Man I really wish I could justify buying a triple OLED setup. It's absolutely wild how convincing this looks.
When I watched a few of his other videos I thought it was screen captured and he was using VR with cameras tracking his hands. Then I realized I'm a dumbass.

@@roni1959 Hard to compare the two in my opinion.
Monitors will have better picture quality overall. But you can never match the true depth perception that VR provides.
Playing with monitors makes interacting with button boxes, mouse/keyboard, etc. easier. But VR actually puts you inside the vehicle.
Some might think having more external gear is immersive while some people will say that being inside the cockpit is more immersive.
It's really a preference thing. You have to look at the pros and cons of both.
You can adjust your mirrors in the option menu. Turn them in a bit so you can see much more.
AMS2 is by far my favorite racing sim. Glad to see it featured here
I've tried RF2, Assetto Corsa, even F Motorsport 7 (no iRacing yet) on my wheel but no matter what I always get drawn back into AMS 2. Glad you're having a good experience with it!

After watching this I downloaded Automobilsta 2, found the same car but couldn’t find the track you raced on. Been playing ACC for a while but the steering and ffb feels so much better on this! Amazing race and visually outstanding on your rig! Looking forward to the next one! Thank you
This track is in their DLC, it was around $10 USD when I bought it on steam

@@boostedmedia the arcadey bit (easy slides and everything else that brings) paired with a good tire model, great FFB, and outstanding weather and lighting, are what make this game so great IMO. It really immerses you in the game and makes you feel like a Rockstar.

Yea ams2 is great fun. Stills feels slidey for sure but to get the absolute most out of the car is still hard and needs good car control

IMO ACC / iRacing still takes the cake but AMS2 is getting up there.
It's a really tricky thing to get right because the dynamic range and exposure settings of the in game camera, the recording camera and even the monitors and the monitor setting all influence the final look.
Slight issue is that no videogame allows you to change the camera (rendering) settings to that extent, and even if it did, the level of understanding required to make everything look right is probably not easy to attain.
Let's hope that games that come out in the future allow for more settings so that these videos can look indistinguishable from real life.
Graphically and content wise if you include the mods its the best especially with old open wheelers series. RX is really fun too. If they can nail the slippery side with the aggressive diff, AMS2 will become the best overall sim. But sadly still no real competition system.
I put my money on GTR revival tho.

What a game; Automobilista 2. It's just amazing what it all offers and AMS2 looks even more amazing in the Pimax Crystal. I managed to get it running at 1.0 native render resolution of 4315x5100px per eye with 2xMSAA with 90fps/hz locked. This is (only) possible with a 16th resolution ring at 71%, with the foveated rendering ring strechted to 200% horzontally and 10% up you never see the ring. But with this setting my oced 4090 can handle it at a race like this with 90fps/hz locked. THAT'S next level. So try the Crystal again with these settings AND their latest firmware/pimax play version(which give a 100% stable experience here, older releases of pimax play were indeed not stable as you reviewed) and you'll be even more blown away by the experience.
Man these videos are the closest things I watch that look like real on board videos especially with these effects
In AMS you can ride the curbs more easily than in AC, so I'm wondering which one is the more realistic ?

Will you should test some of the mods for AMS. I had a blast on the Nordschleife withe X-Bow GT3 the other day. BTW AMS2 really shines in VR with my Pimax Crystal!
And it runs like a charm as well! On high settings with 4080 and Crystal supersolid 90fps. Actually the card only runs around 70%. ^^

The strong reflections on those high gloss panels are getting really very obvious recently - was there anything changed?
This looks awesome. Its a shame AM2 still feels a bit beta in terms of feature and polish. I really look forward to see this game evolve in the future. It has so much potential, even perhaps enough to surpass ACC and iRacing. But definitely not today.

I am curious on your thoughts on the Nordschleife. I am not a sim racer, more of a simcade/arcade racing person. I have been playing Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed recently (I got it years ago mostly because it has Mount Panorama) and it has been my only exposure to it. I found it frustrating, I dont have the memory for that many different corners, most of the circuit feels and kinda looks the same to me so I get lost and have no feel for what corners are coming up.
It’s a lot of fun once you learn the layout.
Hi there I use things that you can see at the side of the track trash cans,corners and such break the track up learn where 50 percent is then 25 present I find it easy like this to remember a track the hardest thing is mastering the track especially a track like nordschleife it has 140 plus corners.Good luck hope you all have a great day and all the best to you and your family's.
1) you're not defective, you just need more practice
2) remembering tracks is a skill like anything else - since I started simracing I've found it easier and easier to adapt to new tracks
3)arcade-racing is so uninteresting, driving a generic supercar on boring irrelevant physics through portions of some fictional generic highway is the most boring thing I can imagine.
With a good VR setup, a FFB steering wheel fighting you, and a real car chair to sink back into, you will honestly think you're piloting a car - driving an openwheeler in such a fashion is 10x more exciting than "arcade" racing, and it's all the other stuff that makes it addicting - trying to out strategize the opponents on tire wear/selection, playing with the car's setup so you get the tires to hook up faster, trying to figure out the best geometry through famous hairpins.
You don't have to be a genius to enjoy simracing, I'm a testament to that. The only reason I load up ferrari/lambourghini etc streetcars is to check out their interiors for a lap in VR. They drive and handle like neutered racecars - while I'd love to own one IRL, driving them in games when there's much more fun things to drive is a real bore. Anything with streettires is like driving in handcuffs
It's an expensive hobby though, I'll admit that
@@hansolo631Couldn’t agree more my man ! Only I never tried VR and think I never will because will get motion sick I think, can’t adapt to it I believe. I use triples 27” 1080p and have fun but now I got wheel problems, not shifting etc… Fanatec Podium DD2 here. My simrig is average. Not low, not super high end.

If AI is over 80 something they start tuning the setup for the track thats given. So a track with long straits they tend to go less aero to win more straight speed, prolly why they left you on the straights and you catched them at corners and while braking. And also AI is a little to good to drive in rain, their slip level control is supersmooth.

Will, are you sure the FOV is correct in this video? All your videos are spot on but this one feels to me like the FOV is a tad bit too wide.
It’s a narrower cabin than most closed cabin cars and the driver sits quite far back. So it should be pretty close.
Daytona at night in the Formula USA 2023 is another amazing experience especially in VR. Everything in the US is bigger.

The car he's driving (Ginetta G58 I think) doesn't have DRS. It's one of the only ones without I think, so you lose some time on the straights but still, it's my favourite of the P1's.

go back to gt7 put a psvr2 and choose nurb or le mans with variable weather and tim of the day and you'll get the most immersive experience ever
I can’t seem to run this game in my triples without my fans kicking in 😵💫 I’ve managed to get AC and ACC and even iracing on a performance side of settings that my PC can run but every time I try this game out my fans sounds like a helicopter. Tried turning all setttings to low and even adjusted my nvidia settings to performance. Might just be time for new PC lol

Insane yes, but the "cubic multicolor effect" is not representative of reality! This effect is present ONLY if we look through the lens of a camera for example.
