a major consideration is the weight, the pro max comes in at 240 grams compare to 203 grams for the Plus, the Plus will feel a lot lighter in the hand and pocket.

1 ounce is not a significant amount of weight unless you’re disabled. You should go to the gym if an additional 37 grams feels heavy.

I've pre-ordered the plus. $200 more for those features is not worth it. Even if your making payments. The plus has everything the normal consumer needs plus its gonna feel so much lighter than the pro max which makes a difference. We gotta get out of the mindframe of oh it's only $200 more an not much more if financing, cause it's still $200 more regardless
In our country it's $600 more 😓 and this will be my first iphone and the last phone my parents will ever buy for me so I'm really on a tight spot if to get 14 plus ($1200) or 14 pro max ($1800)

The iPhone 14 (standard line) retains the notch. The iPhone 14 (pro line) are the only phones with dynamic island, so iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I bought the 14+. I had the iPhone X. It’s a good upgrade, and the 14 plus has a way better battery and space for only 100 more. I really like the big screen and feel of it. Plus I bought it at apple and traded in my iPhone X and got $125 off. My advice get the plus it’s better.

I got stuck with this choice problem between 14 plus and 14 pro max. I have money, it’s all ok. But I really don’t need ProRes, proraw, 3x zoom and 48 mp sensor.

So, the 14 Plus is ok if you just use your phone for like casual pictures and call and text. I have used the 13pro and the 13. The 60hz and 120hz is soooo negligible for me.I would still stick to the 60hz anywayz.

I’m still deciding between these two, my main focus point believe it or not is battery life. Currently I have the 2nd gen SE and I’m tired of having to charge it twice a day with a 88% battery capacity. I may just hold off and see what the real world results are between the two are in terms of battery life. The 3 camera system is nice on the 14 Pro max but not necessary same with the 120hz refresh rate.

Same! I have the SE2 and I definitely want a bigger screen and more memory plus I’m always making mistakes on the small keyboard. I love the light purple on the plus but was planning on getting the Pro Max but don’t love the deep purple as much. So many choices lol

Think I'll still be using my XR for another year, I'll have to do some direct comparisons, but wasn't too thrilled with the reveals this year.
going from an xr to a 14 pro, i think is worth it. i'm planning to to do that exact same upgrade this year, as there are enough new features and quality of life improvements from the XS all the way to the 14 pro for me to warrant getting it. Especially considering XR will be turning 4 years old
@@casmithh going to the pro could be worth it, but I have never bought a pro model and never wanted one, mainly due to the extra cost. If I was going to upgrade this year, I'd probably just go with the 13 since it should drop in price, and the 14 isn't much over the 13. I usually keep my phones longer than 4 years, I replaced my iPhone 6+ with this XR, and so far there's been no real big upgrade other than maybe cameras that would make me want to upgrade.
@@Stompbox99 Think about it like this. That extra 200 dollars you are putting towards the pro model makes the 6 years you use the phone for more enjoyable and it also can lead to further support for things like IOS. You get night mode, way improved battery life, much better cameras on both sides, a MUCH better screen (coming from that terrible 720p non oled XR one) along with great peak brightness for when you are outdoors, as even i can testify that sometimes it is hard to see the screen when the sun is very bright with the xr. The 120hz promotion screen is also very nice, as i have tried it out on a 13 pro and it felt very fluid and smooth, something that you might not think you want on paper but it actually makes a very nice difference.

Don’t waste your money on the plus, it’s $900 so if you’re gonna spend that kind of money, just get the pro max, you’ll have the best of the best & it will be a big long term investment.
Am I the only one disappointed with the 14 ipro? They didn't get rid of the notch or the camera bump and the color choice sucks! At least in Canada we still get the sim tray.
I was between these 2 phones for my wife and had the opportunity to see the pictures of the 13 pro and really disappointed compared with Galaxy Note 9. The level of detail of the iphone picture at 12MP is very bad. I like the iPhone pictures but one I zoom in, is just terrible how blurry they look. That's why now Ive changed my mind and will give her the 14 Pro Max with 256gb and be able to get beautiful pictures at 48MP. That will be the best picture in the market.

I’m gonna hold on to my 12 pro for another year. This “dynamic island” isn’t doing it for me and the 14 doesn’t really have any feature that the 12 pro doesn’t.
I’ll hold on to my 11 pro max (512gb) for another year at least.

