      Fantastic content as always, Mads. I relied on this quite a bit for my trip the last two weeks in June. I'd be curious to know if you've been back recently, and what your thoughts are on all the recent land use changes. I have mixed feelings. Having Drangarnir gate kept behind a ridiculously priced "guided" hike at 11am in June felt really bad.

    Outstanding videos. My wife and I visited the Faroes 2 years ago and saw many of the places you photographed. Your videos brought back wonderful memories. We also enjoyed your commentary, even though we’re just iPhone point-and-shoot picture takers.

    Ok, so much I could say- but I have to comment on how wonderful it was to see the dog at the end of the video- I was in the Faroe Islands in May of 2017 and that playful dog was such a joy! Bringing me rocks to throw for him to fetch! I regret not getting to know more of the people of the islands, but certainly love that dog!

    Just came back from a visit to the Faroe Islands - a visit that I have you to thank for. I have two things to say; WOW - and THANK YOU. This was the most epic trip I have ever had and I already want to go back. I get mixed feelings as I think about the Islands. On one hand I just want to scream out what a wonderful place this is - on the other hand I just want to keep quiet and tell no one. The feeling of a unexploated country is so great - and I just want it to remain like that. At the same time i want to go back and I am just another tourist like all others. Thank you for your great videos. Keep it coming...:)

      Hello
      To visit Dranganir do you recommend doing the hike or getting there by boat?
      I’m planning to visit Vagar in September and I don’t have a clue what is best.
      Thank you
      Carlos.

    These videos are amazing. Not just a practical guide to explore the Faroe Islands (even if photography is not in your main reason to travel there) but also a great source of inspiration and great tips how to best capture the islands' beauty on photography. I just come back from a one week photo and hiking trip to Faroe Islands and these videos from @MadsPeterIversen really made my trip easier and more productive. Not least, when waiting for the flight back home at the tiny Faroese airport, we just happened to meet Mads himself, who was also going back home from one more trip to the islands, and he was kind enough to spend some minutes talking to us. A great way to finish our photo tour to this amazing place. Thank you Mads.

    Bro, I can't understand why you have such a small number of subscribers.. Your videos are awesome! I discovered the channel like 10 days ago and I have watched all your videos already. I think you have to promote it better because the good content is here! Cheers and keep it up!

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thanks a lot! :)
      I'm literally doing everything I can when it comes to TH-cam optimization, but that only brings one so far. I would love to promote myself more, but I want relevant subscribers who're interested in what I do and those are mostly found in different groups on FB and reddit, but it's a complete no-go to post videos in those (which I completely understand, there're so many bad videos out there).

    • @risk52
      @risk52 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see what you mean. I liked the fact that you upload the link of each video on 500px (I think I've found you from there) .It seems like you are a really creative person so I am pretty sure that you'll manage to find an idea for a good promotion ;)

    • @jongrall
      @jongrall 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      risk52 I think it just takes time. TH-cam is so vast, but there's very little landscape and aerial photography content at this quality level. I'm confident that in time, with persistence, Mads' channel will gain in popularity and his work will be richly rewarded. For now, it's really fun to be one of the early fans of this channel - there's still a small enough number of comments that you can actually interact with Mads, who actually takes the time to respond, which is pretty special. Once there's thousands of comments per video, forget about it! ;)

    Hey Mads! WOW! You really outdid yourself with this latest video. Spectacular, particularly the intro and aerial shots. I knew the Faroe Islands were getting an increasing amount of attention from the photography community, and now I know why. Your footage and photos from here are easily the most breathtaking stuff I've seen from these remote locations. The only cliffs I've been to that even come close to this are located on the Nā Pali coast of Kauai.
    Not to knock Iceland, where I went this March, but the rock formations and cliffs of the Faroe Islands seem like on another level of foreboding ruggedness and epic scale. Like something from a sci-fi movie, or reminiscent of the "cliffs of insanity" from the movie the Princess Bride. Seems really challenging to actually convey the true scale - when you include a person they're only a few pixels tall! Perhaps it could be cool to photograph a sailboat from the water with the cliff as a background (I've seen similar pictures with towering icebergs in the Arctic), or even use a car for scale.
    I'd love to go there one day. Makes me wonder what the next popular frontier for photography will be... Antarctica? Greenland? The South Pacific? Siberia?
    Anyway, I can't wait for the rest of the series!

      Thanks so much Jon. Yeah the scale is actually a problem, when you try to put a human in there! We're just so small and puny :P And yes Iceland and the Faroes are very different. The Westfjords of Iceland is the closest you'll get I guess.
      I'm pretty sure Greenland will be next, if we're not counting Patagonia, which is already big.

    Finally managed to watch your new video! If I hadn't been stoked about that place by the many awesome shots of our fellow Scandinavian friends already, your beautiful video would have.
    Again what a great clip! Thanks so much for your continues effort. It is so great to watch. When I will be visiting these places one day I will definitely come back to your clips to detail my tour plans.
    I wish you many more subscribers and will continue to tell everybody about your clips! Keep it up, my friend!!!

    I've been looking forward to this series since you mentioned it a while back but the wait was worth it! This is an astonishing vlog Mads, your best yet and the accompanying images are sublime!👌
    This island looks amazing and terrifying in equal measures, if you were to slip on the grassy slopes that would be it, some of those drops look mighty scary even sat at home!!!
    The vlog is a superb advert for the Faroes and I can't wait for the next instalment.
    Take care mate.🍀👍

      Thanks so much Andy! I'm really happy you liked it! Yes the Faroes are indeed epic and dangerous all at once. Humans are so small and puny and we can only respect the raw power of nature! :)

    I waited, waited and waited impatiently, and finally the video about Faroe Islands arrived :-) An it is awesome, as always, Mads. I also appreciate how much useful information for trip planning your videos are sharing. We are planning to go to Faroe Islands in June, so it looks like we will be following your tracks :-)

      Oh, I loved this episode (not that I don't like previous ones, which are equally good). Our original plan on Vagar was to do just the most obvious locations (Gasadalur and Leitisvatn) and to go on a second day to Mykines, but your footage from Drangarnir is so inspiring, that I am thinking about lobbying hard to replace Mykines day with that location :-) But we are all 'grandpas' so I will have hard time to persuade comrades :-) Many, many thanks for sharing all those details, fantastic photos and great drone footage. After watching this episode, my wife, decided to triple my insurance for the trip :-) The location is awesome, but at the same time, a bit scary. You are doing the best photography video-blog on youtube, that I have seen. Keep up the good work!

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha if you're all "grandpas" the Drangarnir hike might be a bit harsh, but I bet you'll be able to rent a boat somewhere and sail out there. Wouldn't surprise me if that's an option although I don't know about it ;)
      That's a huge compliment considered I'd say especially Thomas Heaton is doing an absolutely fantastic piece of work ;)
