@@obscuresoundz I hear what you're saying. But it *is* a seven-year-old machine. What's amazing is how Akai has used those same internals (CPU and 2GB of RAM in 95 percent of MPCs sold) for this long. I do think a CPU and permanent upgrade to at least 4GB RAM is coming soon though.

in the age where subscription services are the norm, updates cost money, and old devices becoming obsolete, there's Akai holding back the tide. I'm legitimately impressed that such a huge update is being brought to us for free, and still supports every device with a touch interface. This is one of the reasons that I will always be a proud owner of any of your hardware/software. You guys rock!
It's making me want to spend the money on Key61. Not only for the hardware but for the added software, which I assume will be useable on my Force and Live2 as well.
@@Jazman342 Got a key 61 a couple months before the key 37 was introduced and started regretting it bc of the key 37 midi feature. If you like using your daw as a module I recommend getting a key 37. Good Luck!

Had been looking at the Kontrol mk3 49 though for portability. Basically putting together a seperate more mobile rig. Have the s88 and a Firewire mixer, all running through an old retina MBP as a home studio. Got into MPC a couple of years ago, followed by Force, so MPC3 is pretty natural to me. Sort of caught between the MPC and the NI eco-systems though.
They are SERIOUS! And Akai *will* be getting another hardware purchase from me point blank period whether it's another from this generation or one from another if it's around the corner ...
For real tho. Most companies would have restricted this update to a new generation of hardware or would have charged to access the new update. Salute to Akai for looking out for those of us who have already invested in hardware. That's rare these days
@kl33tus the only question left is... how customizable will the new era of mpc's be? In other words, will you be able to upgrade the ram in the equipment? Will you be able to upgrade or add secondary internal hard drives to store files, samples, and 3rd party vsts? Will it have audio to midi and support mpe? They are heading in a great direction. And for all those people that keep giving them grief about sonics and converters in the hardware, I would make a $10,000 model for them,with all that stuff that they think they want, and tell them to put their money where their mouth is... @AkaiProVideo
Totally agree. It was my introduction to MPC and I liked it so much I also bought Force. Got half way through the video and went looking for the 'Take my money' button. Took a while to realise this was Beta only so far. May sign up for it but really, it may be a bit beyond my experience level atm. Will do if I know I can revert to current version if I choose though. Actually, the main reason I bought Force was for some of the features listed here. Mainly access features for live use in a 'one man band' situation.
I’ve waited for this for 4 years. Tempo Automation, Arranger, Disk Streaming❤ I think the only thing it’s missing is a nice EQ.. and it’s FREEWEEEWEEEWEE
Absolutely amazing. A complete reimagining. This will definitely piss off some folks, but for someone coming in new, losing some of the ‘idiosyncrasies’ is really welcome.
I love the new update. The one last thing I wish is that they find a way to route the click to the headphone jack only. Improvisation and looping in a live environment would be a breeze
You know what, half a year ago I sold my MPC One because I couldn't switch to this different, specific mode of operation, I preferred the type of work that every DAW, where you have everything on one screen, and you know what else? because of this update, I'M BUYING MPC AGAIN, because it's a real gift, God bless you. Every single thing shown in this video is amazing and more than welcome. Akai did the right thing by taking the force ui approach. What a banger. That main screen and sample to pad is absolutely amazing feature that I was dreaming of the other day. It makes spontaneous sampling 10x easier and fun. This is it !!!!

What arranger? It's a track overview. Has some basic audio editing but midi cant be arranged. It just shows what's in the track. The loss of programs while allowing changes to the mixer has killed my single sequence workflow off without intricate workarounds. Only 8 plugin tracks because you can't point a track to an existing plugin any more for duplication/variations Until we have Midi clips I'm on the fence with the direction.

Back again. Akai, MPC 3.0 is GREAT. But please enable odd time signatures... this is extremely important. 3/4 and 6/8 songs are really common, but I write in every imaginable time signature both with quarter note and eighth note pulse. Thanks!
Glad to see Akai listens to it's customers. The MPC is undeniably now the best piece of hardware on the market. Now we just need another run of the retro version on MPC 37 ,61, live 2 & One plus .
I have had a love-hate relationship with my MPC One since 2022. The waste of screen real estate and needing to change pages/screens/menus to do simple connected things as well as the awful confusing program thing always added an extra element of confusion. This looks amazing and is definitely in the direction to work without a DAW all the time. I have signed up for beta testing. Well done guys! ❤
This is a game changer! Can't wait to dig in. Love the quality of life improvements such as the mixer view, the arranger, reordering tracks and inserts, select all, etc. You've taken this platform to a whole new level and it makes it a no-brainer to wholeheartedly recommend the MPC to anyone making music.

I was about to sell my MPC X right before this was announced. I decided to wait to check out the beta. I've got to say I'm really diggin the new workflow. It makes so much more sense. The old one was best described as janky. This refresh makes the MPC a pleasure to use. I'm spending less time on navigating and I'm able to stay in the creative flow.
I was skeptical when I first heard about this but seeing the features in action has completely changed my mind. This looks insanely powerful and a big improvement to what we currently have! Can't wait to use it 🔥
Now that MPC got the Force-specific fearures, I am waiting for the Force to get MPC-specific features, like desktop software integration and missing plugins.