Planning on upgrading from an 8 plus. I’m leaning towards the plus size phones since I’m use to them but not sure which one to get? The 14 plus has the color I want and a 6.7 screen for $899. Had I got the 13 pro max last year I definitely wouldn’t upgrade this year. But until these phones come out I have to wait and see. Plus I have boost mobile and they don’t have the phones on their site yet.
However, for boost mobile has the 13 pro max 256GB for $1,099 since the older iPhones are now on sale. But I don’t want to get a phone from last year. So technically I’m stuck between 3 phones to choose from.

I am deeply confused, I have the 11 pro max and I want to go for the 14 pro max, as my pro had kept me till 2019. I have loved making videos and taking portrait selfies. But I don’t use it for all the stuff Apple has packed into it, yet I am wanting to go for the 14 plus because of price and my 11 pro max screen isn’t that durable as it scratches with a touch, so it isn’t the most durable screen ever as Apple said it was. Help, literally saved up all summer x
14 plus will do whatever you need really, the pro max is more of a "flex". yes its better, but 200 dollars better? iphone 14 plus is pretty much everything already, and apperantly has better battery life, so the only reason for ME personally to go for the pro max is the 120hz screen, which i dont NEED, so ill go with the plus
I like the pro max, and I have a TH-cam channel and using my phone in the pandemic helped me realise what I can do and more. So I will purchase the pro max. Thank you for your help in helping me to decide Smokey x

How did you find the bigger phone with ease of use? I’ve always had the smaller ones but the screens are so beautiful now that I kind of want a tiny cinema in my pocket.

I think these comparisons are meaningless at this time. No use until people get the devices to review and check for real. The only meaningful difference between 14 plus and 14 Max is the 3x camera. Only after testing we can ascertain if there is a meaningful difference in performance or camera quality (A15 is very similar to A16, normal people dont care unless they hv to make a living selling the phone or make videos on the topic to get money). Then what's left is the 60hz vs 120hz. It s a personal choice, just like steel vs aluminium or colours.

The phone is going to be heavy from your xr upgrade . I have xr still and use it regularly and the weight different between my xr and 12 Max pro is definitely noticeable .

WTF ? I'm disappointed .. I'm keeping my 12 Pro Max and waiting for the 2023 model. Not a huge upgrade for me, no usb-c . I'm fed up of using Lightning.. Everything else I have is usb-c including my car.. Annoying ! Good thing I've got Wireless Carplay. They're not taking my money this year!

Should I trade in my iPhone 12? Although it is still running well, the new features on iPhone 14 look really helpful. Also, should anyone who is using the iPhone 8 upgrade this year? My parents still have iPhone 8 models and I am trying to help them decide whether they should upgrade? I have let them borrow my iPhone 12 briefly and neither one seems interested in switching from touch ID to face ID. Maybe with some practice they will get used to face I’d.

I’ve had every single iPhone and I can tell you now there is nothing that could justify you needing to upgrade. It’s just something you want, so that is up to you. Your iPhone 12 is fine, you just want the new thing. As for your parents, that generation hates change in technology so upgrading them will be something you will always have to coach them into.
Wait for the iphone 15. I have the iPhone 12 too and I was going to upgrade to the 14 but I prefer to wait there is nothing new beside the new notch “pill” and the camera and I don’t take a lot of pictures anyways so I prefer to wait
Will still keep my 12 Pro. The 14 Pros are slightly different IMO. I’d rather get an iPad, or the new Watch or Airpods instead.
First I would go Pro for the OLED display which is why I moved to the iPhone 11 Pro. Nice to be able to see the screen when I am out walking around, and in sunlight.
When it comes to eSIM I am going to have to check with my carrier to see how this would work for me if I need to move to a backup iPhone. A few years back I dropped, and killed my iPhone to a point it would no power up. I was lucky in that I still had my previous iPhone so all I did was pop out the SIM, and move it to my old iPhone and I was back up and running until I could get my newer iPhone repaired. Need to see how hard this is going to be if I have a new iPhone that only supports eSIM. Is there a KISS way to move my phone number/eSIM to a backup iPhone?
For now sticking with my iPhone 11 Pro with A13 154.9 GFLOPS supercomputer in my pocket until Apple comes out with an iPhone that has a USB Type C connector that I hope is either USB4 40, or USB4 80.
All iPhones (minus the SE) have had OLED screens since the 12-series, but there are still brightness differences between the models like you said
the iPhone has had an OLED display since the 12 though so that's no longer a criteria

The 14 does have always on display apple was advertising it on the apple store and you literally just showed it in the video

Not really wanting to order an iPhone 14 but that Dynamic Island is really tempting me to go Pro for the first time and I will want my Apple devices to be "Pro" too so I'd have to order AirPods Pro 2 an iPad Pro and a MacBook Pro
