    I've watched your video like 10 times, its very imformative. Im trying to get the courage to do mine. I've never did it before. I have some skills but not much. I will be going to the Junk yard tomorrow to take off two clevis Fork for a 2008 Jeep Commander, off of a 06 Commamder I got new Bilstein 5100 Shocks for the front and rear I figured I get some off and clean them up and take my struts off and take them to a shop and have them swap over my springs for me. So I'm very thankful of your video...

    Thanks your video helped out this weekend, got my leveling kit installed. I didn't do the back did you?

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I just did the front as well. I ended up installing adjustable ball joints to make it easier to get the alignment right. I love the stance now. Feels sooo much better when driving. How do you like yours?

    Good video. I have done that job before. Cheapest way to get the front end back up.
    Gonna go up on tire size?

      Maybe when it needs tires we can get something more aggressive. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Great video, does the leveling kit make the Jeep rode any rougher and do you have to get it aligned afterwards?

    • @GreggFesto
      @GreggFesto  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching. The Jeep rides about the same with the spacers. Yes an alignment is needed for sure. My guy installed new adjustable ball joints for me but he said there should be enough room in the factory suspension to adjust it properly either way. I notice the most difference when driving - with the nose up more it feels like a real truck. I love it.

    Hey there! Gonna have this done to my 5.7L Hemi Commander soon. I can keep everything in the suspension stock and just add a 2 inch leveling kit just in the front without any issues correct? I will get it aligned after the install as well. Let me know please. Thank you!

    • @GreggFesto
      @GreggFesto  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching. Yes you are correct, you can install these spacers and keep everything else stock. The alignment will require going near the limit of travel for control arms but will work fine. The spacers do add stress to the stock ball joints so I plan to install some adjustable ball joints when I replace the stock ones.

      @@GreggFestoThanks for replying! Can you please recommend some adjustable ball joints for the 06 Hemi Commander? My mechanic is just going to install the 2 in spacers to the front without any other modifications but just in case I need adjustable ball joints in the future can you tell me which to purchase? Maybe some I can order off amazon if need be. Thank you!

      I am going to get some from SPC (Specialty Products Company). They have good reviews and are not too expensive, much less than the whole upper control arms. You can search google for SPC 23420 JEEP ADJUSTABLE CAMBER BALL JOINT

      @@GreggFesto Thank you so much for the prompt replies! I am not planning on doing any kind of off roading or anything too crazy. Just going to daily it and want a better stance on the Jeep hence why I got a 2 inch level kit for the front. Do you think I will be okay with stock ball joints for this purpose? I am trying to keep costs down. As long as the car drives okay is safe and allows for proper alignment I will keep stock ball joints. Let me know! (I made note of the adjustable ball joints just in case though!)

    • @GreggFesto

      I did this spacer lift for the same reason as you, want better stance. The stock ball joints should work OK but they will have more stress on them due to the angle change of control arm. I am checking mine periodically, once the stocks start making noise or getting movement in them I will upgrade to the adjustable ball joints or longer upper control arms.

    Hi mate, i did this lift, the cv driveshafts seem to have to steep an angle... mine are shot already.... I replaced them with new and they are still cluncking about... any ideas bud?

    • @GreggFesto
      @GreggFesto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching. I have not experienced any issues with the CV driveshafts in mine. Did you lift more than 2"?

    • @thecoverstory1
      @thecoverstory1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My spacers are 2.4 inch... surely .4 isnt a big enough difference??

    • @GreggFesto
      @GreggFesto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Could be too much if you are having troubles. I remember reading on one of the forums that too much lift with the spacers could cause the issue you are having. Another issue they talked about was not being able to get the camber correct without adjustable ball joints if more than 2" spacer was used.

    Hey so I am doing the same thing on my jeep, and I can’t get the knuckle to get to the upper control arm where they connect. When I try jacking the knuckle up it just brings the whole jeep up instead of

    • @GreggFesto
      @GreggFesto  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching. The truck should not lift off ground, perhaps you have jack to close towards the center of truck? Should be close to the rotor so that it has most effect on the strut itself. If the studs are sticking through the strut tower properly and you have pulled the upper control arm down but still the ball joint does not reach, you may be able to use a ratchet strap to pull the lower and upper control arms closer together. Please let me know what you end up doing to get it together.
