- Unfreakinbelievable! This place is incredible. You see it for miles, before you realize what it is. I was blown away. You know I HAD to stop.
Lucky for a, I saw no signs and got to explore this amazing building. It must of been quite the place in its day. Places like this, are far and few in between, and man, it was so peaceful and tranquil. Come along as we pop our head in and have a look

Thanks for taking us along on this adventure through the Canadian prairie. I enjoy the small towns and poking around the abandoned buildings.🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I love it
Excellent video Brent. That church was quite the place, nice you were able to access the inside. Safe travels 👍

My pleasure!
Have a good one my buddy. I loved that old church. Safe travels Brent.
It was pretty amazing bud
👍😊 My Dad's parents moved to Fielding SK in 1905. They purchased their property, sight unseen, whilst still in England. Ended up with land festooned with potato sized rocks. Dad moved them to Penticton, BC in 1941, as he was going off to war.
Crazy, I love it. My dad was born in meadow lake. My mom, in Penticton.
Maybe we’re related, lol
@@BrentsVanLife Yes, who knows??! My Mom went to Penticton Senior High, on Main Street. Would have graduated in 1950ish.
Thanks for another great video Brent. GTDAH
My pleasure! Hope all is well Danny
I love these explores
Me too
Sad to see a Ukrainian Orthodox Church (in Canada) abandoned, but understandable.
Thank you for sharing the history of rural Canada.
So much fun, thanks for watching
A Ukrainian stairway to heavan's booth. My Grandpa moved to the Stranraer area of Saskatchewn from the Champaign Illinois area to settle and farm before or after the 1900's. They ended up in the Miami Manitoba area years later, but that is part of our unrecorded family history.
Thanks for the video,Brent.
Great story Jim. Miami sounds cool
Great fun!
Having Fun
Greek Orthodox Church or Russian Church, I Believe Their Are Only Two Of Those Churches Left In Canada The Other One Is In The Peace River Fairview, AB. Region Which I Have Been Too...
Very cool, thanks. A truely unique find
Trees use to be quite the commodity in Saskatchewan. That looked like an old Ukrainians church according to the dome on it.
In 2002 Mortlack, Saskatchewan offered a free building lot to anyone that was willing to build a house worth $35,000.00 or more.
Around the same time my son had bought an old two bedroom house from the local minister's daughter for $2,000.00, yes that # wasn't a mistake , I did say $2,ooo.oo ! The village was turning into a ghost town and they were trying to get new blood into the community to revive it.
I’m loving these stories I’m getting from you guys
I use to send parcels filled with seeds from maple and other trees from Ontario to my son when he lived in Sk to encourage some tree growth and variety in the prairies. At one time, if you saw a group of trees in an area out there, you knew there was a house in the ce ter of them. I thought that was odd coming from a heavily treed region. Diapered trees were also new to me since we don't see insect in festations in Ontario that will strip every leaf off a tree, year after year untill it finally succumbs to the damage. If you find a maple tree to park under, it could be one of our's.
That so cool, thanks for the story Denise
Very cool old church s What religion is the one with very cool ceilings church. Hope you get a great sleep.
I honestly don’t know. Russian? Ukrainian?
And the “ wires “ on the top are for catching free electricity from the Aether 😎
You can find building like this all across Mother Earth. In Europe , and elsewhere , those building are called “ churches “ now.
Oooooooo Look! A stairway! You crack me up, Brent! I hope that made up for your exhausting day. 😵💫😣. ✌️💗🇨🇦
Coooooool
It was! For a while
Cool train and old enchanted places out there in the prairies 😊another great day of exploring 😊take care and enjoy
Glad you enjoyed it
When all else failed, when we were pulling a trailer to camp, we would pull off in the next tiny town and stay in the parking lot of a church, usually round back of it. If a neighbour came around asking us what we were doing we would say truthfully we were dead tired and haven't found a place to camp. We intend on leaving first thing in the AM. Of course we didn't unhook etc. People were obliging. There are a lot of dilapidated Ukrainian Catholic churches around Alberta. No one to look after them after the oldies passed on.
Fun times eh. I love random stops. Some of the stories I get from the locals
@@BrentsVanLife Exactly. You never know who you will meet, and we have met some nice folks in the tiny villages. They just want to check up and make sure you are not up to no good.
Yup @seaside2001
What a lovely visit to the old church and could picture it as it was with people singing and families gathering together for Sunday services and perhaps a pot luck dinner afterwards. You take the road less traveled, Brent, and often you find these treasures and history. Sorry it was a day of 'set backs' but you soldier through. $50 loonies for that camping spot was a shade too high but perhaps they do not get a lot of traffic so have to charge a lot to make up for that. Your dinner looked awesome and hope you got a good nights rest. 🛌
It was a great day, that’s for sure
You always find a way in 😂
🤣
That looked like the perfect spot to snooze. Good looking meal too, easy and fills the belly. Be safe Brent and don’t over do it. I don’t know about where you are but the island is in a cooker over the next few days. Stay hydrated. 😊
Will do. It’s finally coming here to
That church was awesome. Wish there were as many abandoned place around here.
I will have my equipment with me when I come visit Ca. As many as you come across I would be lost if I didnt bring it all.
Thanks Brent another great video! 😊
It was fun, for sure
Thanks for the posting Brent, another interesting video and place to see. I haven't visited for awhile, but you appear to be heading east. Are you going across Canada again?
Actually west. Three months in the road already but Winnipeg and turned around
Thanks for the reply and the update. You actually look good, so travelling appears to be helping your health. Keep well.
Wow!! That was so cool Brent❤❤❤❤ thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Daughter worked her google fu - it’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. So sad to see what has happened to it. Never occurred to need to explore Saskatchewan I usually try to blast through there as fast as possible to get back to trees. My husband from Ne raska loved it there though.
@Lazytea You clearly have never been off the #1 hwy in SK if you think there are no trees here. Half the province of SK is filled with trees. It's called a Boreal Forest. We also have 100,000 lakes, (& the mozzies to go with them). Ignorance is bliss though. Keep blasting through. More room for those of us who appreciate the beauty of SK.
@@AellaMaude-oy9qn You are correct Ive not been off the highway in SK Never had a reason to be but I might venture about more on my next trip through.
It truly is an amazing place with amazing stories. I usually travel parallel to the major hwy’s 1 & 16, and sometimes I get lost on the dirt roads. Way too much fun
Typical Saskatchewan highways! Been a while since I was in Saskatchewan 😊. Brand new to your channel- currently working on getting into a VANLIFE situation lol. Hopefully by next Spring! Really enjoyed your videos. Will def be subscriber 🎉
I freaking love it, and welcome!
If I can help in any way, let me know
