I literally just made these for Hanukkah, and they came out AMAZING!
    Everyone loved them!!!
Crispy on the edges, soft and slightly chewy in the middle.
    Perfect golden color.
I used a magen of David cookie cutter and a Ginger bread man for fun. They most definitely kept their shape and check out his royal icing video.
We had a cookie decorating party.
Depending on the size of your cookie cutter, I had big and small so we easily made a little more than two dozen w/one batch.
I used 1/3 Cup of corn starch like he had adjusted and mentioned in the video and they did in all honesty come out fantastic.
I put it flat in the fridge for 30 minutes, because I was working on the second batch of dough.
The fist batch i used Pure Vanilla extract. On the second batch I added a pinch of caramel extract.
What's great is that you can change the flavor so easily.
    Bravo to this recipe 👏🏆

      @eva-mygardontranslation9037 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Yes you're right, it does seem easier. However, easier often doesn't mean better and for cups here's why: you may have 10, 15 or even 20 grams difference with the recipe because people don't fill their cups the same. And with cups, it's so hard to divide recipes! Stick with your scale and grams, because you can see more and more baking youtubers or baking bloggers using grams. I think they feel they have to to be reliable to people. :)

My family calls me the cookie queen but SERIOUSLY....not compared to this piece of cookie heaven resource. How is it possible to have every single cookie that I've ever made, tried, loved, thought of, heard of, and even NOT heard of in one single place? All that said, with beautiful photos, great results, wonderful tips....I love this! I decluttered my KAF cookbook bc it turned out to be too cumbersome, too complicated, too unrealistic, etc What else would you need in life besides your cookie recipes?! So thankful I found this resource!❤😊

I have just gotten into baking sugar cookies for sell. I tried at least 5 recipes. I wanted to find one that I could use. This is it! I'm throwing all the others away. This recipe is a real game changer. I cannot stand it when I take the time to make dough, roll it out and bake it only for the cookies to spread. No more! Thank you for this recipe!

It’s probably because of the time. Your oven might not be the same as the one in the video, so it would need a different time or temperature than listed.

This recipe is amazing, I've made these cookies three times already and everyone keeps asking for more. It really helps that they're so simple to make since I've only just started baking with zero prior experience, so the cookies being such a huge success was a big confidence booster, so thank you John! You're an inspiration, and your instructions and overall attitude are just perfect.
On a side note, I'd really like to try making these with the lemon flavoring, but I'm unsure if it's just the zest that I should add to the batter or the juice as well? If so, how much?

    • @lucia22gh

@@arwen3478 did you over baked them? I know if you over bake cookies even by 1 minute will cause your cookies to be hard as a rock. I usually under bake my cookies by at least 1-2 minutes. As soon as you see the edges starting to brown, take them out!!!! Hope this helps 😊

I’ve made severa recipes from you John and this was no disappointment at all!! I was a little skeptical on the corn starch but omg it made all the difference on the dough. Super easy to handle and most importantly the Taste!!! Sooo good! Ever since I was making the dough it smelled super good and my hand were already filled with the delicious smell. My kids and my husband loved the cookies (and I must say they are hard to please) and we all had a comfy, lovely family time decorating them with the easy cookie glass recipe from you as well.
Thank you so much for sharing this, you give me more than a recipe, a family time I hope my kids will treasure ❤ I’m a fan, god bless

This is a good recipe, almost identical to one that I use. However, I don't use flower to roll them out. I roll them between either 2 pieces of parchment paper. That way I don't have to have them toughen up by adding more flour. Great job on your cookies. :)
