  • The continuation of the last video from Suduroy. The southernmost island in the Faroe Islands is just epic. Let's call a spade a spade, there are no better words to describe this place! It is obviously amazing for landscape photography and in this episode, we visit two locations. One of them is Ásmundarstakkur, where I show how I use the long lens to compress the scene and create some epic photos!

This is an important episode because for all landscape photographers, the ugly truth is that sometimes the weather/light does not work out. It's a natural part of the process (literally). Mads did his best, went out that day, kept hiking and then . . . you'll have to watch the video.

I already went through all your videos from the Faroe Islands. They help a lot to everyone who is going to visit and desires to experience this views.
The PDF file really was the "cherry on the top of the cake". It gives you some return from all oyur effort and It will save me quite some (a LOT of) time to do the planning of my trip there this year (on mid June).
Unfortunately, with only ~1week, I wont be able to go to Suduroy... but I hope to already have a great time there. ^^
    Thank you very much!! :D

Fantastic shots there Mads - the 2nd was my favourite. I've been using a custom Google map to log locations for years now so I really see the value in your Faroe Islands map. Most of the pins I have on my map for the Faroe Islands all come from your videos but I don't need to do that anymore as you done all the hard work for me. Nice to see you have linked your videos and added photos as well. I will definately be buying this. 👍

The map was an excellent idea and I had no second thoughts about buying it. I don't think any photographer did that - except International Photographer's Michael Levy, but he did it in a different (physical) way. Being in the Faroes right now, I can better understand how much work/patience/tenacity your photos and videos required. You always say how much you plan the shots, but things are so unpredictable here.

Hallo Mads,it is very good to meet you again. The photos are spectacular. The strong winds in Island or Faroe I know too. A question: Whats the difference to take the pictures with ISO 100 and 1/8 or with ISO 400 and 1/30? My normal ISO is 200 in my three Sonys (A99II, A77II, A7s). With Sony I thougt, higher ISO is no problem. Some tripods have a hook to hang heavy wights on it to stabilize. Stones are everywhere. A good bag is not voluminous. To fly the drone it was too windy. I like your drone flights very much.

I have to say that I love the videos and I'm inspired. But I'm not psyched about the location disclosure which has gone to a new level here. We photographers are part of the problem with overuse of lands and the consequences that come from it. Trash, crowds, feces, illegal or unethical trails forming, trespassing etc. Not to mention the strain on a tiny country's infrastructure and it's natural resources, limited accommodations, car rentals, flights etc. I don't want it to become a playground for the rich, and I think discovery is part of the fun. It's almost like why not stay home and order postcards?