As an early adopter day one user I’m ashamed to save my MPC has now sat on the shelf as a glorified hard disk . however this update has been the trigger that’s going to breathe new life into my MPC usage . not least the easier workflow but very excited that I can just dump this to Ableton session meaning I can take the MPC away from the studio come up with ideas And then flip straight into Ableton once I need to expand I always had faith ain this Kit would come of age and that’s exactly why I kept the unit all these years . I really think it has now is the time ..thanks Andy and the Akai team for your continuing hard work and dedication to this fantastic unit
@@alfiedotwtf Buy a bs Force if you want bs arranger mode. This is a d@mn MPC. Real MPC heads used sequence mode to "arrange" parts of their songs. Then they put all those sequences in song mode. I use sequence and song mode in my d@mn MPC 2000 Classic that came tf out almost 30 years ago. I find all these updates in modern MPC workstations like Live, One, etc are cluttered bs. I guess all these updates are making you consumer producers feel like professionals. By having all these crutches just to make a f&&& beat that sounds like everyone else bs. GTFOHMFB

Been using MPC for 30 years. Bought the XL when it was first released but sold it not long after as I couldn't quite get it to work how I wanted with audio files. This is now it. Will be demoing ASAP and hopefully snapping up a new XL with MPC3. Nice work AKAI.
This is a new era gentlemen! 👊 I welcome all the new features but the arranger mode is DEFINITELY for me possibly bringing me further away from finishing my tracks in Cubase.

my eyes nearly popped out my head akai smashed it . never saw this coming. its like you just released a new piece of hardware even though its software lol great job looks amazing. so happy i have a MPC LIVE 2 i can see a crazy amount of sales just from this software update. Andy done a great job showing different features on this update. unbelievable power NOW THIS IS THE BENCHMARK FOR STANDALONES .
The MPC workflow will be so much more streamlined with 3.0! Also, the new look is so much better. Based on this and Ave Mcree’s preview, it looks like we can finally customize the colors. I love how it looks in this video. Great job, Akai!
@@filipswiniarski7388 It looks like you can do disk streaming on all MPCs. I’m guessing it is only from the built-in internal hard drive. I watched Ave Mcree’s preview and he showed the option in the menu to enable disk streaming, but there was not a way to select a source from which to stream. So my impression is that disk streaming makes the internal hard drive work like RAM.

But please enable odd time signatures... this is extremely important. 3/4 and 6/8 songs are really common, but I write in every imaginable time signature both with quarter note and eighth note pulse. Thanks!

Glad to see Akai listens to it's customers. The MPC is undeniably now the best piece of hardware on the market. Now we just need another run of the retro version on MPC 37 ,61, live 2 & One plus .

I have had a love-hate relationship with my MPC One since 2022. The waste of screen real estate and needing to change pages/screens/menus to do simple connected things as well as the awful confusing program thing always added an extra element of confusion. This looks amazing and is definitely in the direction to work without a DAW all the time. I have signed up for beta testing. Well done guys! ❤

I was about to sell my MPC X right before this was announced. I decided to wait to check out the beta. I've got to say I'm really diggin the new workflow. It makes so much more sense. The old one was best described as janky. This refresh makes the MPC a pleasure to use. I'm spending less time on navigating and I'm able to stay in the creative flow.
When are you releasing the beta? It's been a few weeks already !!
I was skeptical when I first heard about this but seeing the features in action has completely changed my mind. This looks insanely powerful and a big improvement to what we currently have! Can't wait to use it 🔥
Now that MPC got the Force-specific fearures, I am waiting for the Force to get MPC-specific features, like desktop software integration and missing plugins.

As an early adopter day one user I’m ashamed to save my MPC has now sat on the shelf as a glorified hard disk . however this update has been the trigger that’s going to breathe new life into my MPC usage . not least the easier workflow but very excited that I can just dump this to Ableton session meaning I can take the MPC away from the studio come up with ideas And then flip straight into Ableton once I need to expand I always had faith ain this Kit would come of age and that’s exactly why I kept the unit all these years . I really think it has now is the time ..thanks Andy and the Akai team for your continuing hard work and dedication to this fantastic unit

@@alfiedotwtf Buy a bs Force if you want bs arranger mode. This is a d@mn MPC. Real MPC heads used sequence mode to "arrange" parts of their songs. Then they put all those sequences in song mode. I use sequence and song mode in my d@mn MPC 2000 Classic that came tf out almost 30 years ago. I find all these updates in modern MPC workstations like Live, One, etc are cluttered bs. I guess all these updates are making you consumer producers feel like professionals. By having all these crutches just to make a f&&& beat that sounds like everyone else bs. GTFOHMFB

Been using MPC for 30 years. Bought the XL when it was first released but sold it not long after as I couldn't quite get it to work how I wanted with audio files. This is now it. Will be demoing ASAP and hopefully snapping up a new XL with MPC3. Nice work AKAI.

The linear arranger is my favorite feature right now

@@filipswiniarski7388 It looks like you can do disk streaming on all MPCs. I’m guessing it is only from the built-in internal hard drive. I watched Ave Mcree’s preview and he showed the option in the menu to enable disk streaming, but there was not a way to select a source from which to stream. So my impression is that disk streaming makes the internal hard drive work like RAM.
