  • Join the live aboard crew of Free Spirit as we explore Suduroy, the southern most Faroese island.
We hike into the hills, visit some incredible places, get caught in a blizzard and have a scary encounter with the tidal streams that run through the islands.

Great coverage as usual, and very daring on the cliffs in those winds. Then you make a passage like that, so close to rocks as well, it looked awful. Glad to see you sorted out the quality issues.

Another great video. we've enjoyed binge watching all of them. Really love the underwater camera work you do. Just wondering what's happened to Rowen? Cheers, Chris and Pamela

Rowan and I are no longer together, we’re still good friends but he will no longer be joining us on the boat.

Thoroughly enjoying your videos. Beautiful camera work, lovely narration and great music choices. Amazing adventures and fascinating wildlife beautifully captured. I have wondered in your travels you seem to tie down your main when motoring or using just the foresail. (This might just be the time you have filmed.) Have you considered keeping at least a handkerchief of mainsail when at sea, as it will help stabilise the boat significantly. I realise the Faroes have notoriously treacherous tidal streams I haven’t experienced… but just a thought. I hope you all continue to enjoy your adventures. ❤

Having the mainsail up while motoring is often more efficient too.

Thank you, really pleased you’re enjoying the videos. Regarding the mainsail while motoring, for anything but extremely short hops we do normally raise the main while motoring. However, when there is no wind a raised main is not more efficient and, when windless conditions are accompanied by a swell or a rolling sea, a flogging mainsail can be more than just an annoyance, and actually a potential danger. In these situations we like to have the boom firmly tied away.

More likely that the puffins were killed off as a result of Danish commercial fishing for sand eels to use for fertiliser.
