indonesia has the biggest muslim population in the world , aound 220 millions and a very not not religious, sharia law is being implemented to regular law on daily basis. sadly the country is being very radicalized... like all over the place
12:25 ronaldo got his revenge
"Nabataean whatever that is." Those are the people that built Petra
You deserve so many more viewers! Love your content chewbert
even after all these years, Asterix and Obelix managed to keep their little gallic village alive
Actually, Indonesia is the biggest muslim nation in the world follow by Nigeria i think...
Man always sad to see Rome gone
There was quite an inconsistent pronunciation of 'Zhou' in the video. The one time I believe was pretty much correct (although I don't know which tone it should be) was at 37:33 (Zhou Pacific).
23:25 Poland with a severe skin rash
L rome yall arrested me
Arrested? Buddy u got crucified
You could have placed the fall of the empire mod or the other one wich I forgot the name to stop the very big blobs and more mods too though the performance would be destroyed
hey could you do a eu4 but every country has all institutions but not all techs i think it could be interesting btw love your videos
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world right now
This mod is cool and all but definitely main issue is, one you reach like maybe 100-200 years after any start date it’s just Blob V Blob, like CK3 would probably show the splitting and growing of kingdoms and empires better in an extended timeline but the mod is still cool for like small timeframes to do a few things in instead of a full run
Please try my mod! Development expanded lite :)
4:50 Always cool to have our existence acknowledged. Btw great vid chewy
A very ancient and interesting faith! Cheers :D
35:11 That's A Great Example Of Why You Should KEEP The New World Natives, I Love Seeing That Kind Of Stuff
Worst time-line💔
little info for scrollers. xiongnu is origin of huns. early mongol-turkic country.
Forget the Majapahit, Kandis is my new favorite south-east Asian power
24:18 i don’t know why but i feel like you should have played a canned applause track when Ming showed up
18:34 Parthia suffers the same debuffs in the Migration Age that Rome suffers. It's considered an "Old Empire" @Chewbert
16:40 You say that the Germanic peoples pushed out the Slavic people out of the "Slavic areas" around Poland and Pomerania, but I don't think that was the case. Based on what was shown, I don't think the mod simulated their migration into that area (at least not properly).
There should be some more events that would cahnge something in Europe, because Germans are too OP.
LIke there should form papal state, no HRE that would have christian religion center (like vanilla protestant centers) that would cause Italian state converting after migration age, later spreading this to France, maybe Germany. There should also be stronger Slavs to disallow Germans to go east, forving them to be between Slavs and Christians.
Iraq was such a wild card them ending up in 2nd was unexpected
Never seen a worse historically inaccurate map of parthians everything east of rome to the plains of middle asia and indus valley was parthia they were a superpower alongside rome this thing here is just another country ready to be conquered by rome not the one who creamed roman ass multiple times
About first minutes of the video:
Army size was much bigger than in medieval age, because of centralized slave based agriculture
Has a lot more to do with logistics and a unified treasury than slavery.
@@lokenontherange I think what they mean is that because of slaves working agricultural jobs you dont need to have the majority of your free population working on farms. This means you can safely field more soldiers for longer as you don't have to worry about famine back home due to lack of workers.
10:42 Mongolic-Turkic-Iranic-Tungustic confederation as far as I know
the slaves wasnt in this time in the poland region there were germanic tribes
19:07
Confirmed Chewbirt supporter of Greater Armenia 💪🇦🇲💪
Maybe run again but using ck timeframe so there are more nations to watch
Met the developer of this mod, nice guy
Frisian Pizza does have a ring to it.
Not including Jews in Israel in post finem is a crime
yea indonesia is super muslim, great video
meme central. very cool stuff
"that small province called palestine or israel"
stop being afraid of saying the truth
this province is called Judea.
🤨
so i just checked- satrap were persian administrators. so the western satraps probably broke free from parthia. WESTERN satraps in the EAST xD
I think you confused the Parthian wars with the Byzantine wars against the Sassanids which is the “downfall”/decline you were talking about. Same empire just different dynasties and times.
Then ya boi Islam shows up and slaps them both while their in the infirmary
Indonesia is just the largest muslim country with roughly 200 million believers 😅😅😅
I LOVE the Walloon hegemony in Western Europe ! Vive la Wallonie 🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪
FYI Zamolxist is a paleo-balkan mythology. also likely an indo-european religion since it has the same features as the hellenic and norse faiths
I remember doing this and the most remarkable thing was a Swedish, Norse religion United States. It was sooo wild
I once did a wc as rome in this mod (all colonized provinces in afroeurasia that I could see). I got really impatient once I got to China and trucebrake a few times which triggered event chain that leads to fall of Rome but I was able to revert it. I got last event that said something like "after regaining control over all of the empires most distant territories stability came back to Rome" just the next day I annexed the last country out there which was Ainu, which really made it feel like Rome was actually claiming all this territories.
I once played 200 years as a North American nation, with the same start date. So no grandma, I’m not married yet
Would love to see this again. Loved to see the religious and political development of the world.
30 seconds in and im already expecting mamlukean Australia
I like playing ET with eclypse of empires just to make the big blobs split up.
I hated this so much until Arabian Falklands saved it for me
Loved this video! You should do this mod again but at the start date where Rome splits
Could you take a look at the divergences of light mod for an AI only vid
HER BIJI KURDISTAN
Please do "Eu4 but agressive expansion lowers by 20% every age " starting with -10% or 20% in discovery.
Your longest vid by far
The fact that there is a reconquistia
Dann. Mad respect for the effort. 👏🏻
6:40 I don't think Anatolia's in the _Western_ part of the Roman empire. Nor is Iberia in the Eastern part. 😏
East? I thought you said WEAST!
Every Roman a players wet dream
EGYPTIAN CALIPHAL BRITAIN POG
12:05
GOTHIC PRUSSIA
Poland refused to die
Do this with the Mongol empire

Direct download link on the discord
@@Chewbert i love you man ❤️
6:05 Minor correction, The Sassanids who usurped the Parthians were from Persis(South Iran) and were the first native Persian Rulers since the Achaemenids of Cyrus the Great. Also if anyone is wondering, the Parthian/Arsacid Dynasty came from a region north east of Iran called the Dahae(now modern day Turkmenistan) as part of the Parni tribe.
The first bookmark is in 58AD the romano-parthian war, but you can set the date to 1AD manually(with the arrows).
Thank you Chewy for your videos, but i would be glad if you did more of your own gameplays :)
