That is awesome! This is my first Jeep too! I love lots more coming!! Let me know if there is something you would like to see on the channel. I'm always open to new ideas. Thanks for watching!
The strut hats, spring/strut insulators, bump stops, are they all only for Koni/KYB specific applications? What if I went with Bilstein struts/shocks would these parts work with them as well? Thank you in advance love the content on your channel.
Fun bit of info, KONI is from the Netherlands, and the Jeep Renegade (the one that's manufactured in Italy at least), has KONI shocks, ones that become more stiff in corners, and are more forgiving when offroading. We own a Renegade, apart from the Commander, and got about 120.000KM on the clock of the Rennie without a hassle. KONI all the way!
Nice! That's great feedback. Thank you. I love them so far. It's cool that they are adjustable, it's just a terrible process for the front struts, but could be useful if I ever decide to get a metal front bumper, which would increase the weight upfront. Thanks for watching!!
So almost 2 years later, how is everything holding up with this lift? Have you had to replace ball joints at all? How is the angle of front drive shafts?
⭐️ cool video, i just got a Jeep Commander and I'd like to put 20" rims on it, probably with low profile tires... I also want to add a snorkel and a winch... 🤷♀️ idk, i hope the vehicle is sturdy...
20 inch wheels, low profile tires, snorkel and winch don't all go together. I would lose the 20 inch wheels and low profile tires It's a bad idea. That's going to be a lot of rotating mass, which will hurt performance, MPG and probably give you all sorts of steering issues. Good luck and thanks for watching.
I noticed on Jeep commander , stock suspension the rear end is an inch higher. It looks awkward like the front end is sagging. I like the leveling kit so you can adjust the height even using the rockers as level . It totally charges the stand of the Commander
In my opinion, there is nothing more awkward than the front being higher than the rear, which basically every leveling kit for the Commander does. With that being said, I have plates that go on top of the front suspension that is supposed to raise the front end a half of an inch. I've had them for months and haven't installed them because I'm still on the fence of whether or not they are worth the hassle of installing if they raise the front higher than the rear. I'll do a video if I ever install them.
Did you have a noise problem with the back windows down when you first got it? My 06 with stock wheels does a "whunp-whump" like a huey helicopter whenever the back windows are down at freeway speeds.
Put your front windows down. Problem fixed. Any hatchback style vehicle will create that noise with only the rear windows down. It's not a Commander thing.
I like the really wide look seen someone in a reel on here who had a commander I think on a 6 inch lift possibly I think it was with 20x 14 looked like definitely 14 wide though what would be a good setup I’m going to be picking up a commander soon and would like to go really wide

I didn't install any lift on it as it seems to sit pretty high already, higher than a new Wrangler. Anyway your Commander looks really cool, they look cool even stock, that's why I wanted to buy for a while. I also have a 93 XJ which is an amazing Jeep, have it since 2001 and it never gave me any trouble

Good evening I took off a 4 inch lift kit from my 2007 commander. It came that way when I purchased it. The problem was they were too much clanking and banging and you know like you had mentioned it ran and drove beautiful. How was yours doing? Well just a 2 inch lift
Hi, this is good set up. How many inches lifting think you are and i have a 3.0 diesel 2007. As you know diesel engine more heavier the gasoline engine so can i run with this set up? Thanks.
Not true. I did it with a friend at his shop. The springs on this car are no joke and your typical spring compressors are dangerous to use. Thanks for watching.
Great video, great links too! If those are the biggest tires that will fit with your 2” lift setup, who much lift would you estimate I’d need to run 37”s ?
37's aren't going to fit. Why would you want them anyway? They would weigh over a 100 pounds each wheel. You would lose so much power trying to move those things and you mpg would be about 1 HWY 0 CITY. Not to mention that you probably wouldn't be able to stop. Thanks for watching.
I did not like how my Commander's front end sat lower than the rear. I also did not like how my vehicle rode on rough poorly maintained pavement and washboard dirt and gravel roads. My shocks and struts were changed just a few years ago before I bought it, so I thought how can I make an improvement without major work or costing me an arm and a leg. I then thought about what racers do to smooth out the rides on their cars, so I decided to try adding spring rubbers along with a 1inch rubber block. Mr Gasket made a spring rubber the exact size I needed for my spring gap and I also added the rubber blocks (total cost $60). Now my front end height is within 3/8" of my back end and the best part is my ride on rough roads is like day and night compared to before. No more kidney jarring rides on the washboard roads to my favorite fishing spots. I was only wanting a leveling lift because my Commander is just 2wd and I needed to justify the cost to my wife so that I could continue to make modifications here and there to make my vehicle not look like every other Commander out there. I may add softer spring rubbers to the back springs but the ride is good now just doing the front.
Had the same problem, ended up pushing the mount bolts for the struts through and bolted them down, cut the bolts down with enough thread to keep them safe. Unbolt and slide it into the clevis and lean it under, may have to force it a bit. Get me by until I get new lcas and clevis bolts to fix the problem. Be sure to unhook everthing, end links and tire rods so you can push down on them really good.
It took an air hammer and air ratchet to get it off. It was a nightmare. I wasn't able to remove it in my garage, which is a first for me. I would recommend cutting the bolt. You can get replacements from the dealer. Thanks for watching.
