@@thecookiejarKR I understand that. But I would also encourage you to start trying to bake some things without a book and develop your own variations to recipes. That's how I really got good. The best baker inside of you comes from your own trial and error. Trust me.

I love to bake too, my grandma is a baking expert, she can make everything, not just cookies. I had a great teacher.

Is the texture crispy or crunchy? I'm looking for crispy or crunchy old fashioned sugar cookies.
I would say crispy. It really depends on how long you bake them though. If you want crunchy just give them 3 or 4 more minutes.
